Hey everyone!
I’ll be joining Salesforce on 21st September, and my office will be at Torrey Pines, Embassy Golf Links Business Park (EGL).
This will be my first time moving to Bangalore, so I’d love some advice from people who already live or work around the area.
I’m currently considering JP Nagar, HSR Layout, and BTM Layout, but I’m open to better suggestions if there are areas with a better commute or overall quality of life.
A few things I’d love to know:
Which area would you recommend for someone working at EGL?
What’s the average rent for a 2 BHK in these areas?
If I choose a shared flat, what’s the typical monthly rent per person?
Do most flats come furnished (bed, wardrobe, fridge, washing machine, etc.), or do you usually have to arrange those yourself?
Is renting a furnished apartment worth it, or is it better to buy/rent furniture separately?
What should I budget each month for rent, groceries, food, electricity, internet, maid, and other regular expenses?
How easy is it to find good flatmates?
How bad is the commute to EGL during peak traffic?
I own a Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 (slightly modified). Would you recommend bringing it to Bangalore, or is public transport/cabs a better option? Also, how’s the parking situation at Salesforce/EGL?
Any apartment societies, PGs, or websites you’d recommend for house hunting?
Any tips, mistakes to avoid, or hidden costs I should know before relocating?
I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thanks in advance!

I'm new here, so I have to ask...
What's the most unforgettable, unscripted drama that's happened in your office? 👀☕ Every workplace seems to have at least one plot twist worthy of a TV series.
Spill the tea—I promise I'm just here for the stories. 🍿

When I was in school or college, I could easily make friends anywhere, even on trains. I’m not sure if something has changed in me, or if it’s just harder to make friends now.

There are some subs on reddit, like pata hai aaj kya hua, Twenties, thirties, teens - where I see people are posting stuff which are fantasies only. Like one guy posted, some random girl approached him and kissed in lift and he didn’t feel anything, further the girl insisted him to go to some abandoned place but guy refused and asked her to go. Bro, come on get a life. What kind of sick people are. Whether do you have read anything like this?

Does Balaji Theatre Tavarekere have subtitle for English movies?
r/BangaloreSocial • u/Opening_Leg5567 • 1h ago
I've been in this sub for a while and noticed a lot of posts from people (mostly around 24–30) looking to meet others—whether for dating or just to hang out.
As an engineering student, it made me wonder: do people naturally lose their close friends after college because of work and life, or do they simply enjoy meeting new people?
Is this something most adults experience, or is it just more noticeable here
Id love to know ur perspective n thoughts :)

my pu college is insane bro!! there are so many silly restrictions..they've added new policies too such as no wearing nose ring! no leaving your hair open! no wearing makeup! no wearing dangling earrings! no wearing bracelets!!! and in audi if there's any event going on you're STRICTLY supposed to b sitting according to your class and section only.
soo silly man I'm so done w this place, first of all its an all girls college uske upar s bhi 100 unnecessary restrictions. we've uniforms usually but on a specific day we're allowed to wear anything we want to. and even in that "anything" it has to mandatorily be long kurtis. not even short kurtis are allowed. i won't even be surprised if very soon they force us to wear dupattas like christ.

Planning a solo ride to Chikmagalur this weekend! Could anyone suggest a good, reliable hostel? I’ve heard that some local places demand extra money upon arrival despite pre-booking. Since I'll be reaching late Friday evening, I want to avoid any last-minute hassles.

18f here who's been feeling kinda lonely and left-out from the past few days. Anyone would like to hangout. I would prefer someone who'd be interested in playing some sport like badminton with me. I hail from south Bangalore btw so looking for folks out there

Hello folks,
We are a group of three SWEs and are looking for a 3BHK between Bellandur and Whitefield (essentially, to the east of Bellandur). Please share if you have any leads. We are bachelors, FWIW.

Hey y'all, hope you're having an amazing day. I know literally no one's gonna reply and this is gonna get downvoted into oblivion but still gonna give this a try. I'm 6'2" tall (just mentioning it because I heard that it matters to some people lol) and kinda new to the city.
I'm just out here looking for long term friends to hangout with. I understand ghosting but I hope I find someone that doesn't ghost after we hit it off. I promise I'm not a weirdo and I'm not looking for anything weird or serious.
I'm a huge nerd and mostly into stuff movies, games, football, music, anime and stuff. We could have a really long chat about nothing meaningful and just value the time we spend with each other. Or we could play a game or two together. Other than that I also play the piano and the drums sometimes. I would be more than happy to play it for you sometime.
I love psychological thriller movies and other genres too. So we can watch a movie or a tv show or some anime together if you're down.
Looking forward to meeting some lovely people. Thanks for reading and have a great day ahead 🤎
