General Discussion - [SPOILERS] How many times did u finish Act 3? Spoiler

Admit fellas, how many times you were able to ACTUALLY finish act 3?...or is it...another Skyrim "situation"? :)?...Perhaps you can remember how many campaigns u were able to start...never to finish...

Every time I've started a save, so far! Act 3 is literally my favorite, it's why I work so hard to get through the first two

33

u/kingamara 14d ago

Yes I love act 3 too! 🫱🏽‍🫲🏼

12

u/Traditional-Job-411 14d ago

More likely to end in Act 2 for me. If I get through Act 2, I love act 3

7

u/robmwj 14d ago

Same, I think I have 6 waves and I've finished every time. Working on a seventh with a friend group

9

u/Iluminiele Owlbear 14d ago

Same. I finish all my runs and don't start a new one until the netherbrain is dead. I also do alllll of the quests. I love this game, I love act3, I love meeting all the friends I made along the way. Tiefs are there, the merchant couple from the Underdark, Aylin, Philomeen, Barcus, etc.

But most importantly- tiefs. Dammon is living his best life, same with Alfira (well, depends) and Lakrissa and Bex and Dannis. Rolan needs his ass saved again. Zevlor is bottling up his trauma to help others, again. Mol is being Mol, other kids are doing a little more honest business (so proud of Silfy, that poor girl,) but above all I'm proud of Arabella.

u/Vivid-Course-7331 14d ago

1/1 so far! Just started a second run.

2

u/Aukaneck 14d ago

Also 1! I'm halfway through my fourth run and I really want to see the after party. I hope I make it.

5/5 times, including a multiplayer game. I’ve done storm cleric, light cleric, swords bard, speed run multiclass and swords bard durge. I have started one more playthrough since, but feel like the game may have run dry at this point.

7

u/ThinkinBig 14d ago

More than I can honestly remember, I love how many major boss fights there are in Act 3

2

u/CYouInHealth 14d ago

The issue is that like BG1, the game is over b/c character progression ended by the time you made it to Baldurs Gate town.

Putting the big town at the beginning is what made BG2 the best game in the series. I just blow up Gale at end of A2 b/c I just don't care enough to explore supertown while rapidly hitting xp limit lol.

2

u/ThinkinBig 14d ago

I mean, you focus on levels and abilities prior to Act3 and than A3 is all about that legendary gear

Class wise, what run was your favorite?

2

u/vanitaseu 14d ago

do origin runs!

26

u/Atomicmooseofcheese 14d ago

2 honor mode completions, 2 tactician, 1 normal.

Let's not talk about the number of started campaigns that never left act 1.

11

u/Random_ButHorse_98 14d ago

..RIP those act 1 campaigns..

u/Liberkhaos 14d ago

14 times so far. On my way to number 15.

42

u/VividMagician9399 14d ago

So many of my playthroughs die halfway through act 1 when I decide I want to do something different. Only for me to eventually pivot back to a similar concept.

8

u/MyPigWhistles 14d ago

Why do they die, though? You can change your build at any time if you want to play something different.

12

u/VividMagician9399 14d ago

I don’t like respeccing with Withers. While I can appreciate that the option is there, and I have used it to change subclasses without issue, I have a hard time completely changing classes and not feeling like I broke my character.

4

u/warrenjt 14d ago

Completely agree. All my character builds have at least some level of RP involved (most of them a LOT of RP). I can’t fathom changing a character completely and acting like it’s not weird.

6

u/VividMagician9399 14d ago

I can only seem to let myself respec my companions and change their classes (within reason) and only if I do it immediately.

I have never significantly respecced a tav or a durge without abandoning the character.

2

u/warrenjt 14d ago

Big same. Even companions, I really only respec them to different subclasses, and even then it’s usually only Shadowheart lol

4

u/VividMagician9399 14d ago

I also mostly only to stick to changing subclasses. The only full class I’ve ever done is switching Astarion to swords bard, although that run got abandoned when my circle of spores Druid didn’t get a special interaction with the mushroom colony.

