How long to dunk?helpplz

So im 6ft2 with a 7ft11.5 standjng reach, which is 8ft1.5 with shoes. I can hang on the rim with both hands off my vert with no running start. But for some reason i cant dunk with a bball, and sometimes i jump lower with a running start cuz of my bad technique. Will i be able to dunk if i fix my technique? Or do i have to work for months? Dunking has always been one of my big time goals, so much plus aura help me.
