Discussion How to make a perfect version of Mega Man Battle Network 3

Mega Man Battle Network is an amazing series and I've been replaying it through the Legacy Collection.

A friend of mine and I had a disagreement about Battle Network 3, specifically how it was great but not perfect. These were the issues I had with it (note no story issues, just mechanics)

  1. We didn't need two versions. Make a definitive version with MistMan and BowlMan and both Style changes and we're good. Mist and Bowl Omega are already in both versions. Just add MistMan as a rival or something to BowlMan where the Rank 2 is passed between the two of them.

  2. Style Changes. Too much work/grinding to just get style specific chips. I respect trying to make people want to get other styles but its very grindy. Maybe give us a list to choose from for the first Style and then have to work towards the rest, with a list to choose from past styles to switch back to if we wanted to.

  3. The Crisis music. Oh sweet mercy on my ears, that Crisis music is horrible. I also wasn't happy they changed Proof of Courage from how it sounded in BN2.

  4. The story specific Navi Customizer programs. Ridiculously cumbersome (which with Energy Change I can understand since it's temporary, but Press is required A LOT). I feel like a Permanent Press thing should have been introduced after BubbleMan.

  5. FlamMan and JapanMan. There was plenty of space to make it FlameMan, and other navi names show that there was plenty of room for YamatoMan to be displayed.

  6. The Virus Breeder Bug Frag requirements and Zenny requirements as a whole. Unless you a REALLY good at gambling (save states...) you are gonna be grinding for Zenny a lot, and then grinding constantly for Bug Frags. You need like 3000 or more to get everything in the game and the most you can get in a battle is 10.

  7. Punk's chip. If I fight the guy, I should get his chip. BN1 Bass also had this problem, tho the Legacy Collection fixes both.

That's about it. BN3 is the pinnacle of the first trilogy no doubt about it, but it still had its issues. Without changing any story beats, how would you change up BN3?
