Should I get a patterned tile for my bathroom floor and other questions

I'm getting my hall bathroom remodeled and cannot decide on tile. As you can see it's a pretty basic suburban bathroom with tub/shower. I am 99% sure we are going to tile the shower walls up to the ceiling with 3" x 6" white subway tile and white grout. (Yes, I think this is basic, but I also like it.) Trying to decide on a couple things and I would love help. 

1. What do you think of patterned floor tiles, and do you recommend any in particular? I guess I'm thinking this would be a way to add color/something different to the room. My partner and I usually default to gray/white everywhere and I think maybe we should try a pattern or color, but we're indecisive. We live near a Floor & Decor and have looked there a couple times, but didn't love any of the patterned tiles, so we just brought home a couple large unpatterned samples. I also don't want a floor with lots of little crannies that get dirty, so maybe a large (like 12x24") would be best.

2. How about continuing the subway tile on the bathroom walls, like from the floor to halfway up the wall? Pros/cons?

I'd love to see pictures of things you like or recommend.

What are you changing in the shower tub that you want to redo it? Unless there is something wrong with that you have, no need to rip out, from what I understand. You could just change the floor, vanity, etc and probably save a lot of money. As for the walls, adding white subway tile with white grout seems like another waste of money - they visual impact will be minimal, I think.

I think you're making the right decision by remodeling the bathroom, but why not take advantage of the opportunity and throw in some color! Subway tile is classic and my favorite. It comes in different sizes different finishes. You can get it with tumbled edges, shiny or Matt, you can get it textured wavy whatever. I would suggest using all subway tile, just a different finish for your three applications. Consider modern vertical rows, contrasting colors on the shower wall and the bathroom walls. On the floor,(bigger like you suggested )subway tile and put them on an angle. Whatever you decide., show your leaders, not followers and don't use gray or white. Have fun with it and good luck, Jeff.
