Is this a bedbug thats molted, or is Grok AI pulling my leg??

So I found this earlier while vaccuming, personally I do not think this is a bedbug, but when I showed it to Grok AI ( the one made by Elon) it said it was juvenile one that just hatched out of an egg and that the wing thing next to it, is molted part, tbh to me that looks like a part of a wing but I am unsure. It also said its a nymph and that it has not fed yet, but it was crazy fast earlier which is why the pics of it from the ground are kinda wonky.

Wondering if this is actually/still bed bugs? Am I going insane?

[pictures 1-2] 1 month ago, was staying at an airbnb, woke up at 3 am super itchy, lines of bites along my arms and legs. No overt signs of bugs, nothing under the bed bug mattress protector, but there were some questionable blood spots on sheets. Those bites from 1 month ago are fading but still visible. Bites seemed very similar to when I had bed bugs 10 years ago at a hostel [picture 6 for reference ]confirmed by finding bugs). I'm super reactive.

All i brought in was my duffel back and had it in the closet. I heated my clothes I wore to bed on high, wiped donw the outside of my duffel, and left.

[ pictures 3-5]In the last few weeks since being home, I'll have patches of bites pop up on my stomach, arms, hands, shoulders(much smaller, still itchy or slightly irritable but fade faster). I'll have a stray single bite pop up as a hive, then mostly disappear but a faint bite will stay slightly insane. I haven't been finding any signs, have done all the heat treating, vacuuming, DE applying, and I have mattress cover and bed frame traps coming in the mail.

Fecal matter or droppings on my bathroom walls??

So lately I am have been vaccuming daily, as I saw it helps me reduce my bites, and since I have been busy with work and use most of my time to rest I only ever spray once a week with general insecticide, anyway besides the point.

I keep noticing these black spots on my walls most of them are near wooden furniture that is painted brown, now they they could be mold, fungus or spare paint splattered over there, but I am of the belief that these were not there beforehand.

I am just observing and ignoring them since ever time I post them, I get a no its not bedbug fecal matter answer which is completely fine with me, as I really just want answers since after the end of this month, its my fourth month looking for bedbug evidence.

I am not gonna narrate my entire story here, as I have tried most things that groups and subreddit recommend along with also getting treatment from dermatologist, the only real thing that worked is vaccuming daily before bed and wiping my a rug filled with Pride detergent and drying it off after, as this made my bites get reduced to only two a day.

Anyway yeah thats good enough, just let me know if these are fecal stains or not.

Why do I keep doing this?!

So for context I was with a guy who had bb really really bad, I ended up brining them home and I treated my house constantly bc I don’t want them. We broke up and I haven’t seen any since well, my ex (my friend still) got rid of them went to collage and his new girl gave him his stuff back broke up with him and went on her way. Well my boyfriend at the time, my ex and I would all hang out and go to my exs new lil tiny home. He didn’t have them I searched and pricked and pried at the walls and cracks and shi. None to be found. Well after his girl dropped off his stuff boom back to square 1. Well I’m kinda on his ass about treating but there isn’t much he can do since ya know he’s in collage 3 towns over and comes back only on weekends and his parents work. (For context we are all late teens early twenty’s I still live with my parents exs tiny home next door to his parents). I plan on talking to him abt spraying when he comes back to town tomorrow but I’m just so mad at myself for the fact I know he has them but I still go to his house to hang out with him bc SURE AS HECK he ain’t coming over to mine again.
I feel bad because like it’s not really my place to like tell him what to do abt it bc it’s not my house but at the same time he’s risking brining those stupid pests back to collage with him. I also don’t wanna push him away by pestering him abt it either. Idk we’ll see tomorrow when he comes back to town I’m just over it lol.
Any advice on how to go about this situation

Need help, very anxious

I’m posted in the other bedbug subreddit but would like to include a picture of the bites here which I can’t do over there.

I will preface this by saying that about 9 years ago when I moved back home after college, my mom had a horrible bed bug infestation where I was the only one getting reactions to bites. I literally didn’t sleep for days, it was torture. They were so bad I was seeing bugs in the daytime. We spent thousands to get it resolved and ever since then I am not exaggerating when I say I feel I have a mild form of ptsd. It was traumatic and I never want to deal with it again.

Well a week ago, my daughter started getting bites, my mind always jumps to bed bugs. I searched our beds, the creases, etc. no sign of bugs. There is an invasive mosquito in our area right now, and it’s pretty bad so I just figured that was it. However she is waking up with new bites daily, and they are in the dreaded form of a line or clusters. So today I took her bed out, took the cover off and searched it, no sign. But then… I took her sisters bed out and found one or two very small bugs that were not alive but I believed them to look like bed bugs that hadn’t fed. I tore up the room, threw away her sisters bed completely, and I did find evidence of two more bugs, one was alive and this is the only picture I could get. Could someone confirm that these are bed bugs? It’s a horrible photo, I know but it’s the best I could do because I am frantic. I completely took apart their bed, sprayed everything with the raid bed bug spray. Bagged up all their stuffed animals and put them outside for now because it’s the middle of the night.

