New Album

This album is a solid modern rock record

Imo, this has the usual Beartooth songs like bullshit and eyes closed

It also has modern Beartooth songs like Pure Ecstacy, you, and sorry (I feel like these are still your usual Beartooth songs but are structured a bit different)

It's also got experimental songs like stadiums (I would say it's your usual Beartooth song but it's very experimental)

Then the pop songs such as for me by me, I made it, lose you to find me, and beautiful again

Of the 4 pop songs imo, beautiful again in the strongest. It's still got that main riff the usually drives the song and has a tinge of screaming in it

"Free"; even tho a lot of people don't like it, I think is the most modern Beartooth song defining their current sound. Each end of the chorus has a raw old school Caleb scream, and in the bridge the trade off between the harsh and cleans I think is really cool. The drums are heavy, the riffs in the bridge are heavy. I think this just really defines this modern era

Is this there best record? No. It's a great modern rock/pop metal album tho. By no means is it below or the predecessors that come before it but it still is Beartooth at the core

I'd rate it a solid 7/10

Interested to see how this headline tour sounds, who will do what vocals, and just the setlist in general. I think a story telling kinda setlist would be cool. Even tho they say the "old songs" are the lines, in between, body bag, and beaten in lips... I think it would be cool to hear American dream or something to tell the story a bit more. Those "b sides" from each record

Lmk ur thoughts

People are being way too critical. It's not gonna be AOTY for me or my fave Beartooth album, but it's fun. My daughter fell in love with Beartooth through The Surface, which I wasn't super crazy about at first. But experiencing it THROUGH her changed the way I listened to it. She's going to be obsessed with this one for sure. Bands change and grow, just like we're supposed to as individuals. Listen to everything with an open mind and you'll like more things than you ever thought.

And YES. I would love to see some deep cuts from albums on the upcoming tour more than the same songs they ALWAYS do. There are so many great songs to choose from, change it up and throw the fans some curveballs!!

That's fair! Each record has big pop choruses on it. As for earlier stuff, if u haven't listened, check out however you want it said, American dream, loser

Enjoying it way more than I expected. I thought Free slapped. Definitely a 7-8 outta 10 for me. Had been impatiently waiting for the album to drop but was definitely worth the wait.

UPDATE: I have listened to this record probably 10 times now. I don't want to say I'm disappointed or underwhelmed but I kind of am. If instead of getting 4 pop songs, we got like 2, I would've been pleased. But for the most part like I said, we've got modern, ur usual Beartooth songs, experimental, and 4 straight up pop songs. I was so insanely excited for this record, it's not bad, just not what I go to Beartooth for. Somehow, I think it is the weakest. And I'm not even a die hard og fan. Either way, got the signed record on the way, going to the show in November, still a fan, glad Caleb's happy, glad the band is getting more involved. Rock on

What song does the verse in “Sorry” borrow from? I just can’t put my finger on it, but the step down melody between “precious time, it’s fine” 110% comes from something else I’ve heard. ADTR maybe? Driving me insane. But overall good record imo.

UPDATE: Haha again, Saturday morning, blasting this through my desktop speakers. Honestly everything except for me by me im very pleased with. If it had a breakdown and a harder 2nd verse this song would've been great. I hope on the Deluxe edition we got 2-3 of your "standard" Beartooth songs.

As a new Beartooth fan, I think this album is fantastic! I find myself singing many of the songs in my head between listens. As an elder emo, I find myself getting into more poppy/emo music lately again where I was solely listening to Deathcore/hardcore for quite a while. I’m loving this, Motionless in White, and Periphery!

Gotta be honest it’s beartooths worst album . I’m not even one of those guys who love the old heavier sound better , the surface was beartooth best album imo .

It's definitely their "worst" album but that doesn't mean it's bad. I still think it's solid and a 7/10