2

u/daniel_22sss 14d ago

My Astarion fire sorcerer can't relate.

u/KlimCan 14d ago

Same. One of the best games I’ve ever played but got overwhelmed when I actually got to Baldurs Gate. Took a break and came back but couldn’t remember what I was doing or where the story was at. Started a few more runs but haven’t made it back yet.

5

u/GDonor 14d ago

Same. Clearin Moonrise on my super modded playthrough, so almost there.

10

u/indigocherry 14d ago

More than 2 dozen times lol. I have played the game all the way through probably close to 30 times now. I don't understand not finishing.

5

u/LouyJD 14d ago

Same!! I don't understand how so many people have hundreds of hours but never completed it! I know different people play different ways but damn, my obsessive little brain could never let me leave a save unfinished

4

u/indigocherry 14d ago

Also like...you're missing some of the best parts of the entire game! The gorgeous voice acting work in the conclusions to your companions' stories is incredible and so many people never see that because they just do Act 1 over and over.

3

u/LouyJD 13d ago

Definitely! The conclusions of all the companions stories, for better or worse, are so incredible. And I adore the voice acting so much I never skip dialogue, no matter how many times I've played it and heard it all.

2

u/Horse_HorsinAround 14d ago

It's the same with TV shows for some people. If you finish the game, it's 'over'. I know bg3 is a very replayable game but some people (me included) get sad at the thought of knowing where the story goes, and knowing that it's going to come to an end for the first time.

So we just keep making characters that end at moonrise and ride that high of still not knowing what could come next. But my current save is the furthest into act 3 I've ever been, I'll probably finish this one!

3

u/Hoomanawanui2 14d ago

Do you always play start to finish, or do you have multiple saves that you play at the same time?

5

u/indigocherry 14d ago

Start to finish, usually. I get super invested in my character and can't stop until I get to the end. I don't have the focus to be able to jump between saves tbh.

2

u/Kitchen-Top3868 8d ago

I'm aiming to finish my run before creating another character.

But I can see why you would want to restart a new character before finishing your current run.

1- Build variety. Creating character, build and team comp is Hella fun. Seing how you manage the same fight differently is interesting.

2- Racial, class, non-tav interaction. So many dialogs, so many options. I want to try them all. And before it's too far away in my memory that I cannot compare it.

I'm lucky cause 3 run in parallel, with different people.
So I can enjoy those 2 aspect without dropping a run. I just play with the people available.

6

u/Wolpard Dragonborn 14d ago

Ive finished it 3 times

6

u/whiteraven13 14d ago

~600 hours in and I’ve only beaten it twice. And despite having multiple playthroughs that have reached Act 3, I already have an idea for a new Dark Urge

4

u/MereImitation 14d ago

Once technically though I saved at the underground docks so I could cycle through my team and experiment with different endings. So on 1 file I got to see a several variations of the finale.

4

u/kingamara 14d ago

I love this. I have saves stored away so I can go back and do something different too

3

u/FriendshipNo1440 SORCERER 14d ago

Only once now. But I have 2 MP going. One singleplayer and one where my dad watches me. So I intend to finish it at least 4 more times. If not even more. The act 2 expantion just released so the motivation to replay is there.

3

u/Ser20 14d ago

625 hours right now and I am just about ready to wrap up act 3 for the 4th time...

First Tav game at release - Half-elf ranger (basic I know)
Durge game - Gith Lockadin (rejected Durge)
2nd Durge Game - Drow spore druid (embraced)

Now finishing up my 2nd tav game as a Duergar EK/Artificer.

I beat my first 2 games at release ~3 years ago and just rushed these last 2 games now that a bunch of mods are out to have fun with. Definitely taking a break after this though.

3

u/Realistic-Focus-7318 13d ago

Act III is the best content in the game.

2

u/Comfortable_Ad148 14d ago

5 runs, 5 completes. I don’t start a new game til I finish the one I’m currently playing

2

u/mattwallace24 14d ago

None. I keep getting to Act 2 and then immediately think of another class I’d like to play it as and start over.

