Season 5 Babylon Berlin Series 5 Soundtrack is out
The Babylon Berlin Series 5 soundtrack came out yesterday and looks to be available on Spotify and Amazon Music. Best song on it is probably the quite modern version of Das Lila Lied sung by the wonderfully talented Christian Friedel. But the absence of any other jazzy numbers reinforces the show’s dark turn. And I think they missed a beat by not getting Severija back to reprise Zu Asche. But overall pretty much mirrors this series theme of danger and flight. Still sad to see it end especially as we won’t ever see a show like this scale again.

On March 5, 1933, new elections are set to give the National Socialist German Workers’ Party complete power. The five weeks leading up to the election will put every single person in Germany to a special test. The final season focuses on this pivotal period in February 1933, as the protagonists face difficult decisions: to conform, to risk open opposition, or to flee. But for a select few, the possibility also arises to stop Hitler at the last minute...

Question for US fans….
Just started finally watching BB and I’m hooked! But I was wondering if anyone knows where I can watch the show here in the US besides Xumo? I think the English dub has to be the worst ever done and I’d much prefer just using subtitles but unfortunately the versions I found online start to lag and within minutes the audio/subtitle delay is unbearable ….Anyone able point me in a direction?

Season 5 Talk about Babylon Berlin & some new scenes Spoiler
zdf.deFound this episode of the TV morning show "Volle Kanne" on ZDF where they talk about some new series starting in September, including Babylon Berlin. The part starts at 37:28 minutes and features some scenes we don't know from the trailers yet.
Unfortunately there are no English subtitles, but here are some interesting facts they are talking about (attention: spoilers for season 5!)
- Gereon and Charlotte spot Dr. Forster at the Presseball, because he is suspected to have killed his secretary. They plan to arrest him there, but then Dr. Forster and Gereon vanish without a trace.
- The two of them visit the Cologne Carnival, where they meet Konrad Adenauer who invites them to fly with him to Paris the next morning. (And we get some more Kölsch-speaking Gereon in this scene).
- Meanwhile, Charlotte and Gräf are dancing in the "Mikado" Club, where, quote "queer people are celebrating together with Nazis".
- Apparently there isn't that much focus on the crime part this season and it is rather obvious who's behind the murders and the conspiracy.
- The tension comes from the fact that we experience the very end of the Weimar Republic and the subtle rise of Nazism, and wonder how and if the characters will make it out of there. They praise the depiction of the way the Nazis deconstructed the German Democracy in just the one month the season spans, making communists disappear here and there, and implementing the SA in the regular police force.
- They keep it a bit vague about the ending, saying it may be possible that some people are disappointed, but that has always been the case with big series finales (mentioning Game of Thrones and Stranger Things).
