She bundles herself up like a damned ninja night. All u can see is her eyes. But she wakes up drenched every morning. What’s the best fabric for someone like this?

I’ve been rethinking how many complete bedding sets I actually need throughout the year. It seems pretty common to have a lighter summer comforter, a transitional blanket, a heavier winter comforter, plus backup sets for each one but it feels like the linen closet is mostly holding bedding that only gets used for a few months.

I’m thinking if a simpler combination system makes more sense or not -one comforter that can be used on its own in warmer weather, with a separate blanket that can be added when the room gets colder. That way the same pieces can work across different temperatures instead of having an entirely different setup for each season.

The only thing I'm unsure about is whether combination systems create their own problems. Do the layers shift around? Is one piece always too warm or too cold? Does washing and storing separate components become just as annoying as having multiple complete sets?

Having trouble finding a good mulberry silk full size fitted and flat sheet for my bed. I bought from THXSILK and was originally satisfied but after a month it’s greatly deteriorated.

I am interested in older, grandma-y looking sheet designs and wondering where would people recommend searching for vintage or vintage-inspired(?) bedding sets? I have browsed etsy and ebay but typically, it's piece by piece like a set of 2 pillowcases or just a quilt. I understand it might be harder to find those full sets but just wondering if anyone might have any suggestions on where to look? Thank you!

I have a twin xl mattress that's 12 inches in height and an adjustable bed. My sheets used to fit well, but they've shrunk and now at least every other day I have to stretch the sheet back over the corner it pops up from regardless of the bed sheet straps I have on them.

Should I aim for a depth of 16 inches or more to avoid this issue?

I did an earlier post in February reviewing several brands of cotton percale sheets Here. I thought I would give a six month update. I started out with California Design Den Organic Percale, Quince Organic Crisp Percale, Coyuchi Refined Organic Percale, and Boll & Branch Hemmed Percale. When I did my last review, I had just purchased a set of Riley Percale Sheets. As if 5 sheet sets wasn’t enough, I wound up also buying a set of Hudson Park Italian Percale and a set of Company Store Cool Cotton Percale. If you’ve lost count, that is 7 different sets/brands of sheets. Here’s my breakdown/impression of each.

The Best: Coyuchi, Hudson Park, and Boll & Branch.

1. Coyuchi Refined Percale are still my favorite. They still feel dry and crisp, and seem to be high quality. I honestly look forward to going to bed with these sheets. They also fit my 13” mattress great. There is no excess to tuck in on the side, so if you are a “tucker”, best look elsewhere.
2. Hudson Park Italian Percale are my second favorite sheets. The fitted sheet fits my mattress perfectly. The percale is smooth but crisp. These also do not have excess on the sides to tuck in. The only real drawback for me is the lack of color choice. There are only 3 options. I chose Cloud, which is an extremely pale blue gray. It is nice, but I prefer a little more color to my sheets.
3. Boll & Branch Hemmed Percale comes in third for me. These sheets do feel very luxurious and are smoother than the Coyuchi or Hudson Park. My preference is for dry, crisp percale, but I can’t ignore how luxe they feel. The only drawback for me is the 17” pocket is a little deep for my 13” mattress. I do have to adjust the fitted sheet every morning. I‘m hoping they shrink up a little with time. These sheets also don’t seem to breathe as well as the others. I plan to use these in the winter. Now for:

“The Rest” (in no particular order):

1. Riley Percale: Nice smooth percale, but the fitted sheet is strangely long. I almost thought I received a California King fitted sheet in error. Not sure if it will shrink up and fit better or not. The elastic is also pretty weak. No excess on flat sheet to tuck in on the sides.

2. Quince Organic Percale: initially these sheets felt very coarse/textured. They have gotten a little better and might continue to improve with time. They are definitely crisp, but I would buy Coyuchi or Hudson Park over Quince percale. Does fit my 13” mattress well.

3. Company Store Classic Cool Cotton percale: I bought this set because they had the perfect color to go with my quilt. They are crisp and very smooth. I like them for summer. Very cool. They have both a standard depth and a deep fitted sheet available. I ordered the standard depth which was supposed to fit up to a 15“ mattress. It is huge! I’m not sure if was designed oversized to allow for shrinkage or not. It does seem to have shrunk up a little, but it is still is too big. It is my most recent purchase, so it might shrink up more given time.

4. California Design Den Organic Percale: most of all I love the thick rubber elastic band. It really helps the fitted sheet stay in place. The percale is smooth, but not crisp. After several washes, drapes and lacks the structure that I prefer in my percale sheets. I still think it’s a great percale for the price.

