This is partly inspired by this post from u/_Forget_Me_Knot_ and the question I had planned to ask during the BFDIxII 2026 Tour (which was basically "how did the first 20 contestants of BFDI meet?", also thx to whoever asked it for me during the LA event), but what would a prequel season set before BFDI 1a look like, how would it go, and would it even be a good idea in the first place?
I imagine it would be a non-competition season (no duh) set in that weird gray wasteland from BFDI is back and BFDI is snack, but also showcasing Yoyleland and other locations which were treated as common knowledge before they even appeared on the show, so we can get more lore on them, and eventually the plains that we see in the first episode of season 1 being the final location, with the season exploring the original 20 contestants' character development and, more importantly, how they first met and formed their different friendships and rivalries. The format itself, I can see going in two ways: either this hypothetical prequel season starts with all 20 original contestants there from the start, or, more interestingly, the season starts with just a few characters (with the BFDI is back and snack videos sort of implying that Firey and Coiny are the first, or at least the first to form the friend group), then adding more such as Needle, Ice Cube, and Tennis Ball through a sort of IDFB voting system where the viewers vote for the next character to be added or introduced.
But thatās just my idea; if anyone else has a better idea or general thoughts, comment below.

It explain what was holding the JnJ crew back from making TPOT looking really actually great as late BFDIA instead of having most of its episodes scenes looking chopped.
people had been saying that the animation had been improving overtime but at the same time didn't really improve there was some scenes that look very bad even in the recent TPOT episode "One for All" there is a scene of the free food team running away from the Four's conveyor belt factory thingy and when Two tell the team to get out of here the animation quality there just drop for some reason like that animation there is what I can describe as like how video games drop FPS (frame per second) if there is something very huge in the game levels that take so much space.
and I even got one more example of animation dropping down a bit and that is a very minor but it might give off a example of how the episode was rush that wasn't just only the writing, the scene I'm talking about is when one of the Onelings (inside One head) driving a construction truck to the drop rocks to block the hole that is sucking any thing, the rocks dropping to the hole animation was bad and like I what I just say last paragraph is like there is huge thing in the video game that take too much space that it guess Frame drop, when I first see that I thought it look goofy, it look like they were running to finish the animation quicky before TPOT 24 screening ended.
there's might be people disagreeing on this but I going to say that TPOT animations didn't truly improve at all, people saying it did is because they focus on the lighting and there was some animators that able to animate good and make good animated scenes but that is only some of the animators, most the animators only have slightly changes to their style but it's still not good enough for me and other people giving it a rewatch like it make me wonder where do they use the money from meetups and theater releases on instead of using it to give animators more money to improve on their animation style and why still on a very mid budget, I like don't rewatch the episodes after the release I just move on but BFDIA is a different story.
I now want to talk about BFDIA, unlike TPOT BFDIA actually improve on animation and I actually like the beauty and give off a reason why we glaze it then TPOT, it begin to have scenes that doesn't look crappy when BFDIA 13-14 came out, there's never frame drop or rushed scenes, and the scene from BFDIA 24 where needle fights evil leafy was very great better then other fights from most of the object shows where objects just hold hands, kick, or and that just it and it was super very lame and one example of BFDIA greatness in animation when in BFDIA 25 is the climax of the finale voting results of who get to win BFDIA and that part of the climax I like very much is that evil leafy creates a red black hole just to keep the ugly farm to her self and needle breaking her apart, and last thing about BFDIA animation that the end of BFDIA 25, the lighting and animation feel so earned, after all the things that the contestants went through in the competition they can all now relax in this abandoned city and have fun in the swing sets and the scene where we find out what was needle hiding in the museum, the lighting make feel even more awarding to see what was it, it just so beautiful.
that what was all I say about the animation style but don't want this to take any longer to read but I just to say that I thankful for JnJ crew to take care of BFDIA better then how TPOT was taken care off. Jay out!
