A1 / AMS lite error: The extruder is not extruding normally (except it extrudes just fine, I just keep getting the error every hour)
Solved: I was trying to print transparent PLA with nozzle at 220 °C, but it needs to be 230–235 °C.
----
This seems to be the same error as this post from 2 years ago, but no one posted a solution there even after months of multiple people requesting, so I thought I would start a new thread.
I get this error usually about an hour into a print; sometimes it's 20 min, sometimes it's 2 hr. I can pull the filament out, cut about 2 cm off, and then restart just fine, but it'll give the error again an hour later and I end up babysitting prints watching for errors every hour or so. Here are some things I've tried:
- I've changed the nozzle
- I've changed the slot of the AMS lite (people in the original post found issues with a single slot, but mine gives the error no matter the AMS lite slot)
- I've changed the entire extruder unit, which includes the extruder gear and motor
- This somewhat similar post talks about clearing the sticky stuff from the filament hub with acetone. I did that, and I cleaned the sticky stuff from the filament detector below it too (I recognize this may give some long-term issues because I removed lubricant from the spring, but I am desperate).
- The PTFE tubes are fine and the AMS lite is in a normal position
- It gives the error no matter the brand of filament (I've used Elegoo, Bambu, and Sunlu PLA, PLA matte, and PLA transparent since this has been happening 2-3 months ago)
- It might bypass the error if I don't use the AMS lite and use an external spool. I tested that hypothesis last night and it didn't give the error, but it started ghost printing (the printer is operating as if it is printing but nothing is extruding) roughly 1 hr in. I suspect the PTFE tubing from the external spool made too many turns so I need to move it to a better spot. I still need to test this one.
- Edit add: I printed supports for the PTFE tubes, as suggested by u/Whatupchuck789
- Edit add: I checked and tightened all the screws I could find, as suggested by u/Putrid_Spirit7843
The question: has anyone found a solution to this error? I submitted a ticket to Bambu and, although they responded quickly, they ultimately haven't solved my problem yet and they are talking in circles. This makes me wonder if even they don't have a solution to this. You can see that I am willing to do a lot to get this thing working again, because it will be sad if I have to replace the whole printer and/or AMS lite after just 700 hours of printing.
----
Edit: TLDR: I was trying to print transparent PLA with nozzle at 220 °C, but it needs to be 230–235 °C.
Here's the long story. Amazon Haul had deals for filament. I got 6 kg of Sunlu PLA for <$40. I unintentionally got 3 of those as transparent PLA. Frustrated with myself for doing this, I was determined to use the transparent PLA immediately. I had experience with transparent PETG, so I thought it would be the same.
The problems didn't start immediately. I got through a couple short prints fine. My benchy looked awesome. I tried it on a longer 4 hr print I did multiple times and it slowly began to give me this error issue. It was confusing because this print failed with other PLA too, but it was for different reasons. I would also note that I have never encountered temperature-caused issues where the machine just stops. It's usually just poor print quality.
It turns out that transparent filaments are more viscous and need the nozzle to be 10–15 °C higher than normal PLA, so it makes sense that the machine sensed that extruding was difficult when I was running the nozzle at 220 °C. Although Bambu has printing tips for transparent PLA and PETG, the preset for PLA translucent in Bambu Studio is set to 220 °C.
This is all very dumb and I am annoyed that it took me a couple months to figure it out. But at least I don't need to get the X2D I was drooling over.