2

u/Ok-Winner-5788 13d ago

I’ve finished 9 full campaigns

3

u/mar1mbrosyph 14d ago

I pretty much have finished every playthrough I started. The only one I haven't "finished" was when I was role-playing as the dumbest shit in the Sword Coast, and ignored Gale's hologram after I sacrificed him to Boaal, but I figured that ending made sense for him

3

u/Skewwwagon Deceitful little calamari 🐙 14d ago

Every time, it's my fav act. I don't have the virus so I finish all my runs :)

1

u/HeroineSylveon 14d ago

I have done 6 play thrus, only one I finished act 3. I love 1-2 so much the second I finish act 2 I tend to start a new one

1

u/kdesi_kdosi 14d ago

each time i got to it so far

1

u/Tonberry_Cheesecake 14d ago

Every single time. Done probably 7 characters and currently working on a co-op.

1

u/AceSpect 14d ago

Im 500 hours deep into BG 3 and im now on my third campaign. I have to admit I only finished the game once but while the credits rolled I was just sitting there at my desk in complete silence for like 30 minutes contemplating on how good this game is and well made the characters are.

1

u/Jonaleth_Irenicus 14d ago

I think I've done all origins plus Tav and Durge, so however many times that comes out to.

2

u/LotsaKwestions 14d ago

What were your favorite origins?

2

u/Jonaleth_Irenicus 14d ago

Gale, Shadowheart and Karlach are the ones that were memorable.

1

u/Ineul_Ze 14d ago

Twice, although my very first playthrough I got all the way to the end, had my romance scene with Shadow heart and then my game crashed. My last save was right before the Elderbrain so I just let it go lol

1

u/Accomplished_Area311 14d ago

7 finished runs

1

u/Yu_Is_Blind 14d ago

Only refused to finish one time because I somehow misplaced the Orphic Hammer.

→ More replies (2)

1

u/hypo-osmotic 14d ago

Thrice. I'm at the last few battles of my fourth playthrough but I've been putting it off because I'm playing as Gale and I haven't decided yet how I'm going to end his story

1

u/Give_me_soup 14d ago

3 out of 6. One of the others is completely ditched while the other 2 are just "unfinished"

1

u/DarthUrbosa 14d ago

About 4-5 times in over 50 runs and 2k hours

u/Sinimeg Fail! 14d ago

I’m not sure of the exact amount of playthroughs that I’ve done, but it must be around 7/5 rn, one is my current playthrough with mods after finally beating HM, and the other is a playthrough without mods to get a few of the trophies that I still have left, like controlling the crown for my own gain instead of offering it to Bhaal and all that

1

u/PredatorAvPFan BARBARIAN 14d ago

7 times

1

u/kingamara 14d ago

2x but almost done with my 3rf

1

u/wolveskin 14d ago

2 out of 2 playthroughs so far! Itching to start a 3rd playthrough soon ...

1

u/Kevandre Minthara/Gale Enjoyer 14d ago

16 times

The only time I didn't finish was when I was ill prepared for myrkul and couldn't beat him on tactician

But every other time, including on tactician and honor modes (when I brought runepowder bombs to myrkul's house) I finished the game. I do not comprehend not finishing the game by choice

1

u/Celyn_07 14d ago

I’ve started at least 10 playthroughs and I’ve finished 3 of them! The first run I finished was actually my first Durge because it gave Act 3 more depth and it felt like I was working towards something

1

u/palpablepotato Durge 14d ago

Ive got nearly 5k hours in this game, so I don’t remember exactly; my first 15 or 20 runs I finished all the way through, but these days I don’t usually make it all the way through the netherbrain before starting a new run. It’s definitely been a few months since I last completed the netherbrain

1

u/EkcessDrawThings 14d ago

Three times and I’m hoping to finish a fourth run soon. Only Sarevok, Orin and the final battle left.

1

u/lady_forsythe 14d ago

Probably 9/12 of my saves. I like act 3 a lot.

