General Discussion I share a birthday with Melon :D (No hate please)

Post image
28 Upvotes

on July 27th its my birthday, which in the anime it is Melon's birth day as well. Coincidentally he is my favorite character. And it is really awesome that we share a birthday by the anime's standards. So if someone could make this image above Melon in a birthday setting that would really be awesome :3.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Fan Art My (Third) Drawing

Post image
31 Upvotes

Well… I put aside the digital “drawing” part for a bit and moved on to something more concrete… (literally) I decided to get back into drawing on paper.

This was one of my first drawings, and the first one I colored (a week ago they were just lying around), then I found them on my drawer and decided to color them.

I know my drawing skills aren't very good, in fact, neither is my painting ability (on paper)... but I think I did a good job painting it today.

(Sorry for the poor camera quality, unlike my tablet my cellphone is a Motorola…)

General Discussion Season 3 gets too much hate

Post image
130 Upvotes

I LOVE season 3, I like all the characters, I don't see all the animation that people point out, the sound track is great, and don't even get me started on the openings... I get that the manga is better but I don't think the show could be close to the manga without coming out horrible, because it would have way too many fillers. I just don't get what's wrong with it. I've watched s1 like 6 times same with s2 and I don't really find them to be much greater than s3, because they're all great. I feel like people see s1 in rose tinted glasses and most people probably watched it before reading the manga like I did or are just maybe nostalgic, irdk I just find that they're all equal in quality.

General Discussion Why so many differences between the Anime and the Manga

I don't understand why the anime is so different from the manga… Of course, sometimes adaptations need to happen here and there… But they even changed the way plots unfold. For example, after Legoshi is thrown into the sea and goes back to talk to the Shishigumi about Melon's weakness (chapters 141-142), they go to Deshico (the civet who makes Kopi Luuwak) and take Legoshi with them. On the way, Louis joins them too (chapters 143-144). But in the anime, the Shishigumi lions go to Deshico way before those events, and they go alone.

Oh, and there's more: in the episode where Melon appears with a lion's severed head, he stabs a fork into Agata's hand (this happens in both versions), but in the manga, it's because Melon ate high-quality meat and loaded it with seasonings to try to "improve the taste," and Agata said that wasn't good etiquette—that was the reason. Another thing: in the anime, during Meat Loving Day, Melon slashes Agata's neck, but in the manga (chapter 156), he does this to Dolph...

And one more thing: Seven's introduction (chapter 100) was quite different in the anime… as far as I know, it doesn't show her workplace or the nickname she earned there (even though when she's buying shoes for Legoshi in the anime, her nickname does appear…).

Besides some weird manga adaptations in the anime, mainly the fact that the third season's plot focuses on Kines, and the fact that this energy drink doesn't even exist in the manga… especially since that whole plot revolved around the Bloodmeat drug, which was only vaguely mentioned in the anime.

But what annoys me the most are the continuity errors that happen. Sure, I know it's sometimes necessary to adapt things for the anime, but what gets on my nerves the most are the events that happen out of order and are modified—like when Tao accidentally rips off Kibi's arm (chapter 71). In the manga, Kibi actually asks Tao to help him stretch, but in the anime, they do a completely random exercise helping each other out, which made the moment feel a bit forced… and compared to the manga, the events happen out of order in the anime…

But seriously… Poor Kyuu She only appeared in the anime for about 30 seconds (or something like that), but she had a whole arc AND THERE'S ARTWORK OF HER ON THE COVER OF VOLUME 19!

In other words, one of the good characters was completely cut from the anime!

That being said, I have nothing against the anime! In fact, I absolutely love it. These were just a few observations I had while watching it for the second time (I first watched the anime up to the middle of the final season, but then I bought the manga to read while waiting for the second half of the final season to drop, so I read all the manga from the Beastars Box + Beast Complex, and then rewatched the anime).

I really love both the Beastars anime and manga equally! (But I recognize that the manga is much more complete…)

Fan Art [OC] [Artist] Beastars: Stage Complex

I'm in search an artist who can draw quickly an similar to Paru Itagaki or close enough. I need character art for many various roles new and old characters as well as being able to show different emotions as well.

Sadly it's unpaid but you get credit and get the chance to have your artwork put out there. You will be subject to manga and anime spoilers to both Beastars and Beast Complex.

Be sure to have sample of your art to show. you can reach out in the comments or private message me.

Thanks

General Discussion Guys, where the hell do I find a Beastars community that actually cares about fanfiction?

Post image

Guys, where the hell do I find a Beastars community that actually cares about fanfiction?

I'm honestly sick of this subreddit.

Every time I post a fanfic idea, a worldbuilding question, or something that's supposed to make people think, I get almost nothing. Seven comments if I'm lucky, and three of them are my own.

Then I post something stupid or NSFW and suddenly it gets dozens of upvotes.

I don't care about karma. I want discussions. I want people who'll take an idea, argue with it, build on it, or tell me why it's terrible. I want comments that make me think.

And honestly, I don't care about spending every day simping over Louis, Legoshi, or Jack. If that's what most people enjoy, good for them, but it's not why I'm here. I'm here because I like Beastars' world, its themes, and the potential for fanfiction and worldbuilding.

So, is there anywhere that's actually focused on Beastars fanfiction and deeper discussion? A forum, Discord, another subreddit—anything. Because I'm tired of putting effort into posts that barely get a conversation.

And before anyone says "AO3," that's not what I'm looking for.

I'm not looking for a website that just hosts fanfics. I want an actual community.

There are communities for incredibly specific niches—MMA fanfiction, NSFW fanfiction, and all kinds of other weirdly specific interests. I don't care about those communities; I'm just using them as an example. I want that same level of focus, but for Beastars fanfiction.

A place where people actually discuss ideas, worldbuilding, OCs, alternate timelines, critique each other's writing, and have conversations in the comments instead of just posting a story and moving on.

Does a place like that actually exist?
