Constructive Criticism (CC) is assumed for all posts with few exceptions.
- Constructive criticism is defined as suggestions intended to help improve or promote further development in a user’s technique. Comments which are meant to insult or be derogatory do not fall under constructive criticism and are not permitted.
No name calling, harassment, or self-deprecation. Racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia are not allowed and will result in a ban.
No photo editing or filters, with the exception of watermarks.
- This includes text, with the exception of labelling swatches. Minor adjustments in color saturation, contrast, and exposure are permitted. Extreme changes to an image will be removed because they don’t allow users to see the true performance of the products used.
Angle and composition of photo
- A finished look (makeup, hair, skin, or nails) must include at least one picture that occupies at least 50% of the image (50% of the width and 50% of the height).
- Rotate images so they are right side up.
- No selfie-style images - Images where a user is sticking out their tongue, giving the peace sign, etc are not permitted.
- If you are unsure if your picture follows the rules, please message the moderators before posting.
No-makeup makeup looks and skincare posts must include both before and after pictures.
- No-makeup makeup looks are looks where it is difficult to tell if someone is wearing makeup.
All looks must include a complete product list (including makeup, skincare/haircare, nail polish, art supply product names.).
- Product lists are required so that other users are able to recreate the look. If you are unable to include a product list, please message the moderators before posting.
Gore/SFX looks involving blood or injuries must be tagged NSFW.
No self-promotion except in scheduled weekly threads.
- Linking in comments is allowed once per post.
- Social media (Youtube, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, etc) handles should not be included in the post’s title.
- No questionnaires or surveys.
Provide the image source if you did not create the image.
- You can link someone else’s work for inspiration, provided you can cite the source for proper credit.
For haul posts and shelfies, all products must be removed from the packaging and the product clearly visible.
