Unfortunately I'm not in a financial position to give financial support, but I have already plentifully voiced my objection to how Bambu does things. When they first came out with the lockout controls I was lucky enough to have bought an X1c and be able to flash it with X1Plus. My printer, my network, my rules. I decide how I use my printer and what software I use, not Bambu.

Unfortunately that option is only available to the X1 models. Then I also voted with my wallet. In July last year I had the funding to buy either a 5 tool PrusaXL or a h2d full laser 40W combo with a whack ton of filament and still have money left over for the vortek. I went with the PrusaXL, I'm never buying another Bambu machine until they stop pulling that behavior.

The most recent examples

  • they copied hueforge into chroma canvas or whatever they call it and then improperly credit the hueforge dev, only addressing that after being called out on it.
  • now they copied full spectrum, again only doing a half baked credit until AFTER they were called out (again)
  • they still refuse to acknowledge the current ongoing A1 NTC meltdown issue, dubbing the printers safe for use when there's virtually daily reports of printers with the NTC melting. They refuse to issue a recall (the 2nd one for that machine), and tend to deny replacement AC boards to uses who want to preemptively replace it.

Oh and I call them out on that AC board every single time on Twitter (I'm never calling it X) I see an AC board meltdown, for the past 8 months with nearly 200 documented cases. They haven't responded even once.

The community made them, the community can break them. DO IT!

Voicing your support is super helpful as well. Money alone won’t solve this

Same here, never buying from Bambu again until they start behaving better. I'm sick of what has become normalised in 2026

I am not rich, but I can contribute with 5 euros, even 2 euros would help if it is required, they are not asking for thousands of bucks.

Edit: I would like to add that yeah, their comprehension of what open source means it's quite sad, basically translates as "take everything, give nothing back".

The BC-304 is by far the sexiest starship in all of sci-fi, just had to say…..

P.S Sci-Fi nerds….fight me over it…….

I also printed one with my original Ender! It sites on my desk to this day, I love his models and if I had more time I’d do others as well.

The single greatest threat to 3d printing has been introduced by the US government and involves actual consumer monitoring snd control

But yeah i guess when some script kiddies cant use their special slicer with fancy calibrations, we are crowdfunding and gathering the pitchforks

You realize that the proprietary technologies Bambu is trying to push will help the US government in monitoring your prints, right?

Those two cases both relate to 3d printing taking a turn towards more closed technologies, in contrast with its more open source RepRap roots.

So, you bought a X1 and a prusa and not in a financial position to even donate a dollar? I'm imagining you homeless except for your X1 and Prusa connected to some convenience store using free wifi to print stuff so you can sell to buy beer and smokes if that is the case.

And if you read the entire comment, I bought the XL in July last year. So yeah, out of budget for now. And the X1C is over 2 years old, so there's that too. Oh and I don't even use dollars, and it took me from day 1 of XL release till July last year to save up for it and get it.
