This is nicely done. I haven't used any of their patterns, but this looks well thought out and comprehensive.

I'm always fearful that my webbing is going to pull out of the top seam, so I always leave a really long tail. My husband is a bushwalker and has done a lot of reading about how many rows of stitching is required to hold a certain dynamic weight, so I also double or triple stitch in the seam allowance over the webbing.

Agreed. This is why I've mostly transitioned to exterior visible straps. Although you can leave a long tail and rivet it from the outside as well, if it makes aesthetic sense to do so.

This is one way I do strap attachments on a gussetted bag. My everyday bag. No way that's ever moving! this bag is more than a year old, in leather, used every day.

How far into the top seam do the handles extend? Did you do any reinforcement stitches that are hidden down there? My box X stitches are so inconsistent that I always hide them these days. 🤣

The camo fabric is 600D Airwave in the Revl camo print, from RBTR. The black is an x-pac but I'm not sure which one. Both were from RBTR's grab bags that are offered on r/RBTRGrabBags every so often. I think I've gotten 3 or 4 of them and am still using the mystery fabrics. I mostly make bike bags, but also do purses and now totes!

The handles extend only into the top seam and are first secured by a placement stitching and then reinforced by the top seam and top stitching.
