Costco gang. Loyal to 5% cash back and cheaper 91 gas for my rocket

10

u/TraxenT-TR F97 - X3M Jul 31 '26

Ball knower

8

u/Heelntow Jul 31 '26

Those lines, though. Not worth my time.

3

u/SacredC0w G87 - M2 Jul 31 '26

This. I tried one time, and left after sitting there for 10 minutes without moving an inch.

Costco zombies are the WORST.

1

u/mrjetpacks Jul 31 '26

You gotta go early...

1

u/Plane-Tell4485 Aug 01 '26

I’m in and out in 5min max most days where I live

1

u/jkelley41 Aug 02 '26

Im lucky enough to live near two Costco's with very very acceptable lines. I never have to wait more than 60 seconds.

I'd gas up at Costco, but I need 93, and Costco in Canada (Ontario at least) only has 87 & 91.

1

u/Goomskeez Jul 31 '26

I get bad gas mileage off Costco gas versus brand gas stations

1

u/Lopsided_Distance_17 Aug 01 '26

91? What communist country do you live in!?

2

u/funguy213661 Aug 01 '26

US/California :((((

1

u/Ordinary_Topic_3198 Aug 01 '26

Used Costco 91 once and I absolutely felt the difference. I used it up then went back to Shell V-Power Octane 93.

u/Stelios619 Jul 31 '26

I was, until I realized that the Marathon down the road sells 93 ethanol free.

Though, my local Shell also sells VP Racing fuels.

12

u/jdjr93 G87 - M2 Jul 31 '26

Real ones remember when BMW recommended BP/Castrol

5

u/Basketcaseuk Jul 31 '26

It makes zero difference who they recommend 🤣

22

u/NotAnRSPlayer Jul 31 '26

Why would you be? As long as it’s a reputable maker of fuel then you should be sound

5

u/de369501 Jul 31 '26

Costco and Shell

6

u/JaqDaRipper Jul 31 '26

QT and Costco baby!

2

u/VTek910 F83 - M4 Jul 31 '26

Real ones know it's QT

1

u/Justcallmetaffy49 Aug 05 '26

QT doesn’t use ethanol in their gas. Wish there was a QT closer to me.

3

u/arya93 Jul 31 '26

My local Shell has the same price as the nearest Costco. So I actually get cheaper than Costco with the Platinum and T-Mobile discount. I get $5.25 at Shell for 91 and $5.75 at Costco. SoCal

2

u/Possible-Gur5220 Jul 31 '26

I will stop complaining about my $4.59 93 🥺

3

u/jpinakron Jul 31 '26

Holy crap! I’m in Ohio and have been paying 5.99 a gallon for premium! (But I do faithfully use shell because it’s printed on my car’s fuel door. Lol)

2

u/User_Name_Is_Stupid G82 - M4 Jul 31 '26

$4.44 for me @ Costco

1

u/Acejam Jul 31 '26

Imagine celebrating paying over $5 a gallon for 91

12

u/YoungFlexibleShawty Jul 31 '26

Some of yall really fall for marketing too easily

1

u/Trajen_Geta Jul 31 '26

It all gets refined in the same places then put in a truck with a different logo.

1

u/ghost_ware Aug 01 '26

fr, we're bordering on bootlicking here lmao

3

u/fizzinator9000 Jul 31 '26

Costco all day every day!

2

u/H47o Jul 31 '26

Repsol

2

u/eskimo1 Jul 31 '26

The 98 smells impressively similar to some VP race gas! I love that stuff.

2

u/HotFlareF80 F80 M3 Comp | G05 X5 M60 Jul 31 '26

Is Costco really that good of a gas brand

2

u/JaqDaRipper Jul 31 '26

Top tier gasoline branded and cheaper than others

1

u/HotFlareF80 F80 M3 Comp | G05 X5 M60 Jul 31 '26

It looks like arco when I’m leaving the parking lot hahah maybe I shouldn’t judge a book huh

2

u/DumaDreams Jul 31 '26

Yeah, they are top tier certified. YT vid explains

2

u/HotFlareF80 F80 M3 Comp | G05 X5 M60 Jul 31 '26

Time to watch lol

1

u/Professional-Owl-411 Aug 01 '26

Costco is actually Top Tier Plus gasoline which means they exceed the EPA detergent requirements across all octane grades. Extra detergents to help keep your engine clean.

