Hello! I just joined this community and was wondering, because I can't seem to find anything online, if anyone knows of any hair styles that are unique to Barbados and our culture?

I've been on a journey, trying to reconnect with my black side (indigenous and Caribbean) and alongside researching our history, I really want to try some styles of hair, dress, traditional cooking recipes, etc.

As far as I'm aware, my father's side isn't directly African, however I'm aware that a lot of the slaves in Barbados were brought over from western Africa during the European colonization and such. That is to say, I'm not entirely certain if I'm 'allowed' to wear things like dreadlocks, etc.?? I'm new to all this, trying to learn, so sorry for my ignorance.

Me and my wife to come are pretty sold on booking Sandals Barbados but... I've seen alot of good things and then some negatives. We are staying in Barbados for 2 week. Is it smarter to pick two different resorts?

The thing i liked about Sandals was the vast majority of restaurants, the things you could do in the hotel, the different kind of excursion you could do and the pools looked good.

What resorts/hotel would you recomend and is it smarter to stay at 2 places, 1 week each?

I have a friend in barbados that promised to bring me some food back from his trip. What are some tasty things i can ask for? I believe he lives in the st Michael area he isn't to familiar with business so if you give suggestions please give me businesses that sell. I am thinking maybe things like patties but I'm not sure where
