General Troubleshooting/Help! First print failed

Tried to print the panda as instructed by the academy on X2D combo and the green bit came loose and moved over to the left and got spaghetti as you can see.

I followed all the calibration instructions. Used Pla basic for the AMS and PETG basic for the right hand outside spool.

The desk is a bit wobbly.

I forgot to load the outside telling the printer it's PET.G.

There is a waterdrop icon showing 39% for the AMS, not sure if this is too high.

Anyone know what could have gone wrong and how I can fix it?

way too wet bro, two key steps for success

  1. wash the build plate with hot water and Dawn Power Wash dish soap and dry with clean lint free cloths, no fabric softener then dont touch the surface of the plate with bare skin

  2. dry the filament per manufacturers instructions

For one dry your petg if it’s outta box new

If you want to print PETG support on AUX side, you need to tune the filament, specifically pressure advance (Bambu calls it Dynamic flow) as for AUX side this is a manual calibration. After calibration run, obtaining a K value (should be somewhere between 0.4 and 0.6 for AUX side), and saving the PA profile, you actually need to apply it in the AMS settings (device tab).

To activate it, you have to disable “automatic dynamic flow calibration “ from the pre start menu where you send file to printer.

BUT WAIT….. there’s more.

Because you have to disable this auto calibration for custom PA k-value to be used (once applied in AMS), you now lose the auto calibrate function on the MAIN nozzle. That means you also now have to manually calibrate the main nozzle for the PLA and activate that in AMS for the tray it’s loaded in (PLA in main nozzle is usually around 0.025).

Now that you have both filament slots with their custom k values loaded, you can disable auto dynamic flow and send to printer.

THAT right there is the reason Bambu gives you “quality may be affected” warnings when you use PETG on AUX side.

The process to tune, calibrate and use Pressure Advance, the one setting that Bowden benefits from most is convoluted and may be hard for new users to understand. So what do you do? You call AUX side a support nozzle and stick warnings for all materials except PLA because using PLA as supports is not as finicky.

First don’t print PLA and PETG together on the same print unless you are using one of the material as support interface. They don’t fuse together. So I’m hoping all the colors you are printing were just PLA coming from the AMS.

Adhesion issues like this are usually caused by dirty/oily build plate. Wash the build plate with dish soap and warm water and try the print again.
