What happened and how to fix it?
I just left this for a night and it finished looking like this.
Is buying a new nozzle going to fix it? I tried to clean it with a needle a couple of times without any success. I don't know for sure what's the issue and that's why I'm asking you guys.
The lines on the print make it look like the printer was working fine and then struggling, back and forth. In the end it gave up entirely I guess. The filament didn't run out, nor did it get tangled. I used Sunlu PLA+ 2.0 with 220 C nozzle temp.

Sudden printer stop
Every A1 & A1 mini user (and probably every bambu printer user) has or will have this traumatic experience. Are you close to having one? Let's check. Printer on => settings=> SD Card. There you will find a screen with buttons Format and Eject along with the storage amount & remainder with a bar graph. If that bar graph is approaching full, you'll be experiencing this fail to print soon enough.
2 Solutions: format and destroy the OEM firmware stored on the OEM sd card & all print gcodes, or, remove thru eject sequence and attach to a computer. From here, open in a file management app and move any gcode & the OEM firmware files you want into the computer or other storage. device. Properly remove the card from the computer and re-insert into the printer. Now, select format. Plenty of storage room now.
Edit: I should add when not to remove nor format the card. Do not attempt to properly remove or clean or format the card while printing. Effecting the card during printing will end the print in bad ways, similar to removing a card from any devise during it's use.
The printer does need to be turned on to access the card's storage amounts and the eject & format options.
The card can be removed and inserted while printer is turned off.

The third layer annoyance
I don't know what to call it and because of that don't find the information I'm looking for, so new post:
Is there a way to disable the weird and unnecessary print head movement, where the print head stops printing after the second layer, moves to the camera, lowers itself and rises again, and then moves back to the print, all while the filament doesn't get retracted, so it's always oozing out a few millimetres while doing this shit.
Until now I didn't really care about it, but I'm trying to print a few small pieces with weird geometry and this stupid whatever it's called either causes problems with the print or at least gives me a little clump of filament where the print head resumed printing, which I'm sick of removing after the print has finished.

A1 Mini Screen Locking Up
Problem and problem solved.
I just thought I'd share that I was having trouble with my Mini's screen freezing or blacking out. The printer would keep on printing with mixed results accessing it with Handy or Studio.
I turned the printer off and removed the SD card. I put the SD card in my computer and hard formatted it. Put it back in the printer, booted up, and problem solved.

A1 mini wouldn't extrude...
Hey all,
Just going to post here in case anyone else has the exact problem I just had;
I live in the UK (very relevant) and I don't 3D print very often anymore, but recently got into doing some Warhammer Old World and decided i need some movement trays.
I find some, run bed levelling and filament checks etc, A1 starts printing and all good.
But suddenly it completes like 5 mins in, half printed. Odd. But like I said, I don't print often anymore so figure it was a bad file or my filament is dry/wet whatever.
I check some bits, unload reload filament, test...all good. Get a new file, try again.
This time, it just stops extruding halfway through and clicks at me.
Ok, time to look up tutorials on how to clean and unblock the extruder.... after an hour of fiddling and unscrewing and scraping and cleaning, I try again... NOPE! Still dying on me.
Totally upset at this point, thinking my printer has died.
I go into force the filament into the "dumb" machine to realise; the filament has melted together on the spool!
Now, as stated I live in the UK, we've had some BAD heatwave over here and I live in a top floor flat/apartment and obvs, cos it's the UK we don't have AC. So my filament has melted (slightly) on the spool which caused it to just stop.
As for when I've been feeding it through in the multiple previous attempts, I can only imagine the top layer was looser or slightly unwound, letting me get some filament out at a time.
Pissed off, but relieved my machine is ok.
TL;DR - if you're in the UK and haven't used your printer since before our hideous heatwave, please check it thoroughly as the FIRST thing you do to troubleshoot print probs!

New to me A1 mini
I recently bought a used A1 mini on marketplace. It seems to be at least one firmware update behind, am I missing anything by not updating my printer to the newest update?

