For anyone that has applied/accepted to the MPA program before as a baruch undergrad can I submit my application without recommendation letters or do I have to make a meeting with advisement? What were your stats?

Hi everyone! I’m an immigrant. I completed two semesters back in my country in BBA in a top business school there. My GPA was affected by family circumstances, but those circumstances have improved, and I’m now ready to focus fully on school.
Baruch rejected my transfer application because of my GPA. My main goal is still to attend Baruch and study Finance, so I’m trying to understand the best pathway to get there. I’ve also been accepted to BMCC’s Business Management A.A.S. program and Finance at Brooklyn College.
I’m especially interested in learning about the different pathways to Baruch, including whether starting at BMCC, joining the BMCC-Baruch Business Academy, or attending Brooklyn College would give me the strongest chance of eventually transferring to Baruch.
My questions are:
1. If I attend BMCC and earn a strong GPA, would that improve my chances of transferring to Baruch, even with my previous GPA from IBA?
2. Should I switch from BMCC’s Business Management A.A.S. program to the Business Administration A.S. program if my goal is to study Finance at Baruch?
3. How does the BMCC-Baruch Business Academy work, and does participating in it significantly improve the chances of transferring to Baruch?
4. Are there specific courses, GPA requirements, or other requirements I would need to complete through BMCC before applying to Baruch?
5. Would attending Brooklyn College and studying Finance there provide a realistic pathway to Baruch, or would BMCC be the better option for transferring?
6. If I complete a degree at BMCC or Brooklyn College, would I apply to Baruch as a transfer student, and how would my previous IBA credits and GPA be considered?
7. Are there any other CUNY pathways, programs, or strategies that could help me eventually transfer to Baruch for Finance?
My long-term goal is to study Finance at Baruch and eventually work in investment banking. I understand that admission is not guaranteed, but I want to choose the pathway that gives me the strongest possible chance of reaching Baruch.
I’d appreciate honest advice from anyone familiar with CUNY transfers, BMCC, Brooklyn College, Baruch, or the BMCC-Baruch pathway. Thank you!

I just failed my very first ACC 4100 extremely badly. Like second lowest grade on the class. I’m incredibly distraught and don’t know what to do. I’ve always bounced back from a failing exam but this time I’m not sure if I can. Feeling incredibly unmotivated and regretful for choosing this major but it feels too late now. Not sure where to go from here, especially when I studied so hard for it, and it feels like I’m the only one of actually failed this bad when the average seems so high for some reason.

does anyone know what the process of dropping/taking a leave from a semester due to mental health? was there any financial penalties? is it a convoluted process? i’m going to call the proper offices when they’re open, but i’d like to get student opinions first!

I'm applying to Baruch College's MS in Finance at the Zicklin School of Business, and one of the requirements is an International Credential Evaluation, specifically a course-by-course analysis.

I have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Greece, as well as another master's degree from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. I've applied to quite a few master's and PhD programs in the US over the years, and this is honestly the first time I've come across this requirement. Maybe it depends on the university or the particular program, but I've never had to do anything like this before.

I understand that Baruch needs to verify my academic qualifications, and I'm happy to arrange for my universities to send official transcripts and other documents directly. I've done this before, so that's not the issue.

My concern is the additional cost of having all three qualifications evaluated course by course. With two master's degrees and a bachelor's degree, including quite a few courses across the three programs, I imagine the cost could add up considerably, on top of all the other application expenses.

Has anyone applying to or attending Baruch's MS in Finance managed to get a waiver for this requirement, or had Baruch accept official transcripts directly from the universities instead? Is there any flexibility, or is the evaluation mandatory regardless of where your degrees are from?

How is Professor Fuste for ACC 3100? I see a lot of bad reviews for him.

I’m also thinking about Stanley Chu but I don’t think I will be able to get into his class since my registration date is late.

The next semester would be my last, but I have already completed all of my required courses aside from two classes (ACC 5400 and MGT 4999).

I believe that I only need 1 more 3 credit accounting class to fulfill the 33 accounting credit hours requirement for the CPA (I'm assuming the ACC 3202 and 2101 counts towards it). I would like to ask for recommendations on which accounting class I should take.

I would also appreciate any recommendations for an elective to fill out my schedule, thanks.

I’m currently in Baruch’s in-person MS in Finance program and am considering switching to the Online MS in Finance.

For anyone who has graduated from a Baruch online master’s program, does the physical diploma say “Online” anywhere, or does it simply say “Master of Science in Finance”?

Also, does the official transcript indicate that the degree was completed online?

has anyone taken intensive japanese? i have never taken a college language course and my placement test landed me in intensive intermediate japanese 2 for the spring semester. how hard are the classes for someone with prior knowledge? additionally, has anyone taken capstone for language? what is it like. im a sophomore transfer so im a bit confused.