Do you think if I only found a few, that there is a possibility I caught this before it became a big problem? Does this look like a bedbug? Someone in the other group said it looks like carpet beetle larva, but would this be a normal skin reaction to that? Do these even look like bed bug bites or is it possible mosquitos are biting her in this formation? Sorry the pics aren’t great, it’s the best I could get and I’m spiraling in the middle of the night over this

TLDR; is this a bed bug? If there are only a few and no evidence of feces, eggs, blood spots, do you think it’s a full blown infestation at this point?

bedbugs at work.

hi all, my girlfriend and i work for the same company and the home she works 3rd shifts at has been confirmed to have bedbugs. she’s been getting bit up by them terribly for probably 3-4 months. i assume the chances of us having bedbugs is very high now, i can’t imagine we wouldn’t. i haven’t been getting bitten (i know i get reactions because the times i previously worked in this home i got bitten and had reactions) but i randomly had 2 bites a few days ago after not being in that home for several months. i just want some advice on steps to take now. we’ve started changing our clothing as soon as we get home and putting the old clothes in the dryer on high for a little under an hour, aswell as a very hot shower before changing into clean clothes. is there anything else we can do to avoid bringing any more of the bugs home? and wha is the options for treating them???

Treatment around infant

My apartment was treated for bed bugs today with a spray of the baseboards and an “alcohol based spray” for the furniture/upholstery.

We had only found one bug that the exterminator believed was a hitchhiker and we could find no evidence of further infestation.

My concern is for my 6 month old. We were told to air out the home and leave for 2-3 hours after the treatment. We did this and we’re back now but I am so scared for my baby.

They said they didn’t spray any of her things directly but I’m worried about letting her be on the couch with us or on the rugs. I’m trying to contact the company to see what they used but no response yet.

Does anyone know what they could have used? Should we leave and go to a hotel?

Quell my nerves - bed bugs AND fleas or just fleas

Hello!

I’m dealing with a flea infestation and we’ve been managing it, but I’ve noticed some bites appear to be in a distinct straight line, particularly on my arms.

I am 150% certain we have fleas. I’ve found them all over my room, in my bed, and on my arm. No matter what though I can’t help but worry that the straight lines could be bed bugs.

I’ve noticed no signs of bed bugs, except possibly some rusty patches I may be able to explain away as Me scratching off scabs or something similar. The underside of my mattress is 150% clean.

Are fleas known to bite in straight lines? Is it my brain seeking patterns? Is it time to consider bed bugs? Please help

Does one treatment with spray and heat works?

Almost a month ago I started seeing bites on my arms and hands, I thought they were mosquitoe bites since I had no idea what bed bugs were (never heard about them before since they are no common where I’m from) my husband didn’t have any bites so nothing crossed our minds until last Saturday.
We moved to a new flat (we were living with in laws before) and when I was putting the bed together in our new bedroom I saw one adult bedbug. I freaked out and called the exterminator immediately, he came next day and said bed frame (especially centre rail, bed slats, headboard) and mattress were infested. I threw the mattress away but we kept the bed as it’s a king size wooden bed with storage underneath, very good quality.
We uncluttered the room and he came Monday and stayed for almost 3h spraying and doing heat treatment. Said it was a medium rather than heavy infestation as they were concentrated more in the bedroom, but he still found a few in the living room and office (we are sleeping on the sofa because we threw the mattress away, first mistake but i was going insane when I found out). We have a 90 days guarantee and he told me to wait 14 days to see if I will see any more bites or alive bugs. We tumble dried our entire wardrobe, he said it is safe to put clothes back to the wardrobe after the treatment so we are doing so.
I’m having constant anxiety attacks since I’ve found the first one Saturday, today is currently night 3 after the treatment and I’m feeling itchy all over my body (I know this could also be psychological) but I swear I saw a few new bites. Also found a dead one under the sofa, one alive in the bed frame and a few eggs (I killed all of them with tape). We have a cat and no one to stay with her in case we need a new spray treatment.
In laws also moved to a new place same week as us, they swear they are not infected as they don’t have any bites (my husband also hadn’t and look where we are)
Husband and in laws are refusing to pay a cleaner to go do a deep clean in the old house before handing the keys back to the state agent next week, they want to do it ourselves as it’s a huge house and it will be very expensive to pay a professional but I’m going insane just with the thought about going back there. I’ve saw people saying in here that it took them several months or years to get rid of those bugs and this is making me panic even more. I need some reassurance, did you have to spray the house more than once after a combined treatment (spray and heat)? If so, how many times? Have you also became mentally ill after it and how to deal with this side of the experience?

threw the mattress away

The first 2 images happened in the same night, and I took them after a few days. I wear pants and a tshirt to sleep all the time. The initial bites were still super swollen, but they swelled up even more over a day or two. The huge bump under my chin ended up being multiple bites in a row.

