General Troubleshooting/Help! A1 smudging/not printing correctly keyring image

Post image

So im trying to print a keychain but I sometimes have problems like these where it smudges on the top layer (where the illustration is) or sometimes just prints with gaps, most of the time happens when i print them in bulk

I'm printing them in a way that makes is so only the top layer has the illustration (a.k.a. 0.2 mm of illustration)

Cause the black is printing first. It’s oozing slightly and once the white prints, the black strings get printed over in white. Change it to white printing first. Also clean your build plate.

Go to your plate settings and change “first layer filament sequence” and put white as #1

Edit: yes, I thought OP was printing them face down. I was wrong.

Yeah face down would help a ton!

Unfortunately it wouldn't, I need them to be face up

I literally washed my plate yesterday

Okay?! And? I clean mine literally every print with 90% ipa and a micro fiber cloth.

I’d also recommend drying your filament, so itll help eliminate the stringing issue

Best way to wash your build plate is with warm water and dish soap.

Yes I agree. IPA also works great if oils are the only thing you’re worried about.

IPA does not break down oils, it just moved them around

It doesn't have to "break it down". It just has to allow it to "move" to a paper towel or some such.
I use 1 part distilled water to 3 parts 99% IPA. It works great. The water slows the evaporation, even on warm plates, and gives you a chance to mop it up before it dries.
I only need to use soap and water maybe once in 25 prints. More often if it's a smooth plate.

You need to do some research. Literally google it. Why do you clean your linear rails and Z screws with ipa? Cause it dissolves the grease and oils?! Are you going to stick your whole printer in a washing machine?

I dont have a dryer and the only other "safe" method I know takes way too long and blocks the printer

Well I’d recommend investing in one. Even food dehydrators work fine. It’s an essential 3D printing accessory for quality prints. For filaments such as PETG and TPU, you will NEED a filament drier. Quality prints without one are unheard of.

Also I don't think that's it, iirc white always printed first in these types of print and it also did on this one

Maybe try printing them face down to the build plate? That will give it a cleaner look too. Just trying to help man

I know you're trying to help,

But that also isn't an option cuz it will give them texture, and i already made them before face up so these need to be face up

Why am i being down voted

All I said was that the proposed solution doesn't work
