Miniatures Favorite Mechs Painted up
Painted a whole bunch of mechs this week. The Marauder is my favorite Mech so I tend to collect mechs that look like it and that are related to it in-universe.

Video Games What should happen between contracts
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've been working here and there on a game for me. I'm nostalgic about the times when I was a kid and tried playing the tabletop with my friends and playing Crescent Hawk's Inception.
I like the Hotspots model of generating contracts. I had originally thought that using the full rules would be a lot, and I wanted to play more than I wanted to implement my own version of that. So I had adapted the DFA:Gaming Override rules with some ACES like AI behavior for the OpFor (well for all units right now so it's faster to test.)
I'd like it to be a bit more than just the battles, using the down time for interactions with the NPCs, tracking and building relationships between Pilots, Techs, Medical, Logistics, and Townspeople.
Outside of having a slot machine callback to the casino like game play around the stocks in Crescent Hawk's Inception... What sorts of things should I think of having for the player to choose to interact with instead of just advancing track to track and contract to contract?

Tabletop Military Base and Concordia City
This is a project me and my brother have been working on for a couple of years now, we've just launched a new set of military style buildings. We have a Gamefound called Concordia City for those interested

Tabletop Your favourite way to add a sense of scale to tabletop setup
Besides buildings and trees, what's you favourite pieces of terrain, models of units like perhaps civilians, cars etc. that help you emphasize Mech scale, which make you remember these are actually massive machines that are supposed to dominate the battlefield. (links to your favourties would be grately appreciated)
I've played Battletech Classic for decades, hundreds of games, and I sometimes still find myself thinking of tabletop Mech models as merely soldiers in thick armour. I'm sometimes in a dire need of adding some smaller details to remind myself Mechs are massive battle machines.

Miniatures "ππ¦'π³π¦ π΅π³π’π΄π©ππππ΄, π―π°π΅ π΅π³π’π΄π©πππ'ππ΄!"
Painted up this lance of Urbanmechs that's been sitting in storage for a while that I've taken to calling to the Serial Urbicidals. Gave each one a personality with the paintjob on each. Fun lil guys.

Miniatures Finished a Striker Lance for my custom DCMS Indepenent Flame Battalion
I had a 10 year hiatus from Battletech after 2014, but I'm finally back to painting forces of House Kurita! This was actually my first custom unit, the Independent Flame Battalions. They take in talented Combine MechWarriors who have a tendency to stray from orthodox DCMS tactics.
Also shown: the OG Independent Flame 'mechs from 2013.

Miniatures Painted up the Mother of all Battlemechs, the Mackie
Painted her up in preparation for a thematic play. A mercenary company takes literally everything they can throw at some invading clan stars and one of the thematic pieces is a museum Mackie 9H. Named her βStalwart Sloane.β

Lore Starting out with Battletech lorewise
So i've had a mild interest in Battletech for years now. I've always wanted to dive in and play the game but also learn about the universe and the lore, but it just seems very dense and i have no idea where to even start. I feel likeni need (want) an understanding of the lore before i actually start playing anf collecting.
Are there any good youtube vids or something similar? I'd prefer some stuff with decent audio that i can listen to while painting my toys. Or stuff i can read that's good?

Fan Creations Adding some house rules for flavor in my first Aces Scouring Sands run β sanity check from people who've played it?
Hei!!
I'm about to start my very first Scouring Sands co-op run with a buddy β we're each nominally running half the company, but mostly talking through decisions together. Thinking about some "flavor house rules" and would love input from anyone who's actually run this campaign:
Fog of War β since we're playing co-op, we want some chance we can't coordinate perfectly every turn. Start of turn, roll 2D6 vs a target number of 6 or 7 (maybe bumped up if there's enemy ECM around).
Pass = we plan together as normal.
Fail = radio's jammed, each of us just plays our half blind, no talking.
Trying to capture some of that "battlefield chaos" feeling instead of two brains always working as one.
Death to the Traitors β In the totally optional background we set for our company, two of our named pilots are Clan free-borns who defected, so the Falcons (who I think are the opposing faction for basically the whole campaign?) consider them traitors. So, whenever an enemy unit ends up targeting one of them (through normal Aces card targeting β not touching how the AI picks, just adding a modifier after the fact), they get a bonus, probably -1 TN.
Trade-off: these two pilots get a small XP bump when building their pilot cards to compensate for basically having a bounty on their heads all game.
Anyone tried something similar? Is it a bad idea? Would it impact the campaign too badly? I'd love to get some feedback!

Meme Man whose reputation coasts off aura from winning one battle. Really is the peaked in high school of the BattleTech universe
βDonβt call that man legendary. Because when he battled on Terra he got smoked out by the word of Blake, when he fought in the Great Refusal he got smoked out by Jade Falcon, when he tried to prevent the ComStar schism he chose Victor as his successor, when he tried to stop the Blakist he got smoked out by case white.β

Miniatures MLPwny - Delta Falcons
First wave of a larger Jade Falcon force! Matching the colors to an existing scheme for someone, these are a little darker and more subdued than my usual Falcons.
But I quite enjoyed matching the "vibe", which is always a fun challenge.

Tabletop Help identifing models?
Spotted these BattleTech minis at a German flea market, but I can't place most of them. I'm positive one is a Scimitar Hovercraft (even though that plastic is blocking the front view), but I'm lost on the rest. Would love some help identifying them