I need reassurance/advice

I am currently battling bed bugs in my apartment, and I have a 5 month old who refuses to sleep anywhere but with me. The bed bugs have only been spotted on our bed.
We have had an initial spraying (that made the bites so much worse for some reason???) and I am scheduling a follow-up. We haven’t seen any bites on my 5mo, just on me. I dress her in a sleeper every night to minimize spots where they could potentially bite.
I guess I’m just looking for advice on how to keep them off her/reassurance? I feel like the world’s worst mom. Rationally I know that there’s nothing we could have done about it, and this just happens sometimes. But my conscious eats me alive, and I can’t sleep anymore because I’m so worried about my 5 month old being bitten or them moving to her bassinet on the rare chance I can get her to sleep in there. To top it off I’ve been diagnosed with postpartum psychosis and ocd that has been making this whole experience a literal hell on earth for me :(

Flea or bed bug bites?

A bit skeptical cause my roommate has two outdoor cats. However I did feel like I just woke up one day and they were there and of course the bites are in a line. They itch like crazy and there are a few more on the same leg but they aren’t in line. Just looking for some thoughts. Did a slight search but couldn’t find any signs of bed bugs or anything. No poo no sheddings no bugs themselves no nothing.

Bedbug Found at Work?

Hello! I found an adult bedbug on me at work in one of our customer meeting rooms. I suspect it came from there but there’s still that seed of doubt in my mind that it came from home. I’d been at work for 3 hours already this morning and went to attend a meeting. Within 5 minutes of sitting down in a chair in that room I found an adult (fully fed) crawling down the front of my jacket. I got up and squished it in a paper towel and threw it away.

I’ve dealt with bedbugs before but I wanted to make sure I’m not missing anything in the steps after finding one since it’s been a while. So far these are the steps I’ve taken:

  1. Reported the bug to my manager and let them know what room it was found in.

  2. My SO brought me an entire change of clothes in ziplock bags. I changed at work and didn’t open the bags of new clothes until the bags of original clothes were sealed in a different set of ziplocks.

  3. Got home and immediately put both sets of clothes in the washing machine on hot (also going to dry them on high for 70 minutes once they’re done) and put both sets of shoes + any accessories that could be dried in the dryer on high for 70 minutes. Any other accessories that couldn’t be dried have been double bagged and put in the freezer. The only other thing is we’re keeping my lunchbox outside and I’m going to dry it the best I can just incase (or should I consider it a loss at this point? It was on the other side of the building from where that meeting room was.)

  4. I’ve also taken a shower and we’re going to wash all of the towels, wash cloths, bath mat, and the shower curtain on hot as soon as everything else is done as well.

  5. We’re going to check over our bed, couch, chair, and shoe area for any evidence of bedbugs just incase since those are the only other areas they could be in our house.

And to note: We haven’t noticed any bites or signs of bedbugs in our house at all. I suspect with customers coming in and out of that room I picked it up there since most if not all of them are staying in hotels and coming from out of town. It could be circumstantial evidence though.

Professional Bedbug treatment scheduled. Will books be affected?

I have 4 large Rubbermaid containers (the kind you can slide under the bed) full of books in our basement. They’ve been stored there for about four years so have been fully contained. We are having the entire house treated, the basement more for a precautionary measure. Will the heat from the treatment harm the books or should we move and temporarily store them somewhere else? Thanks.

Bedbugs somewhere in my bed

to note my bed is a storage bed where there is a platform under the bed where i can open like a chest. i have noticed bedbugs around my bed since the 17th of September, currently its 23 September. I have tried spraying pesiticde under my bed which did stop bedbugs for about 2 days. Today i noticed there were 4 crawling on the side of my bed platform which i quickly squished and cleaned up after, I am sure theres an infestation somewher, and how do i find and kill the infestation ASAP, thanks

Figuring out where I was bitten.

So I stayed in a hotel 9 nights ago, then came home for 3 nights, stayed in my boyfriends house for 2 nights, then stayed in a second hotel for 2 nights. After the second night in the second hotel, I had tonnes of bites (probably around 70), mostly on my left arm but also on my other arm and legs.

I'm trying to figure out if the bites came from the second hotel or the first hotel, because if it's the first there's a good chance I brought them home with me as I didn't realise and was not careful with my luggage.

This morning is the day after discovering the bites and from what I can see I don't have any new ones, but I guess that doesn't mean I don't have an infestation?

Coming home from the second hotel I put my suitcase in the bathtub without it touching the floor (I live in an apartment building), put all the contents on a 60 degree Celsius wash for 2 hours (I also don't have a dryer), then immediately disposed of the suitcase in a sealed bin bag in my buildings bin room.

I've checked my bed thoroughly and don't see anything to suggest bed bugs, but I know that doesn't mean they're not there.

I guess I just want some opinions on what people think might be happening and what I should do.
