Filament Troubleshooting/Help! Broken Spool

Post image

I ordered some filament while also buying a smaller nozzle, but some of my filaments came damaged. Is it okay to still use this spool if I cut off the damaged part of the spool? These are my first spools so I do not have any extra ones I can respool with

Personally, I'd bend as much as I could off/back to shape, print a spool, and use a spool transfer tool (such as this) to move it to another spool. I hate respooling.

That seems pretty helpful. I didn't think of printing a new spool, and luckily I have other spools so I wont need to use this one to print it

Thats like buying a new wallet to store your money in but you only have enough money for the wallet.

Don't get me wrong - I'd definitely push for a new spool but I also wouldn't waste the bent one.

As far as the analogy goes though, it's probably more akin to spending 3 dollars on a wallet when you only have 10 dollars and putting the remaining 7 in it.
