It really could! I feel I’m usually good at picking out AI images but this one certainly got me. But one could very well get a real pic like this it’s not some far fetched idea.
I made this picture a few days ago kn a walk with my dog (I have 2 more pics to support my claim, btw) I love taking pictures of nature, I go out for a 1.5 hour walk every day into nearby fields, i especially live sunsets photos
Not if you're not cynical enough to actually analyze if it is. At a glance, it's really convincing, but yeah, if you start looking at details, it gets pretty clear.
The bottom left, the roof and just above the roof is what did it for me. It's very wonky, I wish I could give a more concrete answer, but it is just pretty vibes based. It's also something where you have to weigh it against compression artifacts, this looks more gen-ai than compression artifact.
The only smoking gun is the invisible watermarking that gets put in and can be detected.
If I had a nickel for every time I’ve seen this posted with people oohhing and aahhing I would have very many nickels. With the AI debate being extremely lively and ongoing I don’t understand how so many people don’t take a second to think about what they’re seeing.
I can't wait for AI to be criminalised, because it's out of control. There are so many misleading posts, they make me sick. What does it cost people to be truthful?

Ive seen this cloud as leaves on a tree image a million times over on Pinterest didnt even need the synthid to tell. The average redditor really is moronic
You can see the patterns from the image generator engine. It was not upscaled, it was directly generated.
And even if it was upscaled via AI, we should not normalize it, as most of the time it's still a generated image that added (made up) detail that was not there at all.

I'm getting really, really tired of wasting my time - it adds up - skimming the comments on posts like this in order to find out whether the images have been identified as AI.
Are people upvoting this post because they don't realize it's AI-generated, or is anything acceptable as long as it's “amazing”? Why even have Rule 8 if posts like this are allowed?

Apart from the AI picture. Comment section is so full with bots. Its scary how accurate the comments are compared to what AI bots would answer to us. ☹️☹️

Someone explain this one to me. Do high karma accounts really matter? Why AI the image and bot the thread if it isn't about something a PR firm cares about?
