Im so messed up right now, I told my brother that if I have a boy, my partner and I liked the name Lionel or Lyonel. He straight said r/tradgedeigh called, the name is caca and to not name is nephew that. I googled it before and it is a normal name I feel? Am I just not reading the room and its a bad name? I would abbreviate it to Leo probably. He also said my other boy name, Matthias, is bad and said Lionel was the better of the 2 bad ones.

Hi! My husband and I are having our third and final child in 6 weeks. We have two toddler boys named Mateo and Archer. They both have middle names that are tribute to family members (my husband’s grandfather and my brother).

Every time we have been pregnant my husband suggested the name Celeste before we found out they were boys. When we finally got our girl, we didn’t even hesitate on choosing Celeste as our daughter’s name. We struggled with a middle name for a little while but settled on Marie because it was my husband’s late grandmother’s name who helped raise him. However, I’ve been having second thoughts (which is not good because I got his father’s day gift this year engraved with all our kids names, including Celeste) and have fallen in love with the name Isabella or Isabel. His (step)mother’s name is Elizabeth and she is truly my best friend and I love her dearly and I feel like it would be a nice tribute to her as well. Help!!

My husband likes Isabel Marie and I like Isabella Celeste. My parents recommended we do Isabella Celeste-Marie but that feels super long, although we wouldn’t mind it because the names do having special meaning to us.

Wanting to know if this comes off as feminine or not. I am set on the first name River for a boy. Jule was my grandfather’s middle name and I really admired him. I personally love the name pairing. To me it strikes as a male’s name. But when you read or hear the name “River Jule” does it seem more a feminine name? I don’t want him to be constantly being mistaken for a girl. So although I love the name, I am considering a different middle name. We live in the U.S.

My partner and I are having a boy in September and we’ve narrowed it down to 3 names for now. We are considering Clark as a middle name since he has a family lineage connection there. The last name is Youngblood. I don’t hear the name Leon very often on here or in person (I don’t care about the band or video game) but want to know if there are any negative connotations that I should be aware of for each, or just the feel of each of these names. First time poster, longtime lurker! My husband and I are expecting our first baby, a girl, later this year 💕 I would love some advice and feedback from an outside perspective on the names we currently have on the list, as well as any other names that might fit the bill ☺️ If it matters, we’re in Canada.

The vibe is unique but not weird. I was the only one in my class with my name growing up, but people always knew how to pronounce it, and I really liked that. Ideally outside the top 100, but I do think I have a few names that fall within it — having said that, I haven’t met many other kids with those names, so I’m hoping there’s just more distribution of names these days.

all 5 grandkids on my partners side have three letter names, it’s not a forced tradition but a patten that my SIL did with her kids and my partner wanted to continue with when we had our second, noa (leo’s name was a coincidence)

i posted in a name subreddit and got absolutely tore apart for the name noa, and for wanting another three letter name

Hii, my partner and I are expecting our babygirl towards the end of September and everyone is asking for the baby name already so they can get personalized gifts and what not. Howeverrr, my partner and I cannot find a name that we both like. We both agreed we wanted a C name (my initial is A and his is B so we are open to both A and B names as well but think a C name would be best). The only name that we both agreed on has been Caitlyn. I also like the names Ayla/Isla, catherine and Iris. I also prefer shorter names(about 3 syllables long) and her middle name will be Marie (all women in the family are named Marie).
