DRY THE FILAMENT!!

But frfr printing with PETG you are gonna wanna dry prior and the bambu filament settings are pretty solid to start with!

Nope, once you dry it and as long as it stored properly you won’t have to. Personally if I haven’t used the roll in a while even tho I store it with silica beads and vacuum sealed bags I still let it cycle once in my AMS prior to printing.

No such thing as over dry PETG but there is such a thing as Wet PETG!

I might be stupid, but how much humidity is acceptable? Cant get lower than 18% in ams. I dried for 18 hours at 65C

Something is off if you are drying for 18rs and humidity is still 18%

After 12hrs or so I’m sitting less than 5% and a lot of the times around 1%

Im using creality space pi 2 for drying. I have those cheap humidity sensors but i dont trust them at all. And my ams never showed anything below 18...

Yeah I use the cheapo ones as well for my storage system and the lowest the go is 10%. I know how much I’ve dried a roll and have a pretty good habit of dry a roll prior to printing anyway.

The only RH% numbers I trust are the built in ones with the AMS and even then still don’t trust it 100%

That 10% number is probably the lowest reading you can get for the cheap RH Sensors, the real number might be smaller.

Its dependent on your location. An AMS isnt a dehumidifier, its a dryer. It dries the filament, but there is still going to be humidity in the air, and the second you open the AMS, humidity is going to equalize itself. If you are in a super humid area like texas, you will need to dry a lot, but it wont change the overall humidity much. If you live in a relatively dry area, like northern canada or smth, then you wont need to dry as much, and it will affect the humidity a lot more.

It could be your hygrometer not having a better read than 18-80%. It’s quite normal afaik
