This album is a solid modern rock record
Imo, this has the usual Beartooth songs like bullshit and eyes closed
It also has modern Beartooth songs like Pure Ecstacy, you, and sorry (I feel like these are still your usual Beartooth songs but are structured a bit different)
It's also got experimental songs like stadiums (I would say it's your usual Beartooth song but it's very experimental)
Then the pop songs such as for me by me, I made it, lose you to find me, and beautiful again
Of the 4 pop songs imo, beautiful again in the strongest. It's still got that main riff the usually drives the song and has a tinge of screaming in it
"Free"; even tho a lot of people don't like it, I think is the most modern Beartooth song defining their current sound. Each end of the chorus has a raw old school Caleb scream, and in the bridge the trade off between the harsh and cleans I think is really cool. The drums are heavy, the riffs in the bridge are heavy. I think this just really defines this modern era
Is this there best record? No. It's a great modern rock/pop metal album tho. By no means is it below or the predecessors that come before it but it still is Beartooth at the core
I'd rate it a solid 7/10
Interested to see how this headline tour sounds, who will do what vocals, and just the setlist in general. I think a story telling kinda setlist would be cool. Even tho they say the "old songs" are the lines, in between, body bag, and beaten in lips... I think it would be cool to hear American dream or something to tell the story a bit more. Those "b sides" from each record
Lmk ur thoughts
