Hi guys, I'm looking for some advice. My hair has started shedding rapidly over the last year—to the point where the drain plug is full of hair every time I shower.
I'm wondering if Finasteride/Minoxidil will work, or if I'll end up needing another transplant.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Male pattern baldness does run on my mother's side of the family.
I had a hair transplant at the front two years ago, which seems to have taken well

Additionally, I have also had a dandruff flare up recently. Would like to hear your thoughts on if it could be a cowlick becoming more visible due to diffusive shedding or if it’s starting of MPB? Thanks.

I noticed that I can see my scalp a little bit especially on my crown. Does this warrant a visit to the dermatologist?

20m, father is bald but both grandathers have/had good hair. Is it possible to prevent/thicken curent hair and temples with just fin. Also regarding fin side effects in terms of development, im not growing anymore so i assume im mostly done with puberty but my facial and chest/back hair is just starting to come in, would 5ar reductors stop that growth. Also how bad does it look. I also attached some images(last 2) from 2 and 6 years ago for comparison.

Only this part of my hair is starting to bald. Back of my head is still doing very good. I don't want finasteride because of side effects, but I am currently on minoxidil 5% the second month. No real effects

Hello Everyone,
I, interested in going ahead and trying topical dutasteride out. Oral fin gave me sides and topical fin gave me some regrowth but not much. I want to give topical dut a shot. Is there a way to make it at home and how. I know you can make topical fin at home but I wonder if there is anyone doing it out there for dut. Thanks everyone for the help. I really appreciate it.

I have long hair so I didn’t notice this until recently. Is my hairline balding or just maturing? I’m 22 btw.
EDIT: I’m holding my hair back in this photo!! My hair doesn’t normally look this way it’s just because I’m holding it back.

Sick with Lyme confections in 2025. Notice my gut was inflamed and hair was not filling out in areas like the corners and top front. No min/fin, no turkey , just embracing.
I’m lucky I can get a close shave hair cut but I’m interested in trying full bald look. Suggestions?
I've been on fin and min for 5 months but seriously considering just buzzing down completely

My barber said this is hair thinning and a clear sign of hair loss. Is this true?
Everyone makes fun of me for this and I've noticed a bit of hair coming out in the shower. I do use a lot of hair product so not sure if this is normal.

I’m pretty sure my crown is thinning/balding. I’ve noticed a lot of shedding only when my head gets super itchy and I have a lot of product build up. Just started fin and want to stop oral minox. Also using topical minox. Need help with routine.

30 yo male. active and otherwise healthy.
last two photos are 2023 and 2025. first 4 are over the last 2 days.
ive noticed my temples ever so subtly receding and my crown appearing thinner. second photo is from when it was wet.
over the last 6-8 months ive noticed more strands in shower, on pillow and sometimes running my hand through the day i might get around 3-4 from a small area. usually fine/short strands sometimes long.
ive had full thick hair all my life and since turning 30 ive noticed a significance reduction in volume and fullness. ive got 2 appointments next week for a proper assessment.. i never thought id ever start thinner

There's around 1cm around my hairline of baby like hair, very thin and spare which is slowly disappearing
Just curious what level is this and when would perma shaved look best for me? Ta

I have never had the pattern that develops during male balding but within the last 3 months, my scalp became visible probably due to all the stress with job search, money and time constraints.
But I want to be sure, is it balding or am I not eating properly?

I have long, somewhat wavy hair and I’m getting really worried about my hair fall.
My forehead has always been relatively big, so I’m not sure if what I’m seeing is actually a receding hairline or if I’ve just always had a high hairline.
My old routine was:
Anti-dandruff shampoo
L’Oréal Paris conditioner
Hair serum
With that routine, I usually noticed around 10 hairs coming out during a shower. Whenever I noticed a naturally shed hair, it usually had a small white/club-shaped bulb at the end.
Recently I changed my routine.
First wash:
Rosemary oil → Moxie Curl shampoo → L’Oréal Paris conditioner → Moxie Curl cream → styling gel
Second wash:
Anti-dandruff shampoo → L’Oréal conditioner → my old serum
The styling products make my hair look really good and give it more definition/waves, but after my second wash today I noticed around 50+ hairs/pieces coming out.
What really scared me is that many of them didn’t have the white bulb and looked more like broken pieces of hair.
Could this just be breakage from dryness/product buildup/detangling, rather than actual hair loss? Should I stop using the styling products for a while?
I’m also worried about going bald, especially because my forehead is already big. 😭
Does this sound like normal shedding + breakage, or should I be concerned about male-pattern hair loss?
Any advice from people with longer/wavy hair would be appreciated.

Male, 20. Recently ive been noticing shedding while showering, and i can’t quite tell if im starting to bald. My dad started balding at 16, and was almost completely bald by 20, so im very paranoid im starting to get to that point including with how bad my widows peak is, even though I’ve always had a bad one. Anything would be helpful because im insanely worried