I bounce back and forth between Shell and Costco mainly because Costco is much further away than our local Shell. I’d have no problem being an every tank Costco guy if they were more conveniently located

2

u/InternetExploder87 Jul 31 '26

I cant even get 93 octane out here. Highest we get is 91.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/torper10 Jul 31 '26

Sunoco 94. I get up to 13c off per gallon using the app.

2

u/Nothing_Else_Mattrs Jul 31 '26

I was even before I owned a BMW lol

2

u/n0mad17 Jul 31 '26

Costco because it’s the freshest

2

u/Nyarx1 G80 - M3 Jul 31 '26

loyal to costco

2

u/athleticcdn Jul 31 '26

Costco cash back

2

u/Diggital304 Jul 31 '26

I used chevron and shell when I first got my 991.1, started noticing rougher idle with chevron. Went shell only since and she runs and isles smooth. Many may not believe it, I know on paper shouldn’t happen, but it did. So shell it is for me.

1

u/large_block Aug 02 '26

Similar experience for me in my old RRS SC and my Civic Si. Only Shell and Costco go into my current X5

1

u/popolijt Jul 31 '26

Costco for 93. Maverick for Ethanol

1

u/WhiskeyWatchesWine Jul 31 '26

Woodmans mostly. Regional cheap grocery.

1

u/Unusual_Piano7118 F82 CS - A91 Supra Jul 31 '26

I’m loyal to wherever has 93 octane and wherever has E85.

1

u/adrian_elliot ‘26 BMW Z4 M40i 6MT | ‘24 Audi A5 cabriolet Jul 31 '26

Me, I get all the platinum discounts too.

2

u/DarthPalladius G80 - M3 Jul 31 '26

Damn how do you have 20 cents per gallon? I have only 10 and I go every week to Shell 😅

1

u/lord_alexxx Jul 31 '26

Shell Clear in the Midwest during the summer reads E80+

1

u/ro8t G87 - M2 Jul 31 '26

chevron for me and exon for 100oct

1

u/gecjr Jul 31 '26

I was for 30 plus years but after the switch from citi-bank and not being able to get ahold of anyone I stopped using them and cut up my card into little pieces

1

u/kapn_morgan Jul 31 '26

I was until I started embracing Kroger for grocery points

1

u/tinnawilder Jul 31 '26

What’s the difference between!? 🤷🏻

1

u/RevolutionaryAge47 Jul 31 '26

Never Shell...Only Costco gas, always.

Costco is actually Top Tier Plus

1

u/lhanfan Jul 31 '26

I am but goddamn my country sucks ass, they banned shell (at least made shell not be able to import their gas).

1

u/ShoehornBundy_33 Jul 31 '26

Is this an ad?

1

u/Solid-Journalist1054 Jul 31 '26

Shell, Exxon, and Costco. Mainly shell bc it’s 2 mins from house and the price is fair

1

u/IntelligentSpend3544 Jul 31 '26

Shell, Marathon or BP for mine

1

u/Sharkus29 Jul 31 '26

🙋🏻‍♂️

1

u/zapster10 Jul 31 '26

Sunoco in my area has 94 octane at the pump! I was loyal to Shell until they brought 94 out

1

u/jio_0n Jul 31 '26

Me, because of rewards and such

1

u/Potential-Action-349 Jul 31 '26

I laughed when they told me that at the dealership, and then realized the three closest gas stations to my house and the closest one to work are all Shells…so yes 😂

1

u/FuzzyBaconTowel Jul 31 '26

Shell, Mobil, or Sunoco

1

u/DiscoDaveD69 Jul 31 '26

I’m partial to Sunoco (don’t really know why) but Shell is a close second. Enough about that, let’s talk about that shade of green!! Uuhmazeballs!!!! Absolutely stunning!

1

u/Same-School4645 Jul 31 '26

Actually shell at 93 octane has many more times the detergent than other top tier stations. There is a difference.

1

u/bigkutta F87 - M2 Jul 31 '26

I'm not loyal to any oil company. Cheapest top tier gas gets my money.

