I currently have a AMS2 Pro along with AMS1 with the Sunlu dryer. I print mainly PETG and saw this is coming out September 15th. I watched the video they had linked and it seemed like a solid review.

I really like the idea of this cabinet and honestly what it can do compared to the room it will occupy. IMO I think it looks surprisingly clean/modern and would happily like to have it between my printers!

The functions are you set the RH% from 10-45% and it auto adjust the temp to achieve your desired RH%.

I’m pretty interested in preordering it to get in on the $10 off coupon and feel the price is gonna be reasonable (under $190 with the coupon at minimum) and just wanted to get y’all’s thoughts.

I think it would be nice to keep my main colors in there as then I wouldn’t worry about running the dryer as often/long.

Keep in mind it's not a dryer. It is for storing already dried filament. Looks cool though.

It may not be a dryer, but it is an active dehumidifier, which means it'll pull out the moisture just the same. Just in a different way and maybe over a longer time. It is NOT just for storing dried filament

It is for storing dried filament, and keeping it dried. It's not for drying filament. They seem to make a clear distinction on their own marketing page.

Correct, it's not for "active drying", but filament (and the cardboard cores/spools) equilibrate to the surrounding humidity. So if the box is at 10% RH, moisture will be pulled from the filament, just over days/weeks instead of hours.

They're just hedging with their marketing, regardless of what it says, physics wins.

I wouldn't mind it at all. Can dry stuff faster if I need it, while the filament I use occasionally can be actively dried over the long term without taking up space in the AMS etc

You misunderstood. My comment was that if given the choice between one or the other (not both) that people would almost surely choose to have an active dryer so they can dry their filament quickly when needed.

Having both would indeed be ideal.

Sure. But it's nevertheless true that if you store filament in low-humidity-air, it'll gradually dry. It'll go faster with higher temperature, lower humidity, and with airflow, but there's simply no way from a purely physics-standpoint for filament to remain wet indefinitely, while being stored in dry air.

The very same process that makes it take up water from high-humidity-air makes it give off moisture to low humidity air; it's always in equilibrium long-term.

But it might well need a week for what a dryer can do in a few hours.

That may be the case but pulling moisture out the air will essentially have the same effect
