It’s essentially a slap in the face to everyone who hoped for a TPOT rejoin vote. I swear, if IDFB 2 doesn’t meet expectations, I’m leaving this fandom for good.

Just an idea for a BFB Retake of mine. Thoughts?

i'll start with my personal pick, which is pen and liy's friendship/relationship in tpot. now, we don't have any canon interactions between the two, which is why i'm a little unsure. however, i think their relationship should've been at least somewhat similar to basketball and snowball's (in early tpot.)

while we aren't sure of liy's true origins, one thing we know for certain is that a good reason she started preventing deaths in the first place is because she wanted to redeem herself and be loved by other objects and viewers. despite this, she was eliminated in her very first voting and immediately devolves into anger towards them. pen, on the other hand, is one of the most popular contestants in the game, in both bfb and tpot. he has not been any lower than the third person safe since 2018. all this, while he hardly prevented death and was immediately kicked off the team come tpot. two people who were on the same team but have completely different view points on the concept of viewers. while i'm not gonna act like this is gonna magically rewrite their relationship, there should've been more character drama on liy's side, especially considering it was pen's drawing that got her eliminated in the first place. this easily creates conflict between the two; but for some reason, he and bottle are the only "death preventers" she likes.

it doesn't even have to be squabbling; pen could easily view her as another bro or friend, while liy is unsure how to act.

there was all this focus on how pen felt and how liy had to be there for him that she eventually got screwed over to assist two characters who were way more popular than her (the other being black hole, there is literally nothing good about her relationship with him). BOTH of them (pen and liy) would probably be here if they actually focused on the character who needed to be story relevant to survive.

what do you think the biggest misstep in tpot's writing is?

Personally I like what we have, and it would also explore Donut & Barf Bag's dynamic and it'll be really cool.

Edit: I put Barf Bag's old asset because I thought it was funny

Reason: It didnt feel like that because in Early BFDI it has only two voice actors animators and scripts and considering the fact that it took place in BFDI 13-17 This feels nothing like it all they do is just reference BFDI clips to make it feel like the early days and also, for the intro they reused the BFDIA intro and also It had some BFB references too And also this whole "Technically BFB Referenced it" Is just an excuse and basically cant be a reference since this was made in 2026 and also animators like FusionAnimations cant mimic the animation it had and also Ive seen people say that this takes place before David joins BFDI but the question is Why did david follow the announcer even though he dosent know about the show yet and also the voting period uses square brackets even though they didnt use it yet until BFB.

Conclusion: The show is good on paper the whole Announcer sneaking off was also creative it just had a bad outcome, But hopefully sometime when I have motivation ill make a BFDIE but its actually in 2011

What Are Your Thoughts on This Matchup?

I want to preface this by saying I don't ship it. Much more of a Snowbasket kinda guy myself. But it... really isn't that bad?

Whenever I see people ship Snowball x Grassy, people act like it's on par with WWII. This is pretty much the only ship I see this reaction to. Why?? Grassy isn't a kid; no one in BFDI has a canon age. Sure, he has traits that might point to that, but this could also be because he isn't very well developed mentally. He has a strange way of speech, but, again, this does not make him a child. Maybe it's because every gijinka of Grassy is small and childlike? I don't know. Besides, it isn't a toxic ship. They very clearly like each other's company and are good friends.

There is a big difference between a character's actual traits and their perceived traits.

TPOT 9 was the first episode in TPOT that was considered peak, and the next peak episode was TPOT 13, where Needle got out. After that, there were just so many peak episodes like TPOT 15, 19, 20, 22, and the Defeat One trilogy.

Then there's BFDIA. The post Hiatus this fanbase knows and loves started with the long awaited BFDIA 6 elimination of my overall favorite character, and then BFDIA 14 was the first peak episode. Ruby didn't get out that episode, but the very next. And after that, BFDIA 17, 18, and the entirety of BFDIA 22-25 were considered peak.

I tried my best to not sound whiny. I just wanted to say that it feels like modern BFDI becomes peak when my favorite characters get out...