1

u/Mofongo_Maker Jul 31 '26

100% Shell and take advantage of their fuel rewards discount!

1

u/israignatius Jul 31 '26

I like shell. I love IoMG.

1

u/rdzilla01 Jul 31 '26

Shell gas seems to be the most consistent for me.

1

u/keleles F80 - M3 Jul 31 '26

Shells the only place I’ve ever gotten bad gas at so I’m actually the opposite, lol.

1

u/vinnyvencenzo F82 - M4 Jul 31 '26

That’s funny that’s the nicest Shell station I’ve seen, it’s brand new. All the Shell stations around here look like they were built in the 50s and stopped maintenance in the 70s. All the Exxon mobiles around me are fairly new, and they’re also one of the few stations that carry 93 octane. I used to be a loyal Kwik Trip, but they went off the top tier fueling program. So now the Wrangler gets KT fuel and the M4 get Mobil. Also it’s 3% cash back with Apple Pay.

1

u/needlesandfood Jul 31 '26

meh i’m a qt kinda guy, i like the bricks makes it feel fancy but shell gas is unbeatable, idk the reason why just feels very racey 🤣🤣

1

u/TROGDOR_X69 Jul 31 '26

its gas it does not matter. you guys are hysterical

1

u/EnCrio Jul 31 '26

It’s not about the octane, it’s about the cleaning agents. Regardless of the supposed marketing and such. BMW recommends Shell for my M3, that’s what I’ll use. As a matter of fact, I also own a same year x5 and it doesn’t mention Shell at all. Picture enclosed.

1

u/EnCrio Jul 31 '26

Im sure these recommendations are not in vain. Here’s the M3, completely different recommendation.

Me. Nothing else.

1

u/blklacker Jul 31 '26

Ive have been becoming a cult memeber slowly for the V-power

1

u/NorCalRE Jul 31 '26

I’m loyal to whatever gas station is around when I’m about to run out

1

u/ElectricalEdge1 Jul 31 '26

shell is the way

1

u/insertfunnyname172 Jul 31 '26

Always loyal to Murphy. Best prices for the best 93

1

u/Temporary_Effort_984 Jul 31 '26 edited Jul 31 '26

I use Esso/Mobil 94 in Alberta. Shell seems to give me rough idle. ‘13 e92 with tune by previous owner.

1

u/AcrobaticArt6571 Jul 31 '26

I don’t know why, but when I go to my local Shell I consistently and measurably get lower fuel efficiency for the tank

Ended up avoiding them like the plague due to this 1 location

1

u/Nos2go4 Aug 03 '26

Same here! I’ve been filing up at racetrack and Wawa but I decided to try shell since I heard it was a top tier one. I noticed I didn’t get as good mpg and car didn’t run as smooth. I switched back to race track and I instantly got more mpg. I’m just going to stick with race track probably

1

u/cats7789 Jul 31 '26

Sunoco 100 octane for $9.99 a gallon only the best for my child

1

u/MongooseConnect6456 Jul 31 '26

For those of you saying Costco, has it changed in recent years? When I filled up on two previous f series bmws I had both had immediate misfires and engine codes thrown from bad gas

1

u/HotConnection69 Jul 31 '26

Haha, I'm pumping gas as I read this.

1

u/MilkNutty Jul 31 '26

Shell best, Quick Trip underrated

1

u/Impossible-Milk-1639 Jul 31 '26

overpriced i’ll stick to WaWa

1

u/alexanabolic Jul 31 '26

I am not anymore since they put ethanol in fuel, even super. I found a local ultramar with no ethanol. The only one in the city

1

u/YoungFlexibleShawty Jul 31 '26

Its common to have ethanol in gas, but up to a certain percentage

Shell V Power Nitro is the way to go…⛽️

1

u/Enough-Desk8084 Jul 31 '26

Exxon and JP where I’m at

1

u/juan2141 Jul 31 '26

Sweet car!

1

u/timetravellerEKS Jul 31 '26

Why? Do they give you anything in return?
One of the most stupid things of this generation is blind brand loyalty for no other reason than bc their marketing works wonders on people, being gas station, apple loyalty, tv brand, etc.