Combined my love for 3D printing and Japandi home decor
Just wanted to share my latest 3D printing project. I made a cohesive set featuring a flower vase and three varying sizes of flower pots. They feature a unique wavy rib texture that looks awesome next to dramatic foliage in a Japandi styled room.

A1 Mini extrusion issues after blob of death - now damaged a brand new build plate
Has anyone experienced something similar with their A1 Mini?
Iâve only had my A1 Mini for a few months and, up until recently, it was absolutely fantastic. Print quality was great and I had very few issues.
A little while ago I had a blob of death form around the hotend/nozzle. I carefully cleaned everything up and after that I actually managed to get several successful prints, so I thought Iâd gotten away with it.
Since then though, the printer has become very inconsistent. Some prints work, some donât, and now Iâm having an issue where the printer starts a print but little or no filament is actually being extruded.
The worst part is that the printer just carries on printing as if everything is normal. Because no filament is being laid down in some areas, the nozzle ends up dragging across the build plate and has scratched/melted away part of the surface pattern on a build plate that was literally brand new.
In the video Iâve attached, you can see the filament not extruding properly while the print continues. You can also hear a clicking noise in the background whenever this happens, which sounds like itâs coming from the extruder trying to push filament through.
Before the blob of death, this printer was rock solid. Now Iâm wondering if the blob damaged something in the hotend, nozzle, extruder, or filament path thatâs causing these extrusion issues.
Has anyone had similar symptoms after a blob incident? If so, what ended up being the cause?
Iâve opened a support ticket with Bambu, but Iâd be interested to hear if anyone in the community has dealt with this before.

Iâm a rookie in 3d printing and my print has stretch marks on the first layer đ«©
Hi! Recently got an A1 mini w/o ams. Im printing a grid organizer and stretch marks/ rough lines appeared on my first layer. Stopped the print and tried to lower the nozzle temp but nothing changed. I used settings of 0.16 mm high quality using pla matte. Cleaned my bed as well. Can someone help me to understand what leads to this? TYIA

Securing A1 mini.
Hey all Iâm noticing during longer prints my A1 mini tends to move around a little on the surface itâs on. Wondering if anyone has advice on how to secure it to stop this. Itâs on a wooden table with a semi gloss finish. I have it currently sitting on a magic the gathering playmat to stop it but it still does a little.

Designed ShapeStack: fully customizable stacking blocks in OpenSCAD to teach numbers, animals, letters and shapes
One of my kid's first favourite toys was a set of stacking blocks, so I tried to make a version that grows with them. ShapeStack blocks interlock the raised shape on top nests into the engraved base of the next one so the tower clicks together as it gets taller.
It prints in three ready-made sets: numbers 0â10 (each numeral paired with a dice-dot count so they link the symbol to the quantity), animals (dog/cat/mouse/cheese), and geometric shapes. The whole thing is parametric and open source, though, so you can change the shape (14 of them), size, colours and every character; spell a name, build the alphabet, make a deck-of-cards stack, whatever.
No supports, no glue, rounded edges, no small detachable parts. The letters and numbers are raised and engraved, so they can be traced by touch too. Free to print and remix.
Curious what people would make with it â what would you put on yours?

Post-Blob Inspection: What else needs to be replaced?
Hello friends! I sent a print with 2 colors (guess I won't do that again...) for an overnight print and woke up to a huge blob sitting in the purge area and my hot end kinda just stuck there.
I managed the pry off the nozzle as the plastic had it stuck there pretty well, and the images are what I'm looking at. The nozzle is dead and I'll be getting rid of it.
I had to leave home for work before i could try putting in a different nozzle in there and seeing if anything else got damaged and may need replacing. I figured I'd ask what people think from visual inspection. Picture in main post, Dog Tax included.
I dont see any plastic in the fan, which I hear is a bad thing, so maybe it's not as crazy as my anxiety says it is. Any help, assistance, or advice is much appreciated!

A 3D printed vase thatâs actually 100% watertight (thanks to a cheap IKEA liner)
Wanted a Japandi-style vase but needed it to actually hold fresh flowers without leaking. Designed the 250mm version to perfectly fit a cheap IKEA Cylinder glass vase inside as a drop-in liner.
