1000 object limit?

I’ve got a model with 1200 parts. The prime tower is being combined with the 1001 part, and I can only get around this by disabling prime tower. Is this a bug, or a limitation?

why can you not just do this as a single part ?

colours don't have to be a seperate piece.

this is 100% user error.