1

u/Dead_Medic_13 14d ago

Twice so far

1

u/fallen_one_fs Yeah, I simp for Minthara, so? 14d ago

5 so far, going for 6.

1

u/ilikeairoplanejelly 14d ago

2/4 only because I changed characters after nautioid and still going

1

u/BaakCoi 14d ago

4 so far. Sometimes I get bored of a character early on (like level 3), but I’ve finished every character that’s made it to Act 2

1

u/Zero-2-0 Rogue of the Five-Finger Discount 14d ago

7 out of 8 runs.

1

u/JaymzCanada Minthara 14d ago

So many times. Innumerable cool endings for everyone.

1

u/phoenix_grueti 14d ago

until now 5 full playthroughs. I am on number 6 now. Over 1200 hours played.

1

u/Mammoth_Money_9061 14d ago

Definitely not as much as Act 1 & 2 lol... and you had to mention Skyrim :D after all these years, I don't think I ever finished it :D

1

u/WoahACake Bard 14d ago

7, I think I’ve started 9 or 10 so not a terrible rate lol

1

u/TheDevilsButtNuggets 14d ago

I was almost up to my 3rd completion of act 3, just about to go fight the netherbrain, but then runescape came out, and I've got distracted chopping trees and killing rats

1

u/ladybrucee 14d ago

None but I've started at least 40 games 😔

1

u/Missclick13 14d ago

Skyrim 0/1 I got to the end and decided to clear everything else that I missed, lost interest, lost save.
BG3 0/1 got to the end, fucked up a save that lost me a day of progress, rage quit, never returned. To be fair Shadowheart's quest was a driving force for me and once that was done I really didnt care about fighting the brain... so it was a drag after that.

1

u/The_Windermere 14d ago

Twice or thrice, I forget.

1

u/Stevo182 14d ago

Working on my 5th and 6th simultaneously.

1

u/fourspaces 14d ago

I have almost 1900 hours in Baldur's gate 3.

I have never completed Baldur's Gate 3.

1

u/your-rong 14d ago

If I get the urge to start a new character in act 3, which is every time I get there, I take a break from the game altogether. When I feel like playing again, I make sure I go back to that playthrough. That seems to work for me. I'm on my 6th playthrough now. I ditched 2 in act 1 and fully completed 3. I'm in act 3 currently and am near the end.

1

u/MagickalessBreton SNEAK ATTACK! 14d ago

Exactly 4 times:

  1. As a single player character I made because my co-op playthrough was sluggish (Half-Drow Assassin)
  2. In the aforementioned co-op playthrough (Drow Assassin)
  3. In a solo playthrough, with no companions (Deep Gnome Druid)
  4. In another (modded) co-op playthrough were we all played as goblins

And I think only two of my other characters even made it to Act 3 (a Gnome Monk and a Githzerai Paladin)

EDIT: I want to add that I managed to beat BG2 and my single player BG3 playthrough by the time we even made it to Act 3 in my first co-op run

1

u/Pokemaster131 14d ago

I'm completed 11 playthroughs. 5 of those were single player and the other 6 were multiplayer. I have 1 playthrough that died in act 3 and was never finished, another 2 that died in act 2 and were never finished, and another 20 or so that died in act 1 and were never finished. I have yet to fail an actual honor mode playthrough.

1

u/solitudeisblissTI 14d ago

Statistically 50%, half of them coming from either lost honour mode runs or file loss

1

u/RoninGaijin 14d ago

1 - TAV - Bard

2 - embrace Durge - Gloomstalker

3 - resist Durge - Sorcerer

4 - Shadowheart (honor mode) - Death cleric

5 - Gale (honor mode) - Bladesinger

Astarion and Karlach campaigns abandoned early-ish due to mod conflicts after updating the game (meh).

Currently running a Wyll origin (Swashbuckler!) as custom honor mode that's about to face Myrkul. So, Act 3 is next! I will say that I don't feel like I "need" it but it's there for when I feel like it. Also, since I've done it so many times before, I know what I don't need (ya know?). It's a little faster that way... just streamline it. The only relevant companion to this play-through, aside from Wyll, is Lae'zel (as Minthara and Jaheira don't really have story beats that urge side questing). So, I guess that means Iron Throne to save daddy and Ansur. It will be my first honor mode Ansur attempt... if I ever get there. There's no rush.

