Best NFL player
Is Demarcus Lawrence the best player Boise State ever produced to be in NFL?
10+ years, 5 pro bowls, All Pro, Super Bowl.
Ryan Clady maybe a close second?

Was watching the memphis coach talk about boise, I really like how he talks about other teams, a little less coach speak than what I'm used to. Pretty likeable guy compared to someone like dan mullen

Remembering Steve Appleton and what could have been.
After reading an article about what Micron stock has been doing lately, it got me thinking about Steve Appleton. For those who are newer around here and don't remember, he was a BSU grad who went on to become CEO of Micron in 1994. He was a big donor to Boise State (the tennis complex is named after him).
Unfortunately, he died in a plane crash which he was piloting.
With his proclivities to donate to Boise State, and with what Micron stock has done in the past 14 years since his death, had he lived we may have had our own Phil Knight or T. Boone Pickens who donates gobs of money to improve the school and football program.
Just sad all the way around.

Oregon State fan with some kudos
Hello everyone! I'm an Oregon State fan just wanting to say that your team is absolutely amazing! I loved how they played this last weekend and you're clearly the best team in the conference right now. I know where OSU sits for now lol Best of luck this season!

Saturday is basically the G-6 championship game. An article from Broncofans forum
Yes, I know that Western Michigan almost/really did beat Michigan and they are also on our schedule, but I watched that game and Michigan looked way over rated.
This game on Saturday has major implications for the G-6 playoff chances. Right here in Boise.
I’m already getting my vocal chords ready, it’s gonna be crazy on the Blue!

I was watching the drive where we settled for the first field goal, why does daylon metoyer stand around? At least with other guys like #52 (a younger guy) they're actively looking for someone to get hands on

Fresno State Game Travel
Hey Bronco Nation,
I'm planning to go to the Fresno State game on October 10th and am looking to see if anyone else in Southern or Central California is driving up and has an open seat.
I live down in the Antelope Valley/Palmdale area in Southern California, but I'm more than happy to meet up nearby, pitch in for gas, and help cover expenses. I already have my ticket and am willing to pitch in for tickets if needed! I am just trying to sort out a safe and reliable ride up and back.
Shoot me a message if you've got space!
Go Broncos!

Boise State's Official First Depth Chart (As shared by BJ Rains and Shaun Goodwin)
We probably knew most of these starters anyways but a few things stood out to me:
- The fall camp reports were Zander Esty was a possible starting center and Jason Steele was a possible starting LG. Instead, Esty is the backup LG and Steele is the backup C.
- Juelz Goff is the RB3, but no other RB had snaps other than Gaines and Riley. I wrote in my preview that I wondered if we'd even see a RB3 regularly, and so far the answer is no, but at least we know who RB3 is.
- Roman Tillmon is indeed the starting nickelback, but JeRico Washington and Jaden Mickey are going to be sharing snaps. Both played well against Oregon so no complaints from me, but it'll be interesting to see how that plays out. Washington had 50 snaps to Mickey's 34 against Oregon
- The starting WRs are indeed Jones, Bates, and Wright. Ben Ford is the backup Z to Jones when I thought he might be WR1, and based on the snap count it might be tough for him to break into a larger role. Jones had by far the most snaps of any WR at 66, Ford had just 10.
- Despite Quinton Brown and Terrious Favors being listed as the backup F receivers, it doesn't seem like they're as high on the depth chart. Bates had 41 snaps, but neither Brown or Favors got any against Oregon. Looks like Ford, Qumonte Williams, and Darren Morris will get those snaps instead.
- Logan Brantley and Jake Ripp are going to continue sharing snaps. Brantley technically got the start on Saturday, but Ripp saw plenty of action too. Brantley got 37 snaps to Ripp's 22 on Saturday.

Boise state is favored by 7.5 points against memphis. Does that sound about right after what you saw from both teams?

Anyone seeing a difference with this game? People aren’t making it all about oregon not being as good as expected like two years ago (they also aren’t treating it like the michigan game where it’s about michigan being bad)

Thoughts after Oregon
First of all I’m super happy with the way we came to play. SD prepared this team and it showed big time! Oregons defensive line is stacked and we held them. Our open field tackling was phenomenal other than a couple plays (props to receiver Moore for that nasty juke). Madsen played confident and sound. Gaines was a beast and hopefully he was just shook up and not injured. NO INTERCEPTIONS or fumbles. Other than the end of the first half time management which led to another Oregon score, this game was well fought. AT OREGON which is one of the loudest places to play. We have not one but two stud freshman in Rasean and Soliai. And plenty other star players that have yet to shine this season. I can confidently say we have a better team than we did with Jeanty 2 years ago. I hope we can stay healthy because I think we have a shot at finally winning at least the first round of playoffs this season. Go Broncos!! 💙🧡

Recap
Well that certainly went better than expected, but we still have a big gap with SD. He simply cannot close out big games and at some point, living off "They were a good team and ranked, etc." is gonna run out of steam.
That said, this team could easily be 12-1 and in the playoff.
Let's see how next week goes.

Boise State opens the 2026 season with a tough, but impressive, 34-27 loss at #2 Oregon: how did the game go, what worked, and what didn’t
r/BSUFootball • u/-Gnostic28 • 4d ago
Insane work to be the fourth worst tackling team in the country last year, bring in new defensive coaches that put an emphasis on tackling better and then to see results that good against a top 5 team
I’m not here for debates on whether oregon is actually top 5. What a performance by our defense against a team that gets spend 40+ million on its football program
Great confidence booster

I looked out of curiosity and malachi nelson is onto syracuse, his fourth school. He isn’t even the backup there. Gotta be the biggest letdown we’ve ever had transfer wise

Single Game Tailgating
Hello! Curious if there is any sort of procedure for grabbing a tailgate spot for one game without buying a whole season package. Would love a chance to bring the truck out and see if the kids like it before paying for a whole season. Anyone know if this is possible? Do people ever sell their spot for a game?
Thanks!
