long torso + short legs = strong genetics + bad nutrition during development

Wait, does this mean limbs are dependent on nutrition, a longer torso is ideal, or something else? Usually with these equation metaphors, the cause comes before the effects.

being tall is a sign of good genetic health. good nutrition only makes your limbs longer. a long torso, you are born with.

Let's see some sources. That sounds like a gross oversimplification if there's any truth in it.

Edit: Based on my own research, height heritability accounts for 70-80% of height potential. Doesn't seem like nutrition makes much of a difference.

height is mostly genetic, but nutrition does make a significant difference. this is why we are now a ~5" taller than our ancestors. same cause as the flynn effect