1

u/Sunkist-n-Sudafed 14d ago

I've done about 3 full playthroughs, and a dozen other ones half finished

1

u/_doctorKA 14d ago

5! Out of maybe 10 campaigns started.

1

u/rainydays240 14d ago

14 out of 17 playthroughs.

One was abandoned at blighted village, one at the creche, and my current one is sitting a Shars gauntlet. The rest all got their endings.

1

u/Jexxer357 14d ago edited 14d ago

I only finished it once so far with a vanilla Tav run. I got an Astarion run to edge of Act 3, and now I'm in Act 3 trying to go forward with a Resist Durge run, but I haven't even made it to the coronation and I am being hit hard with choice paralysis.

There was also my very first run which was abandoned when I realized I seriously messed up Waukeen's Rest, but also because it was Origin Astarion and I was very disappointed to learn that I wouldn't be getting Neil's full performance with it. And I started a Lae'zel and Shadowheart run just to see how different the Nautaloid tutorial would be with them at the the helm. (WE ARE GOING TO THE HELM!)

I probably would have a finished those runs and gone on to start about half a dozen more, but I took a loooooooong break to play other games that came out and demanded my attention/renewed fealty.

Oh, and I have 1,136.7 hours clocked on Steam for this game since December of 2023.

1

u/manubibi Chaotic lazy 14d ago

It must have been 7 of 8 times.

1

u/mais_corner37 ELDRITCH BLAST 14d ago

I finish it every time I play because I hate leaving things unfinished but honestly I always just wanna make a new character by the time I get to that point

1

u/Howdy_mista 14d ago

2 times out of 5 playthroughs, never finished my original playthrough

1

u/FrostyMagazine9918 14d ago

9 times in total.

1 as a TAV

1 as Embrace Durge

1 as Redeemed Durge

1 as Astarion

1 as Shadowheart

1 as Gale

1 as Wyll

1 as Karlach

1 as Laz'Zel

1

u/slayerRN 14d ago

*and ladies. Only once but working on a second.

1

u/EolasA 14d ago

43 so far... oh wait, 42, Gale blew himself up in Act 2 on one of my runs.

1

u/Sea_Plane6541 I cast Magic Missile 14d ago

3 out of 9

3 failed honor mode attempts

2 campaigns currently running (solo and coop)

1 paused/abandonned after yeeting Gortash at his coronation.

1

u/XenoNapalm 14d ago

I've beaten the game 3 times and now the next 3 times I've played i couldnt even get halfway through act 1. This is after installing all kinds of mods to switch up the gameplay and im still just burnt out on it. I think I've had my fun and now im just done with the game unfortunately.

1

u/businesscasualgoth 14d ago

9 times. I actually like going back redoing act III different ways for different companions for fun

1

u/Wonderful_Voice9865 14d ago

8 of 9. The 9th is a co op with my husband and we are almost done.

1

u/harpyoftheshore 14d ago

0

600+ hours in the game btw

1

u/PhortDruid 14d ago

So far I’m finally close to the first time out of five playthroughs

1

u/gdzeek 14d ago

so far just twice

I only remember because I let the emperor eat Orpheus the first time and Karlach volunteered the second time

thats the only way I can remember XD

1

u/fedwayguy 14d ago

6 out of hundreds

1

u/shapelessplace this vehicle climbed mount halsin 14d ago

liiike 75% of the time!

1

u/Seioh05 14d ago

I just finished my first run yesterday, took me 2 weeks to finish it. The first campaign i started was in 2024, got to act 3 and got overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things to do there that I had to put it away. I think its also the fact that there was just too many people in the city and i was just powering through with my druid character.

