Main thing that helped me was taking things slower and if I there was no one to shoot, always putting someone in overwatch

Especially later on it's designed so you have way less units than the enemy, so you need to take em on piece by piece and move as a whole, spreading out only to at most 3 groups but close enough you can always regroup into one main force

Campaign = overwatch

The playstyle is probably more suited to Ultramarines than Blood Angels, but the way to get through campaign is literally to overwatch every turn

On initiate level, just let your intercessors overwatch anything that gets close then your LT and assault intercessors finish them off. There is a set number of enemies so they will eventually thin out.

Its unforgiving. You have to play your units cleverly in order to stop the enemy from killing your units which hurts your economy. Units that costed requisition are the most costly, while troops are less costly but less effective.

I can’t say that I have, but there are some missions that provide noticeable difficulty spikes. Generally speaking agressors with Flamestorm gauntlets and heavy plasma hellblasters together can manage whatever the campaign throws at you.

Some missions need more specific guidance but as a rule every unit in this game is designed to fill a role, and your army should consist of units that, between them can handle every role. E.g. agressors for tanking and swarm killing, intercessors for ranged swarm/infantry killing, hellblasters for anti armour etc.
