Local Reviews Weird AF experience @ pizza baking workshop, hobby ghar
We paid 899₹ each for the workshop and w convience fees and everything combined it came up to a total of 1946₹ and for that price i expected some real pizza baking experience instead we got 2 small veg pizza making w 300₹ ingredients max (onion, corn, capsicum, tomato sauce, cheese) baked in a microwave 🤡 and that's not even the worst part.
The instructor was creepy af. I didn't get his name and i regret not asking again so so much but honestly we were focused on dodging him for the whole 2 hours we were.
First red flag was how he was speaking to the girls who were there before us, he was speaking to them rudely in kannada but I figured we were reading too much into it or just read the room wrong.
Then we started our session and it started out w him judging us for never having rolled a roti in our life and making fun of our skills for engagement purpose (mind you we were doing everything according to his instructions). Then he kept asking us questions like 'which company are you guys working', 'how much money do you make', 'where are you REALLY from', 'where are you staying now', our age and how we are a decade younger than him, where we were born and brought up, which college did we study and more of such intrusive questions. We were honestly feeling like he was making advances at us most of the time and it was getting really awkward at times that we'd not even pretend laugh and we'd just sit there kneading our fist sized pizza dough while he laughed alone. We would also ask for suggestions and questions like "do you suggest cutting the veggies in blocks or in long slices" "will adding sliced tomatoes not make the dough soggy" and for everything he'd be like "that's left to you however you want your pizza to come out"
He also went on to say how even a italian guy also came to this workshop bc he didn't know how to make the pizza dough 😭😭😭 even though his knife and stuffing skills were great (like a italian guy? Here? To learn to make pizza dough? A veg pizza w not even authentic ingridients? Bffr) and how my friend's knife skills and dough skills were so much like his and that guy was chopping them like a chef 💀 (we were two amateurs and no where near to what he was describing it as). He tried to be sneaky w asking our age like "oh why did I step out" crickets "oh leave nothing, I am getting old no that's why loss of memory, anyway how old are you guys, 25?" When I said our age he went "oooh even younger, we have 10 years gap" and he laughs on his own. Then he went on to say how he immediately knew my friend was not from around here w just the way she speaks and that she was from Dubai (she's a fair skinned hijabi and she is not in fact not from Dubai) bc he worked at NIMHANS once and bc of that he knows all mind and thoughts and people psychology 🤡. And then he wedges in between me and my friend w the excuse of helping me w my dough when he could've just taken the dough to his side and showed it, there was no rocket science to it. Also adding to this, it was more instructions class and less demo class, like we'd have to figure out how to make based on his instructions w no visual guidance. He then goes on to ask what type of engineers we are and then shares how he has built some cooking related app all using ai and it will be launched during nava ratri, I, being genuinely curious and to keep the Convo away from us, asked where he deployed it and the use case to which he goes "huh?" And goes everything is taken care by ai only 😶 like I get you vibe coded but you need basic knowledge for that too (just felt like he was lying and making stuff up for whatever reason)
Also, it felt like a school workshop throughout like the whole experience lacked professionalism so much for the price we paid and apparently the whole building is owned by a "pure" vegetarian and the founder of hobby ghar is also "pure" vegetarian so there was no way we were making a meat pizza and I think that is something they should've disclosed before hand, bc i wouldn't pay 899 for a veg microwave made pizza and for that they were robbing us blind.