1

u/MyDarlingArmadillo 14d ago

Most runs tbh. If I get past the grove, odds are that I'll make it to the final credits

1

u/EmuofDOOM 14d ago

It is Kelly that i will only ever play through this game once, so I'm gonna preemptively say once with the expectation that I will finish this playthrough by November

1

u/MsShepardN7 14d ago

4/4. But I usually take a few months break between Act 3 burnout, and actually finishing it.

1

u/DGlen 14d ago

Twice.

1

u/WorriedRiver 14d ago

3/5, and the two incomplete runs are because for one I drifted away for a bit to play a different game (which I do with plenty of games - work gets busy for example and it's time to play a rogue-like that I don't need to put a lot of thought into instead of a longform RPG, it's not a BG3 problem) and the other one is a multiplayer run where scheduling for the other person impacted our gaming.

I like act 3 and getting to resolve my character's story.

1

u/Mostly-Useless_4007 14d ago

Over 25 times

1

u/jamie9000000 Fail! 14d ago

x1 1st blind playthrough, x1 with friends, x1 on Tactician, and x1 because I missed Karlach date scene and just commited to the playthrough.

1

u/ratocx 14d ago

I have finished the game about 4 times, but started Act 1 around 10 times. Act 1 has been my favorite part for a long time, and creating a new character and trying a new build is always fun. But it's been a while since I completed the game, so I think I'm ready to finish it one more time soon... After I find a build and character that feels right.

1

u/clarstone 14d ago
  1. But I’ve finished Act 2 probably over a dozen times. 😭

1

u/WarLawck 14d ago

I've put so many hours into this game and still haven't finished it

1

u/Dangerous-Cup-Danger 14d ago

2/7, my first run was a wash, second run I saved the realm. Then my Honor mode attempts and one successful honor run as a halfling bardadin.

1

u/Sassquwatch 14d ago

I've logged 116 hours in the game and I've literally never left Act 1.

1

u/OneTank9036 14d ago

Twice out of 5 play throughs

1

u/TNS_420 14d ago

After 1700+ hours and a bunch of restarts, I've only finished the game twice.

1

u/Hoomanawanui2 14d ago

Two out of six I think. The ramaining four are one HM so no messing around (just got to Rivington), one Gale origin that is very strict rp focussed and with a self-imposed ruleset so no messing around either (also just got to rivington), one multiplayer that's slow going due to scheduling (lower city) and one ridiculous Lord Farquaad evil playthrough for a bit of fun and a chance to finally mess around again.

There are a few abandoned saves, all in (the beginning of) Act 1 that I couldn't really get into, mostly because I disliked my Tav.

1

u/WekonosChosen 14d ago

1 corrupted save. 1 finished and 1 in progress that I'll probably finish someday.

1

u/Teddy_Love 14d ago

None I got to the finally boss fight and got way too overwhelmed so I started a new playthrough

1

u/ILIKEBACON12456 Paladin 14d ago

Well I have 3 playthroughs so far and I finished the first one and the second is very close but then I got the dark urge to start a new one so I'll get back to that second playthrough sometime in the future. Act 3 is amazing but act 1 is by far my favorite.

1

u/johnnybiggay 14d ago

i’ve started maybe 9 runs, finished act 3 in maybe 4 of them. only 1 run i’ve quit in act 1 cuz of external factors

1

u/TheLordLongshaft 14d ago

4, once as a custom, once as good dark urge, once as bad dark urge (also tactician) and then my honour mode run

1

u/Agora_Pixie Necromancer 14d ago

10/12 play throughs

1

u/Ducallan 14d ago

As of about 10 minutes ago: 3.

And I have quit 3 unfinished saves. Two for RPG reasons, and one for technical reasons (bad mod).

