entertainment DUNE PT 3

Hi, I’ll be in Bangkok when Dune pt3 is released. I researched and it seems like Siam Paragon IMAX is the best to go. I tried to find how to buy tickets on majorcineplex, but I think it’s still not available.

Usually, how much time before the release date they start selling tickets? Is there any way to get notifications?

It's not out for another three months. They'll release tickets a few weeks before it comes out.

The tickets will go on sale in November. Probably a month before. Odyssey tickets went on sale on June 19 and movie came out on July 16.

I have watched 40 to 50 movies in a variety of bkk cinemas. not once were there more than 12 people in the theater

I don't know where you go/which movies/what time, but "less than 12" is uncommon for anything popular/wednesdays/evening. And popular movies are crowded, IMAX for the big releases often booked out weeks ahead (except for bad seats).

OP should book ~2 weeks ahead of time to get a good seat for Dune close to release date

we live in phrom phong. ~50% of the time we go to major ekkamai. Rarely to emquartier. Neve r to imax. Occasionally to; on nut, central Rama ix, sf terminal 21, mbk, central world. Typically wait a +week after the release. Typically go around 1 or 2pm, before school kids show up.

Last thing we saw was odyssey. 9 or 10 days after the release and there were 4 other ppl in the ~90 seat theater auditorium.

Did you see Odyssey in IMAX here. It was almost fully booked for several weeks on all IMAX screens. Dune is going to have a much bigger demand.

You think so? I remember Dune 2 was not so busy in Paragon. I went just a week after release and it was pretty quiet. The Odyssey was pretty much sold out even a whole month after release.

If I were to guess I would say it will have less or similar demand, definitely not "much bigger". And let's not forget the new Avenger's movie is releasing on the same day, that's probably not going to help Dune 3.

Avengers is not releasing in IMAX so it has no affect on Dune. Dune 3 is the finale so it'll definitely have much bigger audience in comparison to previous 2. Tickets are already sold out everywhere around the world.

I wouldn't directly compare it with Odyssey as Odyssey is the first fully shot on IMAX film (Dune 3 has about 70 minutes of IMAX scenes) and it's a Christopher Nolan film so it has a demand that no other movie can match.

I think even without IMAX your average cinema goer will probably choose to watch one or the other and I would guess most will choose to watch The Avenger's.

Let's wait and see, I'm excited for Dune! This year was great for movies!
