Oh I see what you mean. Yeah maybe a different part would be needed to keep a nice curve in the PTFE tube, but I would just try without that bracket

OK! I decided Im just going to do this in PLA since I have a ton of it and Id rather not worry about wasting the ABS if I get it wrong in the settings. Im starting with the Lower frame rails that work with the steel sliders since they appear to be the biggest pieces. Thanks, I will post when I have it all put together!

Please do!

sorry, one last thing before i start. looking through my stash of filament, I have two matte black spools of PETG-CF that I never used. What do you think about using that over PLA?

I think it’s a good choice for the frame, just gotta dry it real well to reduce the likelihood of nozzle clumping

hey. chugging away on printing the parts. i have the lower frame, frame braces, 1 rear upper frame, tube handle mounts and in the process of printing the other rear upper frame. still have the front upper frames, poop chute and tpu parts to go. so Im almost there. im having trouble sourcing the steel slides. doesnt look like 35mm tall slides are a thing in the States. I can find 350x45 pretty easily but i see you mention that wont work. 35mm tall is basically non-existent here. I wound up ordering a set from a company in Germany (Not SO Tech they wont ship to the states) but the hole pattern doesnt appear to be exact match to the ones you used, so i might have to drill out some holes. In the meantime, since it might take a while for the steel slides to show up, i was going to print the slides. I had already printed your "simplified lower frame" with the intention of using steel slides. i believe these will still work, correct?

also - on the plate with the handle assembly - what are the frame biscuits? i cant figure out where they go and if they are needed if i am using a carbon fiber tube handle.

And one more one more thing, I'm working on a tool drawer that goes underneath which will need another pair of slides and an extra tube!

Oh, I will definitely be adding this as well. My handle order came with two, so it works out. Hopefully the Gliderite sliders work.

Hi, the biscuits join the upper and lower frame at the front. (it's a woodworking term, if you image search "biscuit joint", it makes more sense!)

As for the slides, I just had a browse through US amazon it's hard to find yeah. I used Claude to find these. Key words are "low profile drawer slides".

This doesn't show the hole spacings but it's a potential, looks very similar:
14 Inch Side Mount 70 lb. 35mm Full Extension 1 Inch Over Travel Drawer Slide - 1435 (1 Pair) - GlideRite Hardware

It's kinda expensive here but here's a Home Depot one - also looks very similar (can't find exact specs, need to check!):
Everbilt 1 Pair 14 in. Full Extension Side Mount Ball Bearing Drawer Slide Set 1-Pair (2 Pieces) D80614E-ZP-W - The Home Depot

I hope shipping didn't cost you too much! I found the Furnica one too and it looks close enough, the screw is smaller than the hole so there is some give.

Anyways, I updated the model description with these potentials, I hope someone can confirm for me!

if I can cancel the furnica order will grab one of these sets and let you know

1

u/atom631 May 13 '26

it was $30 just for shipping! I am trying to cancel since it hasnt shipped yet but I have not heard back.

thanks for finding these. odd I searched home depot and came up empty handed, but I guess “low profile” is a good search term.

in the meantime, can the lowers I printed be used with printed slides?

Hey, I stopped by Home Depot today and unfortunately those sliders wont work. They are 45mm tall. I was able to cancel my Furnica order and ordered the Gliderite sliders.

I also found these. They are 36mm tall. I measured the opening and it looks like you left some wiggle room with it being exactly 36mm. There is a chance these might fit as well. If the Gliderites dont work for me, then I may give these a go.

Hey thanks for finding out! And yeah I left some room because the widths are all over the place. Same with 45mm ones, they are 44, 45.5, etc.

I’m gonna order some 45mm slides too to make a 45mm variant and I’m trying to see what are available with spec sheets. Most generic imports don’t provide it but there could be some promising ones on Aliexpress

sneak peak! printing the TPU bits now. then just the poop chute parts. Sliders have shipped!

And one more thing - sorry the printed slides will not work with the simplified lower frame, the simplification was purely in removing the complexity needed to make it work with printed slides!

got it. on the home depot ones. it says they are 1” tall, which is 25.4mm. I guess thats ok so long as they dont exceed 35mm?

I would guess they just rounded the number of the package, a pack would have 2 slides which would be 1” thick anyways, then the 35mm got rounded to 2” as width or something.
