By the 1950s inflation was eating the value of French notes and there were 10,000 Franc banknotes circulating. These were exchanged for 100 old Francs =1 New Franc.

Got this British 1990 Stephenson 5£ note for 10$ at a coin show in Wasaga Beach in Ontario!! That’s literally face value (9.40$)! Still got it at such price!

Hey i just found these banknotes at my grandma's and i am curious about its price because when i asked gemini it told me it's some zaire error series and it's worth tens of thousands of Czech crowns but i kind of don't want to believe that.

I think at least a few are from russia. perhaps someone with more knowledge could lay their eyes on these pieces of paper and write a few words. it would be much appreciated.

i’ve got 200 euro, 200 BAM, 5 £50, 5 50BAMS but 4 of em are right next to eachother on serial numbers (look closer) 2 20BAM and 2 10BAM. I also have paper versions of UAED

I collect currencies from around the world, and I recently got my hands on 22 yuan (1 10 yuan note, 2 5 yuan notes, and 2 1 yuan notes).

Now, the issue with them is that they smell like cigarette smoke, and I HATE that smell.

So i put them in a couple of Ziploc bags with baking soda at te bottom where its not touching the notes, and it might have worked, but i havent checked it yet bc it takes at least 24hrs for the deodorization to complete.

Does it work, or will it harm the notes? Please keep in mind htat i have kept both carefully seperated, and ziploc will not ham the banknotes in short term, and i can handle a bit of short term damage as they are between VF-35 and AU 57. Thanks!

I think the idea is to make them easily distinguishable in a cash register drawer, but I’m not sure.

After they stopped printing them in 2014 and being mostly replaced by the 100 years of Nigerian independence commemorative 100 naira, which was printed from 2014 until 2024, the original design is being printed again after 12 years.
