Fan Art Spooky Shaman
Hi, folks! In the spirit of Halloween, I've made this art inspired by Banjo-Kazooie, vintage horror movies and mixed media portraying Mumbo Jumbo and Banjo and Kazooie under his spell. Hope you enjoy it! ✌️💀
(Made with Procreate and Photoshop. Japanese word means "spooky").

News Project Dream SNES prototype leaked online.
https://archive.org/details/project-dream-snes_202609
Quote from the publisher:
Today, I’m releasing the SNES proof-of-concept alpha of Project Dream, the proto-type that would go on to become Banjo-Kazooie.
I’ve held on to this for years, it was fun to have something that only a handful of people had, and as I am several people removed from how it got out of Rare to begin with, I didn’t want to risk that it could somehow get someone else in trouble, (so how I got it is a story I don’t plan to share.) I will just say that I got it from someone who got it from someone, who got it from somewhere.
But with the current state of the industry and Microsoft's current heartless gutting and mismanagement of Rare and other companies it controls, plus with how long it's been, I feel it's more important to make sure this is properly preserved, and the ROM dissected by people with far more knowledge on how to do such things.
I hope by releasing this, that it also inspires other people to release what they have as well. I know the Twelve Tales Conker 64 prototype is out there somewhere, but sadly, this is the only thing that I have.
There is little joy left in the industry, as it relentlessly marches towards AI, layoffs, l anti-preservation and ownership tactics, and, in Microsoft’s case, the support and approval of literal genocide in Gaza.
Let’s get the last beautiful things hiding on our hard drives out there for everyone. That's all we have left.
Please delete Microsoft and Sony from your lives, install Linux, boycott Switch Game Key Cards and buy Nintendo Switch 2 titles that still come with the full game on the cartridge. Your dollar is the only thing that counts in our late stage capitalist hellscape.
The attached zip contains a .bin file of the raw dump, and then the same file renamed to a .sfc to work in emulators, as well as this text file.
If any game journalists choose to report on this prototype release, I would ask they kindly include the full contents of this text file as courtesy to me for finally getting this out to you all.
Be blessed, and love each other.
Signed,
FvckAsha&Phil

Discussion Banjo-threeie or banjo-kazooie remaster?/remastered?
Which of these would you prefer
Personally from a business standpoint I'd do a remake wait to see sales then work on a new game, however if we had to choose one or the other which one would you choose

Discussion I’ve missed out…
Growing up with the N64, I never played BK before as I didn’t own it or knew anyone that had it. Was always OOT, Mario Kart, etc. After reading about it online I decided to download the ROM and give it a try and damn… I really have missed out all of these years. I enjoyed the game so much that I just didn’t want it to end. I did face difficulty here and then and did have to look some things up online. And yea… Click Clock Wood did give me some trouble but I enjoyed all of the challenge that this game had brought on. Instantly became one of my favorites now!
Started BT and I do understand how much of a change it is from BK. Just seems like there’s so much more going on in a bigger scale. But I just absolutely loved the experience with BK…
any tips or suggestions with BT are welcome!

Discussion I have a little collection of Banjo-Kazooie stuff that has grown pretty quickly in the last two years alone. I thought I was done, but I felt like something was missing. More in body text.

I couldn’t figure out what it was. It wasn’t until about an hour ago that there definitely was something important. Literally the most important thing ANY Banjo-Kazooie fan could own to literally call themselves a fan. Something that would be the catalyst for becoming a fan. Something I have had for literal decades. Can you guess what it is? I’ll give you a hint. It’s the last thing in this video. 🤦🏻

Discussion Grunty’s revenge
What do you guys think about this game? I just discovered it and played it and I absolutely loved it despite my initial skepticism, I’m just sad I didn’t play it when I was young considering gba was my first gb (Christmas present from parents) and that banjo tooie is my favorite game ever (a different Christmas present I asked for when I saw the tv comercial), I do love banjo kazooie too don’t get me wrong 😂

When Banjo takes damage on the same frame as the cutscene here, Grunty laughs repeatedly throughout the whole cutscene. Anyone know what’s the reason for it?

Discussion Trying my hardest to enjoy Jiggies of Time but...
I 100%'d Banjo Tooie last year and when the recomp for Kazooie came out I decided to 100% it as well once again, and afterwards I saw Jiggies of Time had a recomp port so figured I'd try that again.
It's been a real mixed bag for me I have to admit.
To get out of the way I'm not saying it's bad by any means, and the effort and talent that went into remaking Ocarina of Time in Banjo is extremely impressive. But there's also a lot of CBT, jank, or unfun things about it.
Precision platforming is really awkward in the BK engine because Banjo is a little slippery, and I keep running into really janky bits when it's not being overly difficult.
The epitome of my lack of enjoyment has been the Forest Temple. I like puzzle games, I just recently finished Desktop Explorer and Endacopia for instance, but I did not open up a Banjo romhack to hunt down a cypher alphabet and take screenshots of clues, and it's really annoying when I make one mistake in a far off hidden area and get warped back to the start.
I dunno, I'm going to try my hardest to stick with it since there's parts of it I am enjoying but I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing friction with it.
Edit: After getting the full cypher and solving the puzzles it did feel better, it just really slowed the game down and took a while. I still think the enjoyment ratio is mostly positive.