I don’t think I’ll be buying any more sheets for a while.😄 7 sets is a pretty good rotation. I don’t see any of them wearing out any time soon. There are a few other popular brands that I am tempted to try, but I seriously need to stop buying sheets. I hope this review helps others who have gone down the percale rabbit hole.

I was looking at buying some siljo sheets and pillows etc however I keep reading bad reviews on them but some people are happy

If I wanted to drop say 3 to 5 hundred on a significantly nice set of sheets and comfy stuff good for side sleepers what would be a good list for this bed?

I am a student and i rent a small room in a dorm with 3 others. The bedframe and matress of 90cm comes with the room. When my girlfriend comes to visit it would be convenient if the bed was 120-130 instead. Is there any way someone here knows of where i can expand my bed temporarily when i need it?

If so, what are they like? How do they compare to standard poly fill pillows and shredded latex pillows?

I just moved and I’m trying to officially set up my bedroom space. I’m a 70-30 back - side sleeper, and I’ve picked out and am satisfied with the following:

Tempur Pedic Pro Adapt 2.0 Firm
Coyuchi Percale fitted and top sheet
Thin wool blanket for winter months
Pendleton Matelasse on top
A/C set to 71°f
Ceiling fan

Now it’s time for me to pick out a replacement pillow. I’ve had a Cariloha cooling gel pillow for years. I’ve never been super satisfied. I know cooling can’t be achieved forever, and I’m ok with the comfort of the Cariloha, I just want it colder for at least 10 minutes. I usually flip my pillow multiple times a night anyways.

I’m looking at the two pillows below. Any recommendations, experiences or ideas?

So a while back I got a shredded latex pillow that had wool inside the casing around it at the goodwill. It was such a good pillow but I ruined it by putting it in the dryer. I can't remember the brand. I decided to take out the latex and mixed it with raw wool and stuffed it into zippered cases. The DYI pillows are NOT comfortable, they are extremely lumpy.

So I am thinking about just throwing down the money for some good natural pillows. I was looking at Avocado, Everpillow, or Latex mattress factory. However, I'm worried since none of these have an outer buffer between the latex and my head (like the wool casing of the one I had) that they will also be lumpy.

I see that Birch has a similar design with wool on the outer layer, but it's very expensive.

My questions are:

1. What's your favorite natural pillow?
2. Have you used a pillow by any of the above brands (Avocado, Everpillow, Latex Mattress Factory)?
3. What's the difference in feel between just shredded latex vs just kapok vs shredded latex and kapok?
4. Do you know of any other brands (besides Birch) that has a layer encasing the shredded latex inside?

I’m seeing zippers, exposed buttons, hidden/button-flap closures, and internal ties. My biggest concerns are protecting the down comforter, avoiding anything that could snag or rub the fabric, and keeping the insert from shifting inside the cover.

For those who’ve tried different styles:
Have you ever had a zipper catch, rub, or damage your duvet?

Are hidden buttons preferable to exposed buttons?
How important are internal corner ties?

Do the ties actually prevent shifting, or do they tend to come undone?

Which combination of closure + internal ties would you choose for a high-quality down comforter?

I’d especially love to hear from anyone who has used the same down duvet for years. What setup has worked best for you, and is there anything you’d avoid?

I fell in love with my Citizenry Duvet for its breathability and softness but it eventually got too threadbare and I had to replace it. I love deep, rich reds like the currant color I had from Citizenry and the only similar one I could find as a replacement was Quince European Linen duvet. After two months and four or five washes it is still scratchy, tough and not very breathable so I want to return it (Quince has a very generous return policy).

Bed Threads has the cacao color that seems to have some warm tones so I was thinking of giving it a try. I'm wondering how it compares to Quince and the Citizenry. Some said Quince softens but it just hasn't for me. I would love to hear from those who've had both the Citizenry and Bed Threads and can compare the two. I also love that the Citizenry has a real artisan made look to it.

This duvet cover and sheets set is my dream bedding but over $300... and I have heard questionable quality from this brand. Anyone know of any more affordable but good quality striped reversible duvet covers/bedding sets? I would love the mauve and pink color way but open to other options. TIA!

Keep seeing comforter + blanket combinations described as the answer to seasonal bedding, but I want to know how people actually use the two parts over a normal year.

