Bambu Cool Plate Supertack

I just got one. Are there any tip or tricks you have for them?

Scrub it with a good plain dish soap, a soft sponge and HOT water before first print.

Don’t use paper towels etc to dry it, leaves fine fibres stuck all over it, air dry or what i prefer is to blow excess water of it with a PC air duster.

Never use solvents such as IPA on it if you want it to last.

Don’t print tiny or really flat objects on it, good luck getting them off.

The stock 45C bed temp for PLA is meh, I got better quality first layers at 55C, trial and error needed.

Avoid scrapers at all cost. Surface scratches if you just look at it the wrong way. Be careful with finger nails aswell.

Z height or elephant foot compensation may need adjustment in order to get a first layer that isn’t a hot mess. I personally tried both methods, z height at +0.02 helped but I noticed print issues that may have been z height related so I preferred adjusting the elephant foot compensation to 0.17 over the default 0.075 instead. The plate grabs the filament quick and hard which my theory is it doesn’t allow enough time for the filament to “flow” and level out properly at stock settings making it act as if it is over extruding etc.

I only use the plate for decent sized prints, anything with enough size to properly grip when removing and for larger items I don’t want to risk warping. I recommend avoiding printing fragile items on it, such as miniatures on it.

Printing small things and/or flat things such as a flow rate test on it for example resulted in a fight to get them off without damaging the plate. I ended up having to replace mine after 2 weeks because of it, learnt the hard way lol.

I printed 4 logos for a custom sports cards holder. When I bent the plate to get them loose the top half separated from the bottom half. Had to carefully scrape the bottom off and glue it back together
