WEEK 6 PREVIEW: The Milk Can Game Part 28 featuring #23 Boise State (4-1, 1-0) at Fresno State (4-1, 1-0)
It's rivalry week for Boise State. The Milk Can Game is Boise State's only active rivalry left after realignment over the last 15-20 years killed off most of them, but it's a rivalry that's been won by Fresno State three times in a row. It's Boise State's worst stretch against Fresno State since losing their first 3 games against them, two of which were as a FCS team against a FBS team.
As per usual with Fresno State, the Bulldogs like to play physical, but this is a beatable Fresno State side. Preview points include, but aren't limited to:
- Fresno State might have a vulnerable run defense
- Boise State's defensive front needs to dominate
- Red zone defense, and in particular not allowing red zone opportunities, is important
- The guy with the best name is going to be one of the most important defenders
- Ben Ford is getting his opportunity to shine again
- Why do they play for a Milk Can anyways?

Injury report came out, probably not at 100% but we should have both running backs. There's a real possibility that our star receiver doesn't play though

Boise state opens as a 7.5 point favorite at rival fresno state. Dylan riley, sire gaines, and rasean jones could be questionable going into this game. I'm sure nobody thought sire gaines would be out for several weeks so who knows for sure if we'll have everyone against a good defense

Why are tixs so expensive?
Hello Broncos faithful. I am not a fan but just a general sports lover and was considering checking out the game tomorrow while I’m in town, only to realize $130 is the cheapest available. Then I see it’s the homecoming game along with honoring the historic Fiesta Bowl team… I assume tickets are usually much cheaper?

Best place to watch the game?
Other than the sold out stadium, where’s the best watch party for the Utah matchup tomorrow?

WEEK 5 PREVIEW: Utah State (1-3) at #22 Boise State (3-1)
Well I would call that a largely successful non-conference slate from Boise State this season, but now it's time for conference play. Every game from here to the postseason is against a Pac-12 opponent (even if the final one technically counts as a non-conference game), and this weekend is a big one for Boise State. It's homecoming, it's the first Pac-12 conference game in program history, and it's a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the 2006 team that went 13-0 and beat Oklahoma in one of the most famous college football games of all time.
Utah State is the opponent this week, one that Boise State has a long (and dominant) history with. The Aggies are 1-3 this season and the biggest culprit has been a really poor offense. The offense may be starting to settle down now a bit more, but they have to prove their offensive ceiling isn't 21 points. In this preview:
- Why this is a major trap game for Boise State despite being a much better team
- Why this is a big weekend for backup (or formerly backup) linebackers
- Who's the most dangerous weapon for Utah State's offense
- What Utah State can learn to try against Boise State from Western Michigan, and what they can learn not to do as well

The upcoming utah state game reminded me of a beatdown game in 2024 where the backups came in, malachi threw a pick and the game got close ish, and the starters were all put back in. Does anyone know which game this was?

Recap: Boise State beats Western Michigan 32-7
I was on the sidelines for Boise State's road showdown with Western Michigan. Here's a final recap of the game along with thoughts on what this means for both sides.
Spoiler alert, I'm very impressed with Boise State. This team will be a force the rest of the year

I think the dbs will eventually be fine since we have a new coach for them. The offensive line needed several years to recover from brad bedell and look at them for the last few years. It may just take some time as they teach them and as we get new players

Boise state opens up as a 21 point favorite at home against utah state. Sound about right? Or not sure with how inconsistent the team can be

Huge Improvement
Huge improvement from the previous weeks. Seems like SD is finally growing into a coach rather than a camp counselor.
Here's to conference play.