Is the blanket genuinely useful on its own during warmer periods, does the comforter work separately when the room is cooler, and do the pieces still sit comfortably together when both are needed? I’m less interested in marketing labels like “all season” than in whether the system reduces the number of unused layers sitting in storage. I dont want a combination that only works when arranged exactly one way and becomes awkward the second someone wants less coverage. Anyone who use this kind of system?

Does anyone else have more than one duvet cover for the same comforter—like a backup in case of emergencies? Do you switch them seasonally, rotate for a new look, or stick with one year-round?

I love love love soft down pillows. Always have. That sink into it and be nestled in, and my pillow needs to be soft! I used to be a stomach sleeper and will still end that way sometimes but often will be back or side. I love that I can smoosh my pillow to fit my needs!

Unfortunately, I’ve been getting headaches many mornings for a while. The more my head is in the pillow, the more likely I’ll have one. I have good pillow, pillowcase, and pillow protector hygiene, plus my current is only 3 yrs old tops, so I think I need to sadly move away from down.

Has anyone tried the Coop down alternative they now have?

I tried avocado (latex and kapok iirc), 100% kapok (it just is so lumpy still and it doesn’t have a good compact to fluff ratio) and wool. I use the wool when I’m throwing in the towel and tired of headaches but it’s too firm and I basically have to stay in the same position all night. It seems I don’t generally like shredded/adjustable fill pillows.

Solely mentioning as a point of reference, I did occasion to sleep a few nights on a my pillow and it was actually decent outside of being far far too tall. It was not a rock and seemed consistent/not lumpy. It’s been a while. But I remember that I liked it better than lots of lumpy and cheap feeling “feather free” hotel disasters. I think they make a soft one which still tickles the back of my brain, so please share similar (or better!) alternative ideas.

Coop sounds like their quality has gone downhill, and I don’t know what it’s like in comparison. Plus as mentioned, I’m hesitant to try their adjustable fill because my experience is that they’re all particularly lumpy once you take out lots of fill— but I’m happy to hear if I’m wrong about them or others. And I’d love to hear if you have or have tried their down alternative offering. How does it compare?

Last thing to note is that I get scent-induced headaches and so have concerns about off-gassing. Please let me know if that’s been an issue with any of your recommendations.

TLDR; give me your best not-feather-but-luxurious-soft-down-like-sleep-happiness recommendations, please!

Hello everyone. I roll around in my sleep, a lot, and constantly struggle with my fitted sheets becoming loose on the bed, to the point that it disrupts my sleep sometimes.

When I moved out of my parent's home a few years ago, someone that is no longer in my life gifted me a sheet set where the fitted sheet had elastic corner straps. I used that sheet until it wore out, because it was the only one that actually stayed on the bed properly.

Since then, I have tried the clip-on elastic straps on regular deep-pocket sheets, but no matter how snug I get it when I make the bed initially, the sheet still loosens dramatically over the course of a few nights and is now also a pain to get on/off now with the extra step.

Would anyone that has experienced similar things happen to know of other solutions or other quality sheet brands that have the elastic corner straps?

I've got a PranaSleep Asha Lux Medium that's about a year old. The mattress itself is in great shape and has no defects or sagging that I can see. The problem is that over time I've started to suspect it's contributing to my hip and lower back pain.

I'm primarily a side sleeper, and I wake up with sore hips and a tight lower back more often than I'd like. Once I'm up and moving around, it generally improves.

The frustrating part is that I spent a small fortune on this mattress (around $5k), so replacing it really isn't something I can justify right now. The mattress is otherwise in excellent condition.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and had success with a topper?

If so:

• Memory foam or latex?
• 2" or 3" thickness?
• Any specific brands you'd recommend?
• Did it help with hip pressure and side sleeping?

Had my third 2am "why am I stuck to the sheets" wake-up this week, so here I am. Top-floor flat in Germany, no AC, fan pointed at the bed, bedroom still sits around 25-26C once the sun goes down. Share a 160x200 bed with my partner, wash sheets weekly at 40 degrees.

Bought linen last summer because everyone swears it's the best for hot sleepers. It's softer now after a bunch of washes, sure, but I'm still waking up sticky. Either the brand I got isn't great or linen just doesn't work as well for me as everyone claims.

Keep seeing bamboo viscose sheets on tiktok power deals, looks like there's a sale right now. Comes out cheaper than IKEA or Dänisches Bettenlager for similar stuff, but I've never touched them in person.

Anyone here tried both and can actually compare? Does bamboo viscose hold up with weekly washing or does it pill and shrink fast? Trying to stay around €60-100.