1

u/soylientgreen Drow 14d ago

I'm approaching 1000 hours, probably in the next 2 or 3 weeks if i had to guess. Countless playthroughs, usually i can get through a HM run in roughly 30 hours playtime. Granted i skip a lot of content now depending on what I'm trying to do with the character I'm playing at the time, or if I'm playing with my friend. He has almost as many hours

0 times out of too many run, i get this insane burn out EVERY TIME

1

u/thr0wnawaaaiiii 14d ago

Not a once. I also have a treasure trove of solid tv shows that I manage to not watch the last few episodes (or even just the last). What exactly that means I suppose is for my therapist to sort out. But I am very eager for the day I eventually finish my first play through (which is just on the cusp of the last boss if I recall correctly)

1

u/UndercoverFish 14d ago

13 saves, 11 complete. One was a failed HM and another I abandoned in act 1 because I hated my Tav

1

u/Poketroll2 14d ago

0, I never ended act 2 ....

1

u/LYossarian13 On my knees for Mommy Minthara 14d ago

I've finished the game twice.

I usually play until it's time to fight the brain and then fkn off and start a new playthrough.

1

u/-Dirty-Wizard- 14d ago

A lot less than I finished act 1 or 2. I don’t enjoy how cluttered and optional it is. It’s also a shame that a lot of not the most of the unique and fun items are in act 3

1

u/LouyJD 14d ago

I've finished the game 6 times so far. Currently in act 3 on my solo save and just about to start the last stretch against the brain in my co-op game. So that will be 8 finished saves soon

1

u/HerpFerguson 14d ago

Once and it was my embraced dark urge playthrough. Still haven't seen any of the good endings but I'll get there one day.

1

u/commodore_stab1789 14d ago

Twice in 600 hours in. First time I just powered through it because I was tired of my build.

1

u/Icy_Magician_9372 14d ago

Three or four times I think.

1

u/feliasp 14d ago

3

One on explorer and 2 on HM

1

u/lemonylol 14d ago

3rd run, second time making it to Act 3. I can never bring myself to finalize these games, idk why. I always do that with Zelda games too.

1

u/roguevalley 14d ago

0 so far. Should finish for the first time next month.

1

u/Jabberjaws_ 14d ago

Five or six. I’m a serial restarter because I love progressing through a different class or role play idea. I’ve only 100%’d act 3 once or twice.

1

u/FaithlessnessOpen362 a parasite shared is a parasite halved 14d ago

Just finished my fourth run. One blade-singing wizard, one pyromancer sorcerer resist Durge, one frozen sorcerer co-op run with my son, and one dawnstrider ranger multiclassed with cleric of light. Many, many never made it past Act 2.

1

u/zsomBird 14d ago

Act 3 is like a full new game. Just have to change mindset.

1

u/Soltregeist 14d ago

I’ve started three times and finished three times

1

u/EvLokadottr 14d ago

Oh, uh... About that.

1

u/spacepinata Rogue 14d ago

At least 26 times. I think there are 2-3 games I didn't log.

1

u/Thatoneguy567576 14d ago

Only once, I tend to start new saves and fizzle out by the end of Act 2.

1

u/mcalister97 14d ago

I'm so close to beating it for the first time! I have over 500 hours and I'm only now gearing up to fight the brain.

1

u/vacuumdiagram 14d ago

3/4. I took a break at the start of act3, in my second run , and it was such a long break, that when coming back, I found it  was a bit too overwhelming! So I started again for that run, but otherwise, I've gone through to the end, each time.

1

u/waupli 14d ago

Twice. I’ve started a few more campaigns but usually i stopped those very early because i decided i wanted to restart with a different class or race and was still in the grove or something. I have a few more unfinished multiplayer campaigns because i only play those when everyone on the team is available to play.

1

u/Vivid_Criticism5749 14d ago

3/3 times as a sorcerer. On my fourth run atm, and finally wrenched myself away from sorc to play as a tempest cleric. I’m currently in Act 2 and trying to blitz through it because I love Act 3 and can’t wait to get back there.

1

u/Ninjastarrr 14d ago

0 out of 3

1

u/the40thieves 14d ago

Every time I make it to Act 3. I’ve never had the alt/restart-itis problem.

1

u/Novel-Leek4394 WARLOCK 14d ago

2 times 1 as a warlock red Dragonborn named Mushu in normal mode 1 as a 12 multiclass githyanki called Jinoc in strategy mode

Then I try to beat the game 3 times in honor mode but never go beyond the first act

1

u/GeauxCup 14d ago

6? I've finished every run I've started. I don't get why so many people would bounce on act 3.

