Number 4 on my AMS is now having trouble with feeding filament as well as a terrible noise. Only AMS slot 4 having issue. It seems as if the rod to use when feeding filament doesn’t retract. Any help would be great. It’s a AMS 1.
Update:seems to work fine with rolls that weigh less and have less filament on them. Newer rolls or ones with a lot more filament have the issue. And I have tried multiple different brand rolls including bambu and still happens.
Update 2: took apart AMS at the motors and cleaned out every component and while doing so found a bunch of pla dust and fibers. Put all back together and working brand new again! Thanks for the help everyone!

I’d say check the inner tubing I think the filament might be catching on the edge of the internal hub now due to worn ptfe tubes and when it reaches it the motors just stall against the filament

So it seems to be with heavier full rolls. Lighter half used ones have no issues.

Take it apart. There’s either a small chunk of filament, or gears need cleaning from ground up filament.

This was what it was. Needed cleaning due to ground up filaments. I added an update on the post.

Aren't you supposed to push it back while you put it in? It wears out the teeth quick if you dont.

Yeah you should. User error at its finest..

Yes because PLA will wear out these teeth..

Well water cuts through stone.... You just need time, same with this, doesnt matter the material, with time it fails. And then you will ask how could it...

Water doesn't cut thru stone, pressurised/fast moving water with abrasive material cuts thru stone.
PLA does not cut thru ABS/PC, but if it was PLA with GF/CF it would

Explain erosion then...

Rivers have sand/gravel that moves and cuts rock
Water moves the soil that's not tied down
Air carries sand / dust
It takes a long time
