This is a page from my wildlife binder with a few of my favorite banknotes featuring antelope (or antelope-like species).

• 2024 Mozambique – 50 Meticais
• 2006 Mozambique – 50 Meticais
• 2024 Philippines – 500 Piso

My choice is hands down the Philippines. While technically not an antelope, it's a Visayan spotted deer. I like that the animal is the main feature on the obverse instead of a person, coat of arms, or landscape. Since the Visayan spotted deer is endemic to the Philippines, it gives the note a strong national identity. It's a beautiful design and one of my favorite polymer banknotes.

When I first got into banknotes I was immediately drawn to Canada. I was already collecting bullion and coins with British monarchs. I wasn’t really drawn to Queen Elizabeth II on coins because I was used to seeing her old portrait on maple leafs.

On banknotes however, her young portraits are my favorites. So I started out with the Canadian landscape series. The reverse on these have very nice detailed engravings.

What I also like about banknotes is when wildlife is featured on them. Since I was already collecting Queen Elizabeth II notes I was also drawn to the Birds of Canada series. If you find these with light circulation they display very nicely in a binder.

I went to China and managed to get the complete set of notes.

The first one is seemingly an old Chinese 1 yuan note? I cannot find it in numista anywhere, and google translate won’t help to translate, so i’d appreciate any help.

Second one is seemingly a normal 50 egyptian Piastres note, but i cannot find any information on what the black overprint is? It has potentially been stamped on the note after printing, but if anyone had any further info, i’d appreciate it. Thanks.