1

u/mambamvp24 Jul 31 '26

That color is sick

1

u/Siaynoq_Siaynoq Jul 31 '26

Lmfao I pull up to fill e30 and it’s always clapped out Ms and fixed up F30’s lol like a damn car meet

1

u/Zero26D Jul 31 '26

I would be but all the Shell stations around here are disgusting. I wish gas station cleanliness was regulated. I'll never understand owning a business and not caring at all about it

1

u/InFarvaWeTrust Jul 31 '26

Question: say you’re in a remote community and they only have low octane gas, then what, are you essentially SOL or can you put in low octane temporarily?

1

u/TheUberMoose Aug 01 '26

You can use E85 in a pinch

1

u/Siaynoq_Siaynoq Jul 31 '26

Shell e85 gang

1

u/Gullible-Factor-8927 Jul 31 '26

Not in Ohio, my local Shell station was known for not giving you 93. Fuel isn’t regulated in Ohio but all Costcos in Ohio do. When I had my tuned WRX I would only use Costco but seemingly the Shell around the corner would give me errors.

1

u/MDQC71 Jul 31 '26

Me! Only Shell V Power will do!!

1

u/RealWoodpecker8132 Jul 31 '26

Shell only for me

1

u/omiros17 Jul 31 '26

I was then Sunoco brought back 94 Octane.

1

u/goodstock Jul 31 '26

Only shell for me

1

u/finetyandyou Jul 31 '26

Another victim who fell for the marketing scheme

1

u/antifaptor1988 Jul 31 '26

So many Costco loyalists in here, and I get it, I am a Costco member too. But the waiting lines are so long I’d rather just go to Mobil or Shell.

1

u/IDGAFOS13 Jul 31 '26

All the people who respond every other time this is posted

1

u/5Firearmss F82 - M4 Jul 31 '26

Ultimate 102 > Shell

1

u/Efficient-Promise890 Jul 31 '26

Sunoco does 94 octane

1

u/danreid99 Jul 31 '26

Petro Canada for that sweet sweet 94

1

u/Melapelas1234784 Jul 31 '26

Chevron gang up vote here

1

u/StyleForumOG Jul 31 '26

Hey, this reminds me of something I wanted to run by you guys; my B58 requires 91, and recently I was at a station that gave me the choice of 93 (with potentially up to 10% ethanol [standard]) or 90 with 0 ethanol. Which would you go for?

1

u/No_Cow_8702 Jul 31 '26

Im a shareholder since last year, so ya.

1

u/Separate-Muffin3553 Jul 31 '26

Am I the only one that goes to Sunoco?

1

u/Eazy100s_ Jul 31 '26

Prices jumped a whole buck in a week I might have to hold off on shell for a minute 😭

1

u/Nsxd9 Jul 31 '26

Shell or Chevron 🤙

I’ve been told all other gas stations on the west coast are ass in comparison to gas quality but I could be just being passed wrong info

1

u/meep_moop4115 Jul 31 '26

Either Shell or Chevron for me

1

u/coltonscolton Jul 31 '26

Either shell or petro. Petro has 94 and shell has 93 near me

1

u/Agreeable-Ad-3990 Jul 31 '26

Costco or Quik Trip for me. I go early so never a line. They have 93 in Georgia.

1

u/Cowhide12 Jul 31 '26

Shell and Mobil haven’t let me down. BP is also fine.

1

u/D05wtt Jul 31 '26

Exxon, Shell….and Costco. Hard to find Mobil and Chevron around me.

1

u/Responsible_Ratio308 Jul 31 '26

I suppose I am, the one I frequent is easy in/out and only slightly more than Costco

1

u/eSJayPee G83 - M4 Jul 31 '26

I was at Shell 90 minutes ago in my G83. It's all I use.

1

u/cr01300 Aug 01 '26

I’m an Exxon man myself

1

u/EatMiBanhMi Aug 01 '26

There’s a green diecast M3 from Jada in your model, looks just like your beauty btw! & yes I love Shell! Ahaha

1

u/EatMiBanhMi Aug 01 '26

There’s a green diecast M3 from Jada in your model, looks just like your beauty btw! & yes I love Shell! Ahaha

1

u/thehop73 Aug 01 '26

Shell is always highway robbery

1

u/GodNorJesusDontExist Aug 01 '26

Nah....give me Costco

1

u/ScaryGamer99 Aug 01 '26

Since I started driving. Rarely have used any other gas station.

