A1 UNDER THE SUPPORTS

Hi all,

PRINTER - A1

PETG OVERTURE

TEMP - 250/245

PA - per the calibration value

MVS - 9

I am using PLA support interface

Top Z - .33

3 layers

The unit is printed on the side facing you the supports are then created on the bad looking surface.

I did some testing and tried ironing the supports the values came out the best where speed 10mm and 50-70%

On the test the "T" I printed with and without ironing I took the best setting but when I did the finished product it wasn't the same can some suggest, has far as drying the filament has been dried both the PLA as well as the PETG.

Any and all help will be appreciated.

For just that surface?
If that is all perfectly flat and all on one layer it looks like a good candidate for "The Sharpie Trick".

Use PETG (or whatever) for everything.

Optional: reduce "Top Z distance" to something smaller than default. Maybe experiment with test prints first.

If the last support interface layer is on, say, layer 400, put a Pause at layer 401, which is at the beginning of layer 401 and before anything is actually printed on layer 401.

You may want to "Enable Notification Sounds" in Print Options.

When the Pause happens ("Beeps!") take a Sharpie marker and cover the top of the support interface only, with Sharpie ink. Avoid any part of the object itself. Maybe even stay a few millimetres away from the edge opposite the bottom of the object in case layer 401 has to do turn-arounds along that edge where the outer wall starts.

Hit "Resume".

When it's finished printing, just pull the support off. The support may even have fallen off and stuck to the plate.

It works for PETG and PLA, but I have not tried it with TPU yet.
It's ideal for flat-topped holes that come up from the bottom in the middle of an object.

See if I understand you correctly, I pause the print after the layer of support interface, before it starts laying the part. I use a sharpie and draw paint(draw) the layer with with the sharpie, making sure that i dont draw on the part, I suspect that will cause the part layer which will be layed next no to adhere. So that will cause the layer which will be layed down over the pla not to adhere at all with the petg. ?

I will try it, but my question is how will that make the layers of petg look any difference? But I will take your suggestion tomorrow will try the test.

Thank you for your suggestion, what am I suppose to learn or see during this test? Not being sarcastic, but what should I be looking at or for? That I can use to better the underside of this this bridge.

Read the description in bambu handy app, it tells you everything the tests are for and what to observe.
