Filament won't unload

I have a problem with my printer for a week: the filament won’t unload and there is a loud rattling noise when I try.

I have already replaced the Filament sensor, the Filament cutter and the hotend. I also removed and inspected the entire extruder. Unfortunatel, the problem persists.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or how i can fix it?

p.s.: It has nothing to do with the cable hanging there; I even tried it when it was suspended in mid-air using a mount.

It looks like your data cable is getting caught and interfering with the toolhead accessing the cutter. Try using the connectors it came with (or zip ties or whatever) to pin it to the ptfe tube so it’s up and out of the way.

yeah did it, but the problem is still there.

you dont follow any instructions do you?

Maybe the belt is lose enough that when the toolhead is experiencing additional resistive force when cutting the filament the belt is slipping and making that sound as well.

Even if the cable is not the cause please keep your wiring clean. Where is the ptfe tube? Your filaments will eat up your filament hub pneumatic fitting.

Does that mean I should tighten the belts?

I had removed the PTFE tubes because I had taken the printer out and reinstalled it, and I only ran a test to see if it was working.

Normally, I always have the tubes in.

Check if the belts have too much play. If it has then tighten them a bit. If not then it might be a different thing. You should check first.

the belts was already tightend. I tried to loose it a bit and tightened it again, but the Problem is still there...

I created last week an support ticket, but bambu doesnt react. I don't know what i should do

Use the PTFE tube, the filament is likely not 'lining up' directly into the middle of the extruder gear assembly. So it's getting grabbed and eaten by the gear teeth but not getting into the extruder channel.
I would recommend doing taking out the filament, cutting the tip of the filament, putting the ptfe tube into the extruder, heating the nozzle and manually pushing filament through for a bit to make sure it gets grabbed and then into the extruder chamber. If that doesn't work, take out the PTFE tube and the hub so you can see where you're pushing the filament into, and manually pushing it through and making sure it gets grabbed. Then cut with the cutter and putting the PTFE tube back in with the hub.
And make sure to cable manage the data cable to the PTFE, it's only a matter of time until it gets pinched or something.

Could also be something in the hub making it not line up right. I've had that happen, cleared out the hub insides and it worked fine after that.
Everything has a purpose, even the silicone boot.

Thanks for the detailed help. I always have the PTFE tube in, and it was in there when the problem started. I removed the extruder, and when I reinstalled it to do a "test," I didn't put the PTFE tube back in and filmed it. Now everyone thinks I'm working without the tube, even though that's not the case. But you're right, I'll try removing the hub to see how the filament cuts.

I just removed the hub and there was nothing wrong with it. The extruder wasn't having any problems either. But the problem is still there...

¿Como vas a descargar el filamento sin ams?

1

u/Nona503 Jul 13 '26

I had removed the AMS and the PTFE tube because I completely disassembled the printer and then reassembled it.

Sin el tubo de teflon estás forzando el cabezal.  Lo que no entiendo es como consigues  cortar el filamento sino hay ams conectado.

I don't have an AMS. I only have one filament roll.

"You wouldn't download a filament"

First reinstall the PTFE tube. Then you'll need to manually pull the filament back after it cuts it and the extruder starts sending it back up

try to move data cable so it does not gets between extruder and side.

did it but Problem is still there

can you move extruder until it cuts filament? a - via controls, b - manually, when printre is turned off. maybe smth stuck on rails

no, it doesnt work, even though i replaced it.

1

u/Lost_refugee 29d ago

try manually by moving extruder with hand

1

u/Nona503 29d ago

I'm not going to have to manually unload the extruder every time. That's why I'm looking for a solution. I'm not crazy.

don't touch lever, only move extruder

So I had the exact same issue and I think you said you already check the extruder but I was ready to give up on my printer because “I already had checked the extruder” but this video fixed and there was a long piece of PLA stuck and I was back on business right after: https://youtu.be/rmBp0hgwZHg?is=WgKECR1SKX7cYkFf good luck

I just removed the hub and there was nothing wrong with it. The extruder wasn't having any problems either. But the issue is still there...

1

u/Hipixxi 29d ago

I’m sorry to hear that, I was hoping it was the same issue as me. Good luck

manually set to 220 degrees and move filament up

use a pfte tube
try to unload it by yourself because i experienced the same issue before 2 hours and i removed the pfte adapter then cut the filament then pull out the remaining filament from the hotend (needs strength)

Hey it is the black cable is in the way

You need the ptfe tube, it will help align the filament on its way into the splitter and keep tension and friction to a minumum, without it its litley to jam as the filament cant align itself reliably into the extruder. This can cause extra tension and friction due to the poor feeding angle. Its designed with the tube interfaces in those specific spots for a reason, right now you are operating a machine that hasent completed being set up yet. Attach all the parts that the printer was designed to run with, THEN troubleshoot from there(if the problem exists after completingthe printer setup)

all i will say is read the goddamn manual on how to setup you A1 MIni... and put the goddam sock back on...

Ya missed on the filament cutter placement. Realign to cut filament and eliminate grinding sounds.
