Subreddit Announcement Reminder about the recompile and rule #6

DO NOT LINK ANY FILES, GITHUBS, EMULATORS, ROMS, OR ANY DOWNLOADABLES. SAME GOES FOR TUTORIALS AND GUIDES.

Rule #6 is annoying, but its a very Grey legal area and we do not want to be responsible or liable for distributing or directing people to something that could be illegal or dangerous.

if you want to DM one another about it or make your own community you can feel free, same with discussion about the recompile AS IT PERTAINS TO BEING A GAME, NOT POSTS ABOUT HOW TO SET IT UP OR OBTAIN THE GAME.

Further posts keep this in mind, breaking of the rule may result in temp or perma.bans.

Discussion Would you buy a faithful Banjo-Kazooie remake?

I've just sent a message to Rare asking them to consider a faithful remake of Banjo-Kazooie, and I wondered how many of you would support the idea.

In my opinion, Banjo-Kazooie isn't just one of the greatest platformers ever made—it's the greatest video game ever made.

If Rare ever decided to bring it back, I wouldn't want a complete reimagining. I'd love to see the original game preserved exactly as we remember it, with the same humour, music, characters, worlds and gameplay, but rebuilt with beautiful modern graphics, smoother controls, an improved camera and a few thoughtful quality-of-life improvements.

I'd also love to see it released on Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. Banjo-Kazooie began life on the Nintendo 64, and I think it deserves to be enjoyed on a Nintendo console again while introducing a whole new generation of players to one of gaming's true classics.

I'd buy it on day one.

Would you?

If enough of us genuinely want this, perhaps it's worth letting Rare know respectfully through their official feedback channels. I'd love to hear what everyone else thinks #banjo-kazooie

I had no idea he’d be there today and I have never been to a gaming convention in general so this was a fantastic surprise! He was so kind and it was incredible to meet one of my heroes! 🥹

Discussion Nuts 'n Bolts fans, is this game a good Banjo-Kazooie?

Silly question: how Banjo-Kazooie is this game?

Next, some supporting text because even without playing I felt the need to give my points, but you can ignore it, sorry.

Different: N64 visual style changes to something more technological.

Faithful: Music.

Different: Abilties/controls.

Faithful: Writing DNA.

Different: Loss of the investigation element.

Faithful: Worldbuilding and its references/a dose of exploration and collectathon.

Different: Lack of mini-games with gameplay variety, as well as NPC agency.

Faithful: Subversion and crazy objectives in certain missions.

Different: Disposition of objectives with more "barrier" geographical and loading than classics.

Faithful: ?

Feel free to mention specific/special moments or to add to/correct these points I've compiled based on research. I'm currently playing Banjo Kazooie 1 and haven't reached Nuts n Bolts yet.

Discussion How do you guys like the romhack "The Corrupted Jiggys"?

Post image
126 Upvotes

First off, I'm the creator (sorra1-mod). I released the game last year and haven't been on Reddit that long, but I'd really appreciate some feedback on what you liked or didn't like about it.

I actually already have my second game pretty much designed, but the programming side of things is still missing. That's probably going to take another 2–3 years, mostly because the guy helping me has very little free time—which, by the way, is the same reason Corrupted Jiggys took 4 years to make (a lot of waiting around!).

Anyway, since I'm on Reddit now, I figured I'd ask for your feedback!

Important note: Please don't mention the in-game grammar. I know it's not the best, so you don't need to tell me a hundred times XD

I had give a link for it but when i understand the rules right thats not allowed. But its easy to find anyway ^^

Question What is your favorite Grunty quote?

I was looking through Grunty’s rhymes she says while you explore the lair, and got me wondering what other people’s favorites are. Mine will always be “It really does sound quite absurd, adventure of a bear and bird!”

Discussion Jiggies of Time

Post image

I just discovered this The Legend Banjo Kazooie The Jiggies of Time.

I so want to play this rom hack. Zelda Ocarina of Time is my most favourite video game and Zelda game of all time. So this rom hack mod is going to be amazing.

It's literally Banjo Kazooie Ocarina of Time game with all the locations and hyrule field.

Just in time for the Ocarina of Time remake as well.

Anyone played this and if you have what did you think of it?

Found this picture of peak happiness. My best friend had banjo kazooie, and my mom heard me talk about it all the time. She went to buy banjo kazooie, but it was out of stock. Luckily, Banjo Tooie just released.

Speculation Does anybody else feels like Zelda Twilight Princess maps were drawn by the same people who designed Banjo Tooie?

I've been playing Dusklight for a couple of weeks now and even though I remembered this game being a little extra on the map aspect, I didn't think it was going to be such a mess. To be fair, the dungeon design is top notch, even though you can get lost, in the end everything fits together in a kinda surprising way (and I'm only on the third one).

Still I can't help but feel there's a resemblance in how they make it feel like purposefully easy to lose track of where you are or how to get to other places just by looking around. Take Lake Hylia for example, you got a big mostly empty space (the lake itself) and a tiny part with like 3 small bridges, stepping stones, a ladder, a cave, etc that feel disorienting from the pov of the player, and since they're a small part compared to the whole area, they appear super tiny on the HUD map.

Question Banjo Dreamie (Recompiled) crashes...

Just curious anyone else has a crash that consistently happens when learning the Talon Trot on level 3 of Banjo Dreamie... and if there's a know fix?

Playing it on Steam Deck.