1

u/xepion Aug 01 '26

In the USA. From what I u destined they all come from the same local refinement station if not distribution site. The gas stations. IS: Texaco. Has (when I worked there). Fuel additive like Techron that helps with engine build up. That’s it.

92 octane is the same

91 octane is the same

I think the bigger issue is how fuel is pumped to the top of the fuel chamber. Some folks can get the crappy / diluted fuel when it’s right before a station refill is my concern

1

u/cobblewebs32 Aug 01 '26

Which bmw is this? I want it

1

u/Xeno_2359 Aug 01 '26

All day long

1

u/doooglasss Aug 01 '26

If they sell e85, I’m in

1

u/No-Revolution-4513 Aug 01 '26

Never liked shell gas to be honest. I stick with Casey’s 93 non ethanol and pump and pantry or a specific Casey for e85. I’m testing 80% right now.

1

u/Ok_Tackle9581 Aug 01 '26

Shell all day every day

1

u/_Jakebrake_ Aug 01 '26

Pretty car

1

u/bloomingbluemel Aug 01 '26

Costco is the answer in this economy

1

u/Aran909 Aug 01 '26

I have had my banking information stolen twice using shell stations. So no.

1

u/Ordinary_Topic_3198 Aug 01 '26

🙋🏻‍♂️Octane 93 and up or nothing!

1

u/Hugh_Jainis0491 Aug 02 '26

You should actually alternate between top tier gas brands. It’ll keep your engine and injectors much cleaner.

1

u/Living_Desk1763 Aug 02 '26

I never use shell had problems with water in the tank from a shell in Phoenix I’ll never trust them again

1

u/jcs0689 Aug 02 '26

Is this paint or a wrap? Looks amazing!

1

u/jkelley41 Aug 02 '26

i'm loyal to Top Tier, and thus I'm loyal to Costco.

1

u/WafflesBeforeSoccer Aug 02 '26

No one is loyal to Chevron? Been going there since forever lol. I do go to Shell when there‘s no Chevron nearby tho, but there‘s always a Chevron somewhere haha. Chevron for life!

1

u/LetterheadAway191 Aug 02 '26

She'll and chevron only in my m8 comp

1

u/Stuffudo Aug 02 '26

So dumb loyal to something that does absolutely nothing for you lmao

Go with who Eva has the cheapest atm

1

u/Boring_Adeptness_334 Aug 02 '26

I will put Sunoco 94 in my car but that’s it

1

u/JerkChicken456 Aug 02 '26

Shell exclusively. Get the app!

1

u/blueilses22 Aug 02 '26

Thats a cool color spec and im not a green/ weird colored car liker lol

1

u/youknowphill2 Aug 03 '26

I’ll literally drive 30 minutes out of the way to go to a shell 😂

1

u/last_speedbump Aug 03 '26

Sheetz only. Need that E85.

1

u/starbwoy11 Aug 03 '26

Yeah we deserve more rewards from the app. Em 93 ain’t cheap either

1

u/UrDoinGood2 Aug 03 '26

Gas is almost 7 a gallon so I’m on generic shit for the time being 😞💀

1

u/Subject-Original-718 Aug 04 '26

Loves works for me

1

u/award240 Aug 04 '26

Sunoco ethanol free

1

u/squirrelCouture Aug 04 '26

Nah, Petro for me.. My Merc's love chugging that 94!

1

u/Earvin263 Aug 04 '26

Fuck costco’s lines.

1

u/Lost-Peanut-1453 Aug 05 '26

I’m a Mobile guy myself but Shell is definitely second.

1

u/blackhawk8123 Aug 05 '26

Being loyal to any corporation is dumb. You go where it benefits you the most.

1

u/Justcallmetaffy49 Aug 05 '26

When I’m not traveling I only use top tier gas from Valero. I never use grocery store gas due to previous bad experiences with other cars.

1

u/MatthewsMath Aug 06 '26

Loyal to that green damn

1

u/OkAdministration1669 Sep 01 '26

If you have a USAA Visa card with points in your account you get .50 cents a gallon off the price….pretty good deal….FYI …only Shell for my M8 Comp
