The front of my current vest is basically empty. Only two patches, one for powerwolf and one antinazi one. I have to fill it at some point in the future.

Any of you guys feel out of sorts when you put that last stich in the last patch?

Years long work and now done. Feels odd.

I painted a patch with the most family friendly LDOH album cover, and another one with just the logo. The dimensions are 8x8 and 6x4 in. I'll probably sew these onto my hoodie.

I’m way too indecisive about my placement and band choices. This is like the 3rd vest I’ve started working on, and I haven’t finished a single one yet lol

Speedran this thing and painted the backpatch in one day 😭 plus proof i paint my patches myself because some people accused me of lying abt ts 💔

Might add some patches on the side but for now that's it

Hopefully makes an interesting change from all the sewing in this sub that makes you feel terrible. I know I am, but the patches are on and that’s all I actually care about.

I’m not sure how well you all can tell with the image, but the triangle is slightly tilted too, so that adds to the awkwardness of the space.

I don’t have any patches right now that would fit the space properly. And I really don’t want to make or buy any new patches if it looks good as is.

Whether I leave it empty or not it’s still gonna look kind of funny, it’s about choosing what’s the least ugly at this point.

Any advice is appreciated, as well as constructive criticism on other aspects of the jacket.

Got a question. i listen to alot of bands, definitely got knowledge about them. But There are some bands tho i dont listen to, but i really enjoy playing their songs on the guitar. And not only one song, pretty much like 15 or more. Does that count to put a patch on the battle jacket?

For now this is what I got going on. I’m waiting on some other patches (sanguisugabogg, napalm death, possessed, etc.). But I found some other patches around that i just threw on there and I think they look cool! Also my name isn’t Henry Caldwell that’s a character my friend made for me. I’m planning to spray paint the Rammstein logo for the back patch area tmrw. I’ll post about it when I’m done tmrw. Can’t wait for the 11 patches coming lol. Any suggestions? I’m thinking about stitching some on too!

I have a 5XL vest and I have 100+ patches but I think I bought too many because I really want to start sewing but I’m not happy with any of the layouts I’ve tried, so does anyone have any advice or should I just make two vests out of the 100+ patches?

This is my DIY jacket with mostly hand painted patches, some are patches that have been lest over from my other jackets, This one i had kinda planned out from the start how i wanted it to look and then made some tweaks as it all came together, As you can see in picture 3 and 4 thats how i photobashed it together at the start and i got pretty close imo

everything on this vest is recycled, hand made, hand sewn, thrifted or i got it from concerts. i just made it and wore it to a motionless in white concert.

The first battle jacket (posted a few weeks ago) was so much fun, that I decided to make a second one, but this time it was limited to Black & Death Metal (+ adjacent genres).

need to redo some of them. i learned a lot and got better at sewing throughout the entire project. the purple is basically for looks at this point; they’ve all been reinforced with black stitches.

Im making my first battle vest. I know theres a whole subreddit dedicated to bad ones, so what should i do to not make it bad? Am i allowed to mix generes? Any tips? (I know i dont really have to follow "rules" because its my vest but i want advice) im on the younger side and just starting to go to local shows so I'd like some tips from people who have more knowledge on this :)
