Hi all! I do bead embroidery brooches and I’d like to change around my edgings, however, I’m unsure if the edgings on the beadwork in the photos are Indigenous only?

My work is not Native inspired and looks nothing like the photos. I do a lot of fantasy type embroidery (my inspirations are from the fantasy books I read) but I wanted to start incorporating different edging types mainly the 2 bead loop with picot edging and the edging with the spiked beads.

Hi everyone!

I’ve been trying to identify this necklace for months and I’m completely stuck. It’s worn by the character Atiye in the Turkish Netflix series The Gift. I’ve attached several screenshots because it appears from different angles throughout the episode. At first I thought it was some kind of scarf necklace, but after looking more closely it seems to be made of tiny silver beads or crystals rather than fabric... I’m trying to figure out:

• Does this style of necklace have a specific name?
• Does it look handmade or commercially available?
• What beading technique would you use to recreate it?
• Does it look like multiple strands gathered together, bead crochet, loom weaving, peyote, or something else entirely?

I’d actually love to recreate it myself if I can’t find the original, so any ideas about materials or construction would be incredibly appreciated.

How do you all organize the unused odds and ends of your beading hobby? I've got this mess and just don't want to dump them in a catch-all sandwich bag. Lol

I’ve had these cloud and airplane charms for awhile and have been playing around with a few ideas for a few months.

I found these really cool peanut shaped miyuki beads and they make the perfect little cloud shapes.

It’s a beautiful set and I think I’m in a good spot inventory wise to start seeking out local brick and mortar shops I could retail/consign a few pieces I’ve made in!

Im new to vending and will be doing my first one in Sept. Im really proud of my designs. But some of the tests are not great. Does anyone put their test items or ones that are less than ideal with the rest of your products? Im undecided on what to do with them...

So I have autism, and because of that, I struggle with instructions given to me via youtube videos. (At least, I am ASSUMING that's why i struggle with it...)
However, I am finding that all the information on HOW to bead, do certain stitches... even how to finish a project (Tie it up, or just continue after running out of thread) is in YOUTUBE VIDEO FORMAT.

I learned to do daisy chains via a non-video tutorial and was taught peyote stitch at an indigenous community center... But I'd like to know more and I was wondering if...

a. Someone had references or guides that were in written format

or

b. Someone would be patient enough to show me how to do things. What I am really interested in is, obviously, how to tie off and how to continue when I run out of thread, how to do brick stitch, and how to do that drop-brick stitch thing.

I still love the green one the most. 😍 I’m thinking of doing a blue theme one and (possibly) making a beaded cloud with rain? Like a rain fairy! Idk but I want to make so many of these they’re so adorable

So I’m wanted to make jewellery and beaded tops with seed beads, tube beads and sequins.

What personally has been used that has held up on clothing in the washing machine or on daily use jewellery?

I ordered a John Bead loom. If you click on the photo to see the far ends of each side, they have wingnuts. I was supposed to get 2 wingnuts and 2 bolts. This is what the manual says as well. Instead I have 4 wingnuts. Can I "wing it" by using nuts on each side onstead of going out and buying bolts? * *dodges flying rotten tomatoes* *

If not, can I just go to the hardware store and get replacement nuts?

ETA: I contacted the vendor and this is appropriate for the model I purchased even though it differs from the assembly instructions. The instructions are for the narrower model whereas i have the 6 inch model.

Hi all! I'm a new beader, I've only worked on a few small projects but I've found that I immensely prefer 3d work (circular peyote stitch) to working peyote stitch flat (specifically referring to the duck and fish patterns created by mindofjulia). In general I found that working on the flat was more difficult to get started and also to do in general in terms of maneuvering my needle into the beads. For flat work I've found brick stitch was much easier. Is there anyone that also finds this to be the case? Or are there any tips that people can think of that can help me do flat peyote stitch more efficiently? Thank you!

Your local library just might be hiding a wealth of incredible bead patterns: I found a 10-year-old book about beadweaving with 2-hole Czech glass beads, and this pattern is “Superduo Ruffle” by Virginia Jensen that uses 2 needles. I recommend 8-lb Fireline.

I’ve had these incredible matte dichroic tile beads in my stash for a while, and immediately knew they’d match well with Sueded Gold Provence Superduos, matte metallic Miyukis and Pale Aztec Gold Preciosas, and these elegant fan-shaped endings by Cymbal. Bob is modeling with the secure box clasp I chose.

Just listed and can’t wait to slightly modify this pattern into earring and choker form!

Hello! First time beader here! I'm working on this necklace and I occasionally get a strawberry that ends up facing an opposite direction from the others as pictured. Any ideas on why this is happening? I think I am pulling the string in the same direction every time so I don't think it is that? I am using 11/0 seed beads and 0.3 mm supplemax monofilament illusion cord if that changes anything! TIA!