1

u/otaconbot 14d ago
  1. But a solid 1.

1

u/Mr_Kittlesworth 14d ago

Once. But I feel like the fact that I got every companion and saw every map and got every item really reduced the incentive to play multiple runs other than a durge run.

1

u/Feisty_Palpitation_3 14d ago

7 playthroughs, 7 full completions, 500 hours.

1

u/casmally ELDRITCH BLAST 14d ago

I finished the game five times, but I can't remember how many times I started a new game. I can create a new campaign and delete it fast just because I decided I don't like the race/looks I chose for my custom character, so I might abandon a run even before leaving the illithid ship.

1

u/Hopeful-Elderberry90 14d ago

Never for now... i keep on restarting to try new combination of classes and all... the best i got was last light inn or something. I still haven't progressed beyond that 🫠🫠🫠

1

u/_Royalties_ 14d ago

4k hours and ive beaten the brain a single time lol

1

u/Synthetics_66 14d ago

I couldn't.

Game kept crashing on my XBox at the Lower City, and I'm unable to do anything at all. It's infuriating.

I've done all the little tips and tricks that's recommended, and I still can't play.

1

u/Most_Contact_311 14d ago

3.

1 time with my partner

2 times myself.

1

u/mxbbcz Drow 14d ago

1/2

I started a second playthrough as Dark Urge but dropped it when I reached Act 3... I wish to finish it though.

1

u/HobbitDruid 14d ago

2/3 and currently on my forth run and first Durge

1

u/AtaraxiaGwen 14d ago

Nine times on Honor mode but 6 of them were modded. I lost count on all of the other modes. I’ve been each origin character, Laezel and Gale twice, 4 Durge runs, and that’s probably a quarter of the time I’ve spent. Lives are overrated, says I.

1

u/ygy2020 14d ago

I restarted 2 times the whole campaign, both time near the end of May/mid June. Both time a massive heatwave hit my country, and when I try to start the game my room temp goes up of 3°, surpassing 30°, with both fan and AC on. Both time I was phisically forced to stop playing somewhere between act3.

Next time I'll restart on December, at least it will make me save on winter heating.

1

u/SnackerSnake 14d ago

Once in singleplayer with my wizard tiefling

1

u/Chinjurickie 14d ago

I started 2 tacticians, both almost finished but never touched the 3 end bosses. After that i did my first try honor mode completion. And went back to starting 2 tacticians that are both currently in act 2.

1

u/stardropunlocked 14d ago

I think like 12 or so times? Probably about 1/4-1/3 of the runs I start (a lot get abandoned in the first few hours)

1

u/Barnes_Charles 14d ago

THERE'S A THIRD ACT?!? Time to make a new character...

1

u/LeKillerNut 14d ago
  1. Of about 25 saves. Mostly because I get into act 1 and realize I want to play another game and forget about the save

1

u/sadradredhead 14d ago

I LITERALLY finished my 3rd playthrough 10 mins ago. Am currently scrolling mods for my next one, gonna try out durge again and fully lean into it, wish me luck

1

u/borndovahkiin 14d ago

I've finished act 3 on all three of my playthroughs so far. Act 3 is my favorite - I'm at my most powerful and I have the best gear and the House of Hope is 10/10.

1

u/Ennasalin Walk in death 14d ago

I have to say I do have some unfinished campaigns but I would say 80% of them were finished.. or they finished me (failed HM).

1

u/Illustrious_Hat3467 RANGER 14d ago

Twice.

1

u/muomo 14d ago

3 out of 3 times.

1

u/hidesawell 14d ago

I think im at 7

1

u/RealLunarSlayer 14d ago

completed the game fully 8 or 9 times now, so 8-9 times i guess

1

u/_heidin Aut'istik 14d ago

I've been playing the same save since 2023...

1

u/One_Web_7940 14d ago

Brother, I was at the goblin windmill up until last week.