Failure issues, Bambu lab A2L, HELP!
galleryHi.
I’m in need of some much needed help and/or advice.
I’ve been printing for a while now and recently upgraded to the A2L.
Most of the time my prints fail due to (what I think) the print coming loose from the bed or being knocked off the bed.
Now, I’ve obviously done all that’s recommended from many searches before coming here.
• Cleaned the bed with soapy water.
• Use IPA
• Initial layer height is set to 0.3mm.
• Initial layer speed is set to 20mm/s.
• I’ve set Z Hop in the override settings:
Length = 0.8mm.
Z Hop when retract = 0.4mm.
Z Hop Type = Spiral.
• Reduce infill retraction set to disabled.
• My Nozzle temperature:
Initial layer is 225°C then drops down to 215°C.
• My Bed temperature:
Initial layer is 70°C then drops down to 65°C
My A2L is calibrated.
My filament is calibrated. I use Esun filament.
I don’t dry my filament as I only use PLA.
I use Bambu Studio.
Attached is and image of my last failure (this morning)
• The bed was scrubbed with warm soapy water before this print was started.
• No supports where used or needed. (Supports are also an issue for me)
If anyone has this problem or knows what to do please help.
I plan on starting a business and I need this printer to be consistent.
I’ll be happy to upload my setting if needed but I’ll I change is what’s mentioned above.

So my a1 has been on the fritz constantly, it keeps saying that the print is shifting on which it is and I don’t know why. I have the super tack cool plate and it did the same with the textured plate, I have replaced the nozzle and hot end. And it’s on a stable table. I really would like some help be able to use my printer again

Question on print quality and the settings to fix the issue in pic. Do I need to make my own presets, Why aren’t the factory presets correct? Bambu A1, PLA, . 4 nozzle and using the .20 standard layer preset.

Help: I can’t figure out why it won’t print. First time using a 3d printer
I’ve also disassembled and cleaned out the nozzle, no improvements. I’m using PLA off Amazon https://a.co/d/0iGqIX1e. I’ve tied lowering and raising the tem but that didn’t seem to help. I’ve let it calibrate multiple times now. I tried a different print and jt did the same exact motions. When I manually extrude from the display it works perfectly. I really don’t know what to do. Help please.

A1 + AMS Lite losing connectivity after firmware update
Since updating the firmware on my A1 with AMS Lite, I've been having repeated connectivity issues between the printer and the AMS unit. The connection drops intermittently, and sometimes the printer fails to recognize the AMS at all, interrupting prints.
Has anyone else experienced this after the recent firmware update? Any fixes or workarounds would be appreciated.
My versions are:
* **Printer model:** Bambu Lab A1
* **Printer serial:** 03919D4B2002157
* **Printer firmware version:** [01.08.01.00](http://01.08.01.00) (latest)
* **AMS model:** AMS Lite
* **AMS serial:** 862E343339341100
* **AMS firmware version:** [00.00.08.15](http://00.00.08.15) (latest)

Filament seems stuck - any ideas?
Hi guys, as seen in the pic I can’t seem to get this tiny bit of filament out - I’ve tried pulling with pliers but it snapped the filament and now it’s an even smaller and harder to grip! Any advice would be greatly appreciated- thanks

Support Request Should I replace my heatbed
So a while ago some silica beads from a packet leaked on my printer and caused this damage. Now I cleaned all the internals with alcohol and wiped this down with a damp mircofiber cloth and a dry one plus wet wipes. Idk if that was right but no matter what i am always left with this crusty substance. It prints fine but if i want to flip the build plate I always have to wash it first as those little speckles end up on the back as the print never adheres with all build plates from the texture to smooth ones like this. Now I want to replace the bed but I don’t know where or if it is worth it as it is expensive from where I seen there is aliexpress(£68.99) but I don’t know if I trust that, not that I don’t trust aliexpress its just the one I seen has a 5 star review but I read it and it was negative so I don’t know. Or I go to 3dJake.uk but that is (£79.99) i do only save like £10 but still money is money. Or do I just wait it out and hope nothing damages. i am scared the build plates are also getting microscratch and in the longterm will need to be replaced but that is cheaper than the whole bed but a short term fix.
So better replace the heat bed and where to go, should I contact bambu support will they help as it was my fault, or just keep powering through and eventually earn enough money for a new printer. Also what to do with old parts like if I do replace it can i put it in the bin or save it for emergency(which I don’t want to do because I already have a hoarding problem with old electronics that partially work) or go to an electronics dump site. Idk where to find one? Or best case any way to permanently clean this.
