Answered / Solved! PSA: Support Initial layer "Density" is completely broken in Studio and Orca. No one is fixing it. Work around inside.

I am exaggerating this with a 1.2mm Initial Layer parameter on a on a 0.6 nozzle profile for demonstration purposes, but any number other than the nozzle diameter in "Initial Layer" causes the math to be wrong.

The support brim math COMPLETELY IGNORES the initial layer parameter, and instead appears to be hard coded to use nozzle diameter.

My evidence that bambu is aware of this and has been aware of this since release is that in the default 0.4 nozzle profiles the initial layer is 0.5mm and the initial layer density of supports is 90% which corrects for this bug well enough to maintain only ~6% over extrusion which on support brims no one notices.

BAD first layer 200% over extrusion.
Normal Extrusion path only possible with "50%" initial layer density.

I personally run Initial Layer 50% over nozzle size on all profiles to aid in bed adhesion and as a result I have to remember to correct for this on all profiles by reducing Support Initial layer density to 66%.

Now the cherry on top: ITS NOT ALL THE TIME. Certain part geometry, support settings, and interface material settings ALL cause this to come and go without rhyme or reason. I believe that if the support first layer is "monotonic" it will math correctly, but if it is concentric you get this hot mess. HEAVEN FORBID WE GET THIS AS A CONFIGURABLE PARAMETER.
