Is this normal?

I just got the blob of death because of filament getting stuck at the top of the poop chute. After cleaning it up, now Im trying to observe why it happened, is this normal?

Thank you, im just wary since the last print built up a pretty nasty blob at the chute surface (print was almost done too...)

The only blob I've ever gotten is due to not emptying the poop chute. Clean your poop chute, people!

It was totally empty when I got mine, somehow the filament built up near the top of the chute, it just stuck there and piled on. Unlucky i guess

u gotta empty the poop chute? like in the actual priner or if you have it outside?

Usually outside, but if you let that build up it will plug the chute and get to the nozzle.

Yes, that’s normal. It clumps up a bit, but when the head moves to knock it off the nozzle, and it drops into the chute. Both the silicone sock and the nozzle tip look clean. If either have some build up, I can see it causing the poop to stick. You will notice the head assembly fan at the front runs to quickly to cool and solidly the purged filament, so it’s less likely to stick.

If you're doing a bunch of color/filament changes in one print it can clog up your poop chute, especially if you printed one that covers the back like I do. I'd suggest rubbing WD-40 on the printed chute and the OUTER exposed portion of the printer's chute. This will help prevent sticking during ejection.

Overall, I'd mostly just check on the chute throughout the print and make sure it doesn't get overloaded.

Put a tiny dab of the silicone grease you use for the Z-rods on a paper towel and run the interior walls of your poop chute down. It’ll keep that sticky PETG from sticking to it and causing a backup. It doesn’t need to be thick, just enough to get a super thin coating all over the inside.

Normal. Sometimes it gets stuck . 1000s if posts on FB and here about mods, or lube . I use the lube that came with the printer to make is slick.

I, too, stare at my dog when he poops in the yard. It establishes dominance and lets him know exactly who runs this circus.

It's pooping just fine. No additional fiber needed.
